Well of course some of this would be to Windows' advantage. This is because when a company releases a new product, then some of it would have to advantage the company in question so that they can get some profit and benefit from it, which will in turn increase their popularity. But when they say this, it sounds like Microsoft is just trying to protect their Windows product from counterfeit software. This of course will benefit Microsoft and Bill Gates because it means that more people will now be more aware of what couterfeit software is and will thus, more people will buy Windows products instead of the couterfeit ones. This means that Microsoft will earn more money if more people are buying there products. However, they cover this up nicely by going on to say what benefits the customers will receive. And this of course draws attention away from what Microsoft wants because the customers will be more interested in what they will get from not buying couterfeit products.

It seems like this is a pretty debateable topic, thanks both nightfox and m^e for helping shed some light on this. So basically, correct me if i'm worng but does that mean that there are no special hosting services and that e-mailing services such as Yahoo and Hotmail run it by themselves? I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense but it's a bit hazy to me! So if what you about bandwith is true nightfox, then aren't these e-mailing services spending alot of money? I mean, surely with the millions of people that are visiting their websites and using there e-mailing systems, they would need a hell of alot fibre optic cables. And to run a powerful data center like that would also cost alot of money wouldn't it?

Yep, don't worry about it clear. Dreamweaver works on nearly every website host whether they be free or not. But I still agree 100% with everything twitch said in his above post. Design a website is one of the hardest things about websites. So just take your time, visit the websites he posted on CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), and then everything will be fine. The last thing you want to do is muck up your site! Or an alternative to Dreamweaver, would be to use a CMS (Content Management System). These are basically a package which contains your sites design, layout, modules and everything. And because it's a content management system, you can modify it however you like to suit your purposes, via an FTP server (which Xisto also provides). I hope this helps.

I don't believe in these crazy new Mp3 players that allow the user to hold so many songs and have so much space. As far as i'm concerned, all you need if a standard Mp3 player that will hold only songs that you need. Such Mp3 players have around 512 mbs of space; this allows for a normal amount of songs for you to listen to.I know what most of you are probably going to say in response to this question: "The best Mp3 player is the Apple iPod"! Well, I just have to say that the Apple iPod's, I think, aren't as good as everyone makes them out to be. I just feel that they are way to big to fit everyone's mood, and how do fit those things in your pocket anyway?I have to admit though that Apple really have done a great job with the new Apple iPod Nano. It really is small, slick and slim, so that it can fit in your pocket no problem, have all the features and more of a normal iPod and have a great fashionable look!

Well, i've been thinking, and i'm sorry if this thread has been posted before so if it has then please feel free to delete it. Now to business; well you know there are normal hosting services such as Xisto for example. Xisto and many other hosting services provide a limit amount of space and bandwidth and maybe unlimited MySQL databases. Well here's the thing; e-mailing services such as Yahoo and Hotmail, must need alot of both space and bandwidth if they want to keep their e-mailing services alive. This is because they need alot of space for storing all the data on the databases and for keeping their sites attractive for the general public. They would also need alot of bandwidth for the many people who visit their sites and use their e-mails like three times every day. The trouble is, how can these e-mailing services have these facilities, when normal hosts such as Xisto only provide a limited number? What I was thinking, is that maybe there are some special hosting services that deal only with such services as e-mail. This would mean that they would go beyond what normal hosts have to offer and maybe provide unlimited bandwidth and space. Now I probably know what you're thinking. Just like me, I have been told countless times that such features are impossible to access. Unlimited space and bandwidth ... really? Well maybe with these possible "special hosting services", who knows. Post all your thoughts, comments and suggestions here. Wouldn't it be just great to have an account on a special hosting service ... think of what you could do!!

Sports games rule the most! They definetly are more fun to play than some adventure and action games, partly because of the interaction you can have with fellow gamers who own the same game as you. My favorite type of sport games are probably football because every year a new football game is made and it's always got some changes to it.The latest football game i've got is Fifa 06 and I got that a couple of days ago and i've already mastered it. The Fifa series is good because every year they make significant changes to it and what I like most about it is how the football players on the game aare so much like their real life counterparts! For instance, the celebrations are similar and the team they play for is the same in real life!

