  1. Thanks for that tip... I actually did try to install DX9.0c, before I saw this post of yours, but fortunately, it didn't install, some error with the M$ installer or something... I shall try that Merk3D patch, and report back... Not that I want to play many games, just these few logical games, that don't exist for linux yet (or I hadn't found them)... I got very spoiled using linux, ability to do everything in an instant... I personally don't like using my mouse to click around, and so, everything is available to me through terminal... Schedule tasks and such with cron, install practically anything with apt-get or dpkg... My ADSL network is actually working on it's full speed now, not only 90% of it... Heck, I even got my old TV card to work in ubuntu... I don't have special effects turned on, but when I tried them, I was playing with the rotating cube for 20 minutes like a craed child lol... Anyways, those who say linux is hard to use, don't have a clue... I used linux a few years back, it was red Hat 6.0, and THAT was hard to use, nowadays, everything starts to be more and more acceptable for newbies... Heck, even my 53-year old mom and dad have learned to use Ubuntu, surf the web, play games, write emails, even install new stuff...
  2. I never personally liked game makers... I've been programming my own games for 12 years now... Not that I made anything good, and earned money, but then again, I never intended to... I started with simple text-based adventures on Commodore 64, then moved in to sprite graphics, also on C64... Then moved to PC... The rest is history... Most of the good games I made are gone now, obsolete, or destroyed, and I don't intend to make them again... I saw I can, so there's no thrill in making it again...As Alex said, best would be to learn programming, then learn how to use OpenGL, or DirectX API (I would recommend OpenGL), and off you go... Start with simple games, like mines, tetris, side-view shooters and alike, and then move on to a more complex games, like isometric-view space strategies, or FPS... It's not as hard as it looks
  3. Well, the stuff I hear about wine were not quite true, possibly because of DirectX... I attempted to play 3 games, a logical ones, that probably use DX, and wound up with nothing... So, until I try to install DX on wine, and then try those games, I guess it's a bust... The lates version of wine, the one I installed, supposedly has support for native windows api, meaning you can put a dll in wine's virtual directory, and the software should work... We'll see ^_^As for games, I see that FPS's are most dominant for linux... And so, I wound up playing Americas Army, that runs pretty smoothly and nicely with OpenGL... Too bad they halted development for linux...Hopefully, we won't have wine one day, as windtendo won't exist anymore
  4. As for the whole El Chupacabra thing, I can't quite say it's true or false... It is a myth now, but it definitely has a basis in reality, as all myths do... Now, I don't believe it's anything like the pictures portray, or that it is alien in origin... Most likely, it's some sort of nearly-extinct species, most probably related to a vampire bat, only larger...I read somewhere about some spider or something, that upon catching it's prey, injects some sort of an acid, that turns the insides of that spiders lunch into mush, and the spider then sucks it all out... Could be the case here, when the organs are missing, and only two or three holes exist...And of course, the good ol' experiment gone awry, and escaped... It's not that hard to believe, that someone has been playing with cross-breeding, or this and that with genes... It's quite possible it's a hybrid of a bat, or something like that...Not quite sure... If someone should go out and look for this thingy, count me in, I would love to see what it is
  5. Well, you can't actually have two hosting packages on one account, staff won't approve it... Or at least I think so... You would have to create another forum account name, and start posting with it all over again, and then keep posting with both accounts to keep credits for two hosting packages up... But I don't think that would be a good idea, since this is a free service, and Trap has limited resources... Probably staff wouldn't approve either... Nor do I like it much... I would go for redirection, if I were you...As for adding another domain... You could set it up as an addon domain, or you could create a subdomain, and have it redirected to that .org page you want... I'm not wuite sure about subdomain, but addon domain certainly has that redirection option...And of course.... You can always edit .htaccess file, and have a redirection set up in there
  6. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed from the air, but those were military aircraft, not commercial... Do you know what happened to those pilots that flew that bomber planes?Well... Neither do I, but we'll find out soon enough... For now, we're laying low, nad when we get something substantial, we'll report it... Hopefully, we'll manage to get to the Penguins...
