  1. I agree. There shouldn't be any discrimination against felons. As you said they paid their debt. If they are trying to make a living doing their own business, they obviously are trying. I have some friends who are felons and it is almost impossible for them to find work like you said. None of them have money to start their own business so they depend on state assistance. How does that help them or society as a whole?

  2. This reminds me of the show Jon and Kate Plus 8. Anyone seen it? They started with twin girls then wanted another baby. They ended up with sextuplets, 3 girls and 3 boys. At one point they had six 2 year olds and two 6 year olds. It is amazing the parents can survive that many kids without going crazy. I mean really 6 kids in diapers at once, that's insane.

  3. I use Firefox all the time. I hate IE. When they came out with IE 7 i thought it might be good but it was complete garbage. It interfered with some of my other running programs. I must admit I haven't used Opera or any of the others. I started with IE when I started using the internet but since finding FireFox that is all I use

  4. I appreciate any advice in advance. I have many small ideas to make a T.V. Simulation game. This is the reason why I want the web-hosting here. My question is what would you like to see in a text based T.V. sim game? I have idea's about starting a small kind of public access type T.V. station then working your way up. I have some loose ideas about having advertisement slots, crew, actors etc....So.... What would you want?

  5. I used to play the sims online game, but I've recently heard that it is no longer running. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is true, why did it happen? I thought it was a very popular and fun game. I wanted to reinstall it and play again but I wanted to be sure that it was there first before wasting my computers energy on installing it.

  6. 1. the art of producing illusions as entertainment by the use of sleight of hand, deceptive devices, etc.; legerdemain; conjuring: to pull a rabbit out of a hat by magic.

    2. the art of producing a desired effect or result through the use of incantation or various other techniques that presumably assure human control of supernatural agencies or the forces of nature. ---Dictionary.com

I would like to note here the fact that magic is for entertainment. Also, if you look at the second definition it does say "techniques that presumably assure human control". So I would have to say I believe in magic. The magic of David Copperfield, Cris Angel etc. With this definition I have found, there is no doubt in my mind magic is real. Now when we start talking about putting hexes on people or other strange things of that nature, then I don't believe that.

  7. I remember being a kid and playing text games on my Apple II. Back then I would like nothing more than to have a good time thinking things though and playing a game at the same time. As I got older, I still playe games on the computer (although consoles were taking that spot), but I also discovered the great WWW. At first it was just something fun to have, and the whole E-Mail concept was awsome. Now, if my internet goes down for some reason, I lose contact with many things in my life. My sister and her family live 5 hours away, my grandfather across the country, even my college courses use an internet site for assignments and coorosponance with teachers. Well, also without things like MySpace I would have never found some of my old high school friends, and long lost relatives. I think it is absoulty possible to live with out the internet but... who really wants to. It has way too many convienences. I don't know about the rest of the world but here in America I find many people who would prefer to sit in front of a computer than get active. Is the internet really all that great in the grand scheme of things? I'm not totally sure.

  8. Thanks for the ideas. I wasn't even sure if i was thinking of the right thing, file server that is. But now that I know I was correct, I will look for something free for now. I wasn't planning on taking other peoples work and making it available for downloading. I was going for original things made by myself or members of the site I would like to make. I guess I will just have to make sure what I get from others isn't copywrighted somewhere else.

  9. I'm not sure if that is the right way to write this question, but I'll try to explain it better here. I am looking to make a site that will have various things like: forums, help sections etc.. But I also want to have a place for bigger files that people can download. Is there some kind of online file server, or is this something that comes with the hosting package? The things I am thinking of people downloading are like homemade dungeons, sheets etc. Does anyone know what I can do?

  10. I'd play games all day and half the night if I could! I like the out of reality feeling. But since I've got school and a family, I can't play all day. During my breaks between classes, I play some text-based games on the schools computers in the library. At home, I go between computer, XBox, Playstation and Game Cube. Too many systems, not enought time. Every once and a while I break out the old stuff. I love my Atari, and still love some of those original Nintendo games. One good thing is, I got my step-son to enjoy a good video game once and awhile too.

  11. TavoxPeru, thanks for the link to the database. I will be looking into it more. And I agree with you unimatrix, about altering already existing scripts. I have done it a few times with PHP. It helps me in two ways. 1 by giving me a quick solution, and 2 helping me learn more about the PHP as I'm trying to alter it. I have been to hotscripts for other things, but I didn't think of looking up databases.

  12. I looked into that site you mentioned, and you are correct. They did have the MySQL Cookbook there. Of course it's just my luck that it was a dead link. Some sort of error like 'Page not found'. But there does look like there could be some other stuff there I would like... If the pages work.