Thanks alot for that article xboxrulz. This all comes down to whether media influences violence. I remember doing a piece of coursework on whether media affects violence and I know that some people who read this will agree with the article or disagree and say that the boys were under social, financial, environmental, e.t.c. issues. I didn't think that Need for Speed could have that sort of effect on boys, especially 18 year olds. I don't own it myself but I have played it and watched others play it and I can say that I have never felt anymore violent to before I played the game. It's quite unbelievable to believe that mature adults could have let this game take over their lives. However, these boys may have been really immature like many of you are saying. Only people without the sense to control their own actions would or could have done something as terrible as this.

I totally agree with you poy. The first thing that any Search Engine must do to gain popularity and trust must be to rival Google and make their Search Engine seem better. It will be hard though because Google has lots of modules and features apart from a Search Engine to spread it's name such as Google Earth and Google Talk. What does Quaero have to offer? I very much doubt though that Quaero will make much of an impact on the world as Google has, even if they have the same amount of websites in the database. I'm sure that other Search Engines such as Yahoo have a significant number of websites as well but they aren't well known, only for e-mail. Also you'll notice that both Google and Yahoo have e-mail systems. If Quaero wants to compete with Google, even Yahoo, then they should get an e-mailing system as well. This again comes down to what they have to offer the general public apart from a Search Engine.

Thanks so much for that post jedipi. It's really amazing how Google manages to create so many of these new modules for their site. But what exactly is this Google Video? Is it like a TV show or is it like a recording studio where you can preview, make or watch videos? That's a good question Khymnon. I don't know either why they are doing it but if they are trying to overthrow Microsoft then they'll have their work cut out for them because Microsoft makes so many products that are sold worldwide. Maybe they are just trying to promote their Search Engine to the rest of the world. Other search engines such as Yahoo and Dogpile are really major but they are still competition to Google. These modules will help Google become more popular.

Wow, I never new that Linux had that sort of technology. Normally when you hear the words 'small' and 'technology' you think of Microsoft and the Apple iPod Nano. We never expect Linux to come up with something as small as this. What's better though. The Philips MP3 player HDD 065 or Linux. I myself have a standard MP3 player that you plug into a USB slot and you then transfer your songs. But how does this work because it seems pretty cool to carry around? Also, do any of you have a computer by Linux? I don't, mine is by Microsoft but I haven't known anyone to have a computer by Linux. I was wondering if they are any good?

No offense to any of you dot.tk users ... but I really hate dot.tk. I'm not saying that they're a bad URL redirection service but they leave extra pop-ups after leaving the website. However, I don't suppose they're that bad considering that they don't actually place ads on your site.If take my advice, you should use Co.nr. They are definetly the best. They don't place ads or pop-ups on your site which leave it as perfect as ever. And what is more similar to Co.uk than Co.nr! However, you do have to place a 88*31 button on your website but you can just place it on the bottom where hardly anyone glances at!

I'm really happy that Gmail finally did something like this. I remember before, you had to click three things just to place something in the Trash ... and then you have to delete it separatly from the trash again! Also, this button will possibly make Gmail more popular and easier to use in the future. This is because all the other big names such as Yahoo and Hotmail already have this delete button, but what they don't have is over 2GBs of storage! With this new feature and the increasing storage for Gmail users, i'm sure that more people will join up. What do mean by this exactly sparx? Does this Firefox extension allow Gmail users to customize their Gmail accounts? So now that the delete button has come out, what can this extension do now? Sorry, I don't really understand. If you join up on this topic, you can talk about Gmail in depth! Thanks again for this because now maybe more Xisto users will use Gmail now.

Thanks for that article Sietze but just like everyone else said; it is against the Xisto TOS to post articles that you haven't written yourself. To avoid being banned then please don't do something like this again. Aside from this, that article is actually very interesting and it may cause some debate. I've taken part in many topics where people say about how good Google Gmail is because of it's 'immortality', but in the article it makes this seem like a downfall: This is what I hate about Gmail! Other e-mail systems such as Hotmail and Yahoo, allow it's users to delete a topic straight away. But on Gmail you have to first highlight the message in question, then click the dropdown menu, and finally press 'Send to trash'. I know lots of people who don't like using Gmail because of this. I know that Gmail recently changed this deleted method to a much more convienient method but i'm not sure that I agree with this spam thing. I don't recall this ever happening to me but if this does happen then Google would be in trouble because they are presenting people with false information. As for problems 2, 3 and 4. These ones are pretty intense and I very much that Google will fix these immediately or some people like me may stop using Gmail altogether!