  7. I'm not quite sure if this is possible, to operate a computer without a hard drive... There is an option boot from network in BIOS, but I have never tried it, so I can't vouch for it...What you are mentioning about user accounts, they are called roaming profiles in windows, and you will need a server computer, to which the others will connect to, and it will serve those profiles to a computer... I would recommend installing smaller hard drives in each conputer, and having a server with a giant hard drive, and you can use it as a storage... I really thing micro$oft didn't want you booting one windows on two computers, and thus, I don't think that's possible...
  8. I too kind of started playing with linux out of boredom and sheer curiosity... I started years back, with Red Hat 6.0, then 7.2, then made a little pause in linuxes I then tried Ubuntu 5.04, then another pause, then 6.06, and now I'm a happy user of Ubuntu 7.10... Since most of what I do is programming, linux is a great OS for me, stable, and has everything you need on your hands... If you know how to find it :PIn reply to games... There are a ton of games for linux, mostly FPS, based on Unreal engine, and some others... Linux was more of a pro user OS, and as such, doesn't have a great variety of games to choose from, but the list is rather big... I just finished downloading Americas Army game for linux, and will try it on... There are also RPG's, Strategies, and other games... What I noticed lacking are driving simulation games, but hey, nothing is perfect.... And there's always wine I hear that the lates version can run pretty much anything windows you put into it...
  9. As I noticed, Ubuntu 7.10 has quite a few problems on different subjects... Anyways, you can try, just to see, if disablng Compiz can fix the matters with the desktop... Type this into terminal: compiz --replaceThis should disable Compiz, and activate Metacity, and cut down on effects, and then you can see what happens... I personally don't use compiz, as it is somewhat buggy on my system, it tends to mess up global hotkeys for moving windows and stuff, and to turn on effects I don't want, and that really annoys me, so I turned off the effects, no spining cube, and wobbly windows for me... But, who needs them anyway, they are nice, but don't actually do anything I installed linux for functionality, not visual effects So, try this, and tll us if it solved the problem, it could be one of the Compiz bugs...
  10. Here's another update from us... It seems that my program has come through, as we managed to decrypt that segment we got from "enemy" installation... Here's what we've got: HEAD-INFO:GVT-BASE-187/3T/G18HEAD-LOC:163.229/7649.352PUB-KEY: &BOT/J3DO9RRPANC651BDOA0G3VDU48DOF4KD/&EOTSEC-LVL: PON-X18/7/LOWSIG-STR: 18dBSNR: 12dBPCKT: 228-52827-735/TACC-NODE: 0.255.16.88ACC-PORT: 187SEC-PROTO: G117/8.XBRDCST: 0.255.0.1BRD-PORT: 255 Now, it appears that HEAD-LOC field contains coordinates of the installation, but we can't be sure... What we need to do is break into one of the installtions, and grab another piece of data, and compare them, and maybe get some point of reference... Hopefully, software that Alex is writing will allow us easier interfacing with governemntal installations, and so, giving us broader access to confidential data... Also, it is clear that they are using very unstandardized access addresses, so we can't quite figure it out... All software had to be written from scratch, so it takes some time... Hopefully, we'll be able to try it out very soon, and report back here...
  11. It sounds strange that autmatically upon receiving a file, it would start itself... What IM client was it? MSN?No file can start itself on its own... Something or someone has to start it the first time... MSN doesn't do that by itself... Unless you clicked on open, or something... Do you have a option for AV to check infoming files? If you have, then maybe command prompt was AV software starting and scanning that file...And to answer your questions:[1] Rather annoying, and as rvalkass said, pointless, they do nothing but annoy you[2] They happen now and again... But I'm safe [3] First of all, I don't download them... Second, I'm on Linux [4] Extremely annoying, for my taste
  12. I have finally switched to Ubuntu 7.10... And I love it...Everything I need to do, I can do, sometimes even quicker than I did in Wintendo... GUI is rather nice, compiz runs fast as hell, rotating the cube, while 4 movies run on 4 desktops... Ubuntu even wants to run my monitor in it's native resolution 1440x900, where Wintendo said I need a new GFX card, because this one can't display that resolution... Yeah, right....Network runs fine, without any configurations (I use ADSL)... I even configured iptables to some extent (not that I need it )... Successfully installed SSH... Installed several more applications... Ubuntu sees my webcam... The only thing I have to configure some more is my TV card (that I don't use so often)...So... For me... Linux doesn't fail as a desktop system, it excells greatly... I love it...
  13. Dear Trappers, I'm just writing this quickly, to let you all know of the progress we're making...But first, one sad news (at least for me)... During one of our quick escapes from "enemy" installations, I was hurt, and now have a broken arm... The right one... We were so lucky to stumble across a good doctor, who is supporting our cause, and he fixed my arm, and now I'm proudly wearing a cast... It is difficult to type and work, and our progress is heavily delayed...I'm glad to see that more and more people see the truth, and come to our side, helping us in this fight to the ultimate truth... Once everyone learns of this truth, and see the evidence, nothing will be the same again... A new era will dawn for mankind...A good bit of news is that we have managed to infiltrate several more offices and installations, and gather more or less important documents, that will help us in locating key installations and allow us to infiltrate them... Alex is working on a way to connect our equipment with theirs more quickly, which would give us more time to get the data...We are looking for more help, and we will be forming another strike team, with the sole purpose of sabotaging key installations, and thus, providing us with some sort of a distraction...Be well, and...~ no, it ain't round ~
  14. I'll agree with maddog on this one... Linux is vecoming easier and easier to install and configure... I remember the first time I installed Linux on my computer... It was Red Hat 7.0 I believe... It was A PAIN to do... Whe I installed Ubuntu 7.10, it went like a breeze... Everything works out of a box... The only thing not working is my Genius WebCAM Express II USB web camera, but hey, I didn't use it on wintendo (that's how my friend calls windows ) either :(Evolution mail works great, it has RSS plugin so I can read news, VLC player plays all of my movies, and XMMS plays like a charm, OpenOffice let's me do everything I need, and Pidgin allows me to stay in touch with all my friends... My SBLive 5.1 works with full power, all 6 channels, thanks to ALSA...Oh... And let me just say one thing I adore... Few months back, I boutgh a TFT 19" Widescreen... And wintendo couldn't run it in it's native resolution 1440x900... I thouoght I had to buy a new GFX card (I have nVidia GeForce4 MX440)... Display was all pathetic, and the image was stretched... In Linux, it installed nVidia Restricted Drivers, and now I see true widescreen, on 1440x900, i's native resolution, picture is very clear and sharp... I didn't have to install anything...I truelly hope people will start to turn more and more to Linux, as it is far better than wintendo...Beryl ran on my friends computer as smoothly as it gets... And his specs are a bit old... 1.6GHz CPU, 512 RAM, ATI card with 128MB GRAM... Vista wouldn't even install on it (had he wanted to install it)...Someone said "bring back windows 3.11 for workgroups"... I say "yeah, bring it back!" It really IS waaay better than vista
  15. Recently, I had a need to make a FTP client, since our webhosting FTP server was kind of exotic, and very restrictive, and most of uploads, even though they reach 100% would crash... File would be uploaded to a server, but FTP clients just froze upon completion, waiting for the 226 (OK) from FTP server... So, I had to make my own, one who would not wait for 226, but instead, watch the file pload progress... This tutorial is not fuly complete, in the sense that it does not offer COMPLETE FTP client functionality (for example, I ddn't write the code for FTP download, though it is fairly easy to add it, since all the necessary functions are already written)... I was ofcourse guided by the thought that tutorials sould encourage someone to do some further reading and exploration of their own, not just copy/paste... First, let's start off with how FTP works... FTP uses 2 ports to communicate: port 21 for command communication, and some other port for data transmission... So, knowing this, let's begin: First off, we need to declare some variables