Wow ccb_v2 ... that screenshot really is amazing. The graphics of the background and the character look really good for an online game, especially the weapon. But could you please tell me exactly what an Fps is? The storyline sounds quite decent but how do you win. Also can you like interact with other people who are playing this game? Hi there juventino79. Fifa 06 is definetly a great buy and definetly worth your money. I don't have it for X-box or X-box Live but I do have it for Nintendo Gamecube and I can tell you that the quality of the game is the same do matter which console you own. This game is basically like it's predecesors; Fifa 04 and 05. If you know the controls, tactics and skills of these previous games then Fifa 06 will be no trouble at all! However, this may be a disadvantage because you may get really bored of it later on. If you really want a game then get Shadow the Hedgehog. This game is amazing and nothing like the Sonic Adventure series. Hope this helps, laterz.

Wow, nice work techocian. For only 1 hour of time that you had those are pretty impressive pieces of works! Here ... I rated them out of 10 for you so that you could see how you did. 1st: 10/10 because I like the neat design of lines on the left. 2nd: 6/10 because it is quite plain with no variation in the design. But still well done since you didn't have enders or custom brushes. Can I ask you though, which Adobe Photoshop version was it then? I know how you feel! That's the same for me in my Information Communication Technology and Design Technology classes!

Thanks very much for the link bash18! I tell you, there aren't many popup blockers that are small but powerful and blocks all types ads before they are loaded. Nice! And this does boost your browsing speed. This is one of the reasons why I want one. That's one of the reasons why I switched to Mozilla Firefox. They have a built in pop up blocked which is really good. I think that Internet Explorer is trying to do this as well... Thanks again for the link bash18, really needed something like this!

I used to think that the Microsoft X-box 360 was really good and that it was worth buying. But when I went to GAME in Bentalls though, it looked so much much different that images and pictures I had seen on the internet. It looked so much bigger and wider and it doesn't really look secure standing vertically! However, the games and the graphics are well sweet ... does anyone know if Halo 3 is going out for the X-box 360? Wow, $500 is alot of money ... does anyone know how much it will be in England? From what i've seen and heard about the X-box 360, I don't think that it is worth $500. If I was to put a price on it i'd say ÂŁ250 in English currency. But $500 is just too much. Do we know why Microsoft is doing this? I mean surely two levels of X-box Live would make this more complicated and confusing to players? However, I do like the different features that the two levels are offering us ... it make it more interactive I suppose. And also, all the features that you mentioned in your first post onlyregret ... are they going to also be in the Nintendo Revolution and the Sony PS3? Because if they aren't then Microsoft will blow away all competition and hit the markets and shops straight away!

Thanks for the great tips and hints for Windows XP soleimanian. I've been looking for some things to help to try and enhance the performance if my computer and these are really good. However, there are a few questions that I need to ask you or anyone else: Are there any disadvantages to doing this? I mean, surely something so simple would have some negative effects...maybe? Please correct me if I am wrong. Do these files go to like a recycle bin or something. Because even though it would be good to get rid of these files, we might want to access them again? And also, do these files take up any memory space? How can you back your registry up, just in case you make a mistake? Grafitti mentioned it in his post and I though that it's a good idea. Thanks again for the tips...i'll be sure to try them out!

I totally agree 100% with what you say Shooting Star Haven in your first post. I know lots of people who buy and have iPods just to keep up with the demand and fashion of the music world nowadays. I really don't like iPods or any of Apple's product for that matter and I think the only good creation by Apple are their iPod Nanos ... those are actually amazing. My brother has the Motorola ROKR E1 which is the first phone to have iTunes preinstalled on it ... and he says that the Motoroal ROKR E1 is much more worth buying and having that just any old iPod because you can listen to songs just like an iPod and have all the features and more from a regular phone. That's exactly what I do. I don't mind if all my friends have an iPod ... I feel that a regular, common MP3 player is more than enough for me.

I hate Naruto now. The fillers definetly spoil the anime episodes and they're not even funny. The good thing about Bleach is that there are hardly any fillers but they are hinting that in a few weeks there will be a filler arc. I've started reading the Naruto manga chapters instead of watching the episode because there aren't any fillers!And you're right Broli, Chidori is only good if it actually hits but with Rasengan even if it misses then it can still be used over and over again.I think the Bleach games are better than the Naruto games but that's just my opinion!