we'll use in our code: Option ExplicitDim CData As String ' We'll use this to store incoming FTP dataDim CResp As String ' We'll use this to store response from FTP serverDim DataOK As Boolean ' Is the data sent?Dim CmdOK As Boolean ' Is the command sent?Dim ATS As Single ' Approximate transfer speedDim ATT As Single ' Approximate transfer timeDim Data As String ' We take chunks of data we receive from the server, and merge them in this variableDim p_Log As Boolean ' Should we log FTP activity?Private Const C_TIMEOUT As Single = 1 ' Default timeout value of 1 secondDim ConnLog As New Collection OK, next, we'll need several of the controls on the Form:2x Winsock controls: wskFTPC and wskFTPD 1x Command button: Command1 1x Text box: Text1 1x Timer: Timer1; resolution 100ms OK, that set, let's add some actual FTP code.. Since many of FTP commands will often be called, so to avoid repetition, we'll write several of the functions and subs: Private Function CSend(ByVal Command As String) As BooleanIf CmdOK Then CmdOK = False CSend = False wskFTPC.SendData Command & vbCrLf ConnLog.Add "-> " & Command If p_Log Then Text1.Text = Text1.Text & ("-> " & Command & vbCrLf) End If CSend = WaitCOKEnd IfEnd FunctionPrivate Function DSend(ByVal Data As String) As BooleanIf DataOK Then DataOK = False wskFTPD.SendData Data DSend = WaitOKEnd IfEnd Function We will call CSend() every time we want to send a command, and DSend() every time we send data chunk to a server. Let's move on... You must have noticed some more of the functions here, so let's write them (and others) too: Public Sub Wait(ByVal ms As Single)Dim t1 As Single, t2 As Singlet1 = TimerWhile t2 < t1 + ms DoEvents t2 = TimerWendEnd SubPublic Function GetCode(Optional ByVal Timeout As Single = C_TIMEOUT) As StringDim t1 As Single, t2 As SingleCResp = ""GetCode = ""t1 = TimerWhile CResp = "" t2 = Timer If t2 > t1 + Timeout Then Exit Function DoEventsWendGetCode = CRespEnd FunctionPublic Function WaitCode(ByVal Code As String, Optional ByVal Timeout As Single = C_TIMEOUT) As BooleanDim t1 As Single, t2 As Singlet1 = TimerWaitCode = FalseWhile CResp <> Code t2 = Timer If t2 > t1 + Timeout Then Exit Function DoEventsWendWaitCode = TrueEnd FunctionPublic Function WaitOK(Optional ByVal Timeout As Single = C_TIMEOUT) As BooleanDim t1 As Single, t2 As Singlet1 = TimerWaitOK = FalseWhile DataOK = False t2 = Timer If t2 > t1 + Timeout Then Exit Function DoEventsWendWaitOK = TrueEnd FunctionPublic Function WaitCOK(Optional ByVal Timeout As Single = C_TIMEOUT) As BooleanDim t1 As Single, t2 As Singlet1 = TimerWaitCOK = FalseWhile CmdOK = False t2 = Timer If t2 > t1 + Timeout Then Exit Function DoEventsWendWaitCOK = TrueEnd FunctionPublic Function WaitConn(Optional ByVal Timeout As Single = C_TIMEOUT) As BooleanDim t1 As Single, t2 As Singlet1 = TimerWaitConn = FalseWhile wskFTPD.State <> sckConnected t2 = Timer If t2 > t1 + Timeout Then Exit Function If wskFTPD.State = sckConnecting Then t1 = Timer DoEventsWendWaitConn = TrueEnd FunctionPrivate Function SendPORT() As BooleanDim pIP As StringDim pPort As StringDim pH As LongDim pL As LongDim lPort As LongRandomize TimerlPort = Int(12000 * Rnd + 6000)SendPORT = FalsepH = lPort \ 256pL = lPort - (pH * 256)pPort = Trim(CStr(pH)) & "," & Trim(CStr(pL))With wskFTPD .LocalPort = pH * 256 + pL pIP = .LocalIP .ListenEnd WithpIP = Replace(pIP, ".", ",")CSend ("PORT " & pIP & "," & pPort)If Not WaitCode("200") Then Exit FunctionSendPORT = TrueEnd FunctionPrivate Function SendLIST(Optional ByVal FilePath As String = "") As BooleanData = ""CSend ("LIST" & IIf((FilePath = ""), "", " " & FilePath))If Not WaitCode("150") Then Exit FunctionWhile wskFTPD.State = sckConnected DoEvents Label3.Caption = CRespWendOpen "c:\incoming" For Binary As #120Put #120, 1, DataClose #120Data = ""SendLIST = TrueEnd FunctionPrivate Function SendFile(ByVal FileName As String, Optional ByVal BuffSize As Long = 2048) As BooleanDim hFile As IntegerDim fBuff As StringDim lBuff As LongDim t1 As SingleDim t2 As SingleDim s As Long, i As Long, r As LonghFile = FreeFilelBuff = BuffSizet1 = TimerOpen FileName For Binary As #hFile If LOF(hFile) >= lBuff Then s = LOF(hFile) \ lBuff Picture1.ScaleWidth = s Label1.Width = 0 fBuff = Space(lBuff) For i = 1 To s Get #hFile, , fBuff DSend fBuff Label1.Width = i DoEvents Next i r = LOF(hFile) r = r - (lBuff * s) If r > 0 Then fBuff = Space(r) Get #hFile, , fBuff DSend fBuff End If Label1.Width = LOF(hFile) Else Picture1.ScaleWidth = LOF(hFile) fBuff = Space(LOF(hFile)) Get #hFile, , fBuff DSend fBuff Label1.Width = LOF(hFile) End If DoEvents t2 = Timer ATS = LOF(hFile) / ((t2 - t1) + 1) ATT = t2 - t1Close #hFilewskFTPD.CloseSendFile = TrueEnd Function Okie, now we've written all of the functions we'll need... Next on, we need to add some event handlers: Private Sub Timer1_Timer()Label2.Caption = wskFTPD.StateIf wskFTPD.State = sckClosing Then wskFTPD.CloseEnd SubPrivate Sub wskFTPC_SendComplete()CmdOK = TrueDoEventsEnd SubPrivate Sub Form_Unload(Cancel As Integer)If wskFTPC.State = 7 Then Text1.Text = Text1.Text & CSend("QUIT") wskFTPC.CloseElse wskFTPC.CloseEnd IfEnd SubPrivate Sub wskFTPD_ConnectionRequest(ByVal requestID As Long)wskFTPD.ClosewskFTPD.Accept requestIDText1.Text = Text1.Text & "*** Data connection established" & vbCrLfEnd SubPrivate Sub wskFTPD_DataArrival(ByVal bytesTotal As Long)Dim s As StringwskFTPD.GetData sData = Data & sEnd SubPrivate Sub wskFTPD_SendComplete()DataOK = TrueDoEventsEnd Sub OK, that's settled too... We've written basic FTP handling, upload will work, download too, but you'll have to come up with your own download function, that wraps around existing functions Now that we've got all the ingredients, let's make a juicy FTP soup: Private Sub Command1_Click()CmdOK = TrueDataOK = Truep_Log = TruewskFTPC.RemoteHost = "ftphost.com"wskFTPC.RemotePort = 21wskFTPC.ConnectIf Not WaitCode("220") Then Exit SubCSend ("USER username")If Not WaitCode("331") Then Exit SubCSend ("PASS password")If Not WaitCode("230") Then Exit SubCSend ("TYPE I")If Not WaitCode("200") Then Exit SubCSend ("CWD sautpro.com/proba")If Not WaitCode("250") Then Exit SubIf Not SendPORT Then Exit SubCSend ("STOR somefile")If Not WaitCode("200") Then Exit SubIf Not WaitConn Then Exit SubIf Not SendFile("c:\.somefile") Then Exit SubIf Not WaitCode("226", 10) Then CSend "NOOP" If Not WaitCode("226", 20) Then Exit SubEnd IfText1.Text = Text1.Text & "*** File transfer complete. (Approx. upload speed " & Format(ATS / 1024, "###,##0.00") & "kb/s, Approx. upload time " & Format(ATT, "#,##0.00") & " seconds)" & vbCrLfText1.Text = Text1.Text & "*** Closing data connection." & vbCrLfCSend ("TYPE A")If Not WaitCode("200") Then Exit SubIf Not SendPORT Then Exit SubSendLISTIf Not WaitCode("226", 5) Then CSend "NOOP" If Not WaitCode("226", 10) Then Exit SubEnd IfText1.Text = Text1.Text & "*** Directory LISTing received." & vbCrLfEnd Sub Now, remember to replace ftphost.com, yourfile, username and password with actual values, or this won't work... So, what are we doing? First, we're initializing variables, set wskFTPC to connect to ftphost.com on port 21 (FTP command port)... Then, we send our login info, and inbetween we wait for appropriate responses... Since I made this for specific purpose, error handling is virtualy non-existent, but it's easy to add to this code. You can find a list of FTP responses on the net... I believe code is rather self-explanatory, but if you have any questions regarding this, I'm at your service, just post here, or drop me a PM... You can play around with the code, optimise buffer size for upload, for download, since I used a value that suited best to my internet connection and FTP server type... This ofcourse is not a complete FTP client, it's only a core functionality of FTP... If you wish to build some sort of full blown FTP client, you'll have to work some more on this code... Oh, and if you do make that FTP client based on this code, I'd like it if you put my name somewhere in the credits Cheers, and I hope you will find this usefull in some way...
  16. Hey again, As we suspected, the moment THEY realised we were inside their 3R Transponder instalation, they sent in heavy forces, but we managed to get out before they got there... We managed to inflict some mediocre damage on the instalation, but they got triple redundancy systems, so global damage was negligible... However, it took them 18 hrs to fix this instalation Yay us! Anyways, with some materials we managed to steal from the instalation, we got ourselves pretty occupied, so we're making a little break... I'm staying behind to type this report, while Alex is off hunting for food We managed to break down the code a bit, so now, we have this: VSOR-WBTC:UJH-POGS-632/8H/U63VSOR-ZCQ:618.774/21/4.807DIP-YSM: &PCH/X8RC4FFDOBQ106PRCO5U8JRI/3RCT/YR/&SCHGSQ-ZJZ: DCB-L63/2/ZCKGWU-GHF: 63qPGBF: 67qPDQYH: 773-07372-280/HOQQ-BCRS: 5.700.61.33OQQ-DCFH: 632GSQ-DFCHC: U662/3.LPFRQGH: 5.700.5.6PFR-DCFH: 700 It now looks a bit more like some sort of header, so we have something to work with, we'll be decoding it as a whole, since it is reasonable to assume that decoding one characted somewhere in the text, will yield results for all the occurences of the same character everywhere... I'm now very hungry, and tired, and I can hear Alex returning with lunch (hopefully not another road kill ), so I guess I'll be signing out, and will be back sometime soon, when we brak the code... Cheers all...
  17. Ok, here's another update from Alex and me... We have been working hard, ran alot, and we're still hiding... They've been monitoring this forum, and tracking us, but we have managed to elude them so far... And one good thing happened on Saturday... We managed to stumble upon governemntal internet backbone link, and we can't begin telling you how ecstatic we are... This can bring us sooooo much information... However, we can't seem to be able to interface with that link... They seem to be using some kind of technology neither Alex nor me are familiar with... So we'll need a bit of your help... They apear to be using something that awfully looks like OC-192, and we did manage to find a 10G 3R Transponder nearby... It appears they have these 3R Transponders every 2.3 kilometers, and are using some sort of MMF cables, but we just can't be sure... We're trying to connect our equipment to ther 3T Transponder, but it just won't go... We don't have alot of time, since we have disabled camers in theyr 3T instalation, so we expect them to arrive any time now, and we must flee... We have managed however, to connect out equipment to theyr regular internet backbone, with no trouble, but they seem to use it only for non classified operation, so we don't have muc use of it... we did however managed to get this code from here, as it seems to be a part of every IP header that is being sent... If anyone can help us decrypt it, we'd be most appretiative... It appears as BASE64 encoding,, only with 16 bytes but it's not... We are unable to decrypt it, since we're on the run... Here's the code: OJVK4N[MZ#LSQ4IV^J4/*+6!Q6L/*;OJVK4CZH#/(!7..-6+(6-7!).;]PI4@JT#9?IZQ6A!KZ-__]V[H()/IKZV,L!SKP6*KZM6@K6?JZQ;^JH4CSC#9]Z[4U/*6+6CZR;^NL4^Q_#9/*hI;^[_#9/.hI;]H@Q#9..*4).*.+4+!)6Q;VHH4[ZKJ#9,7.))7/(7**;VHH4]Z_Q#9/*+;^JH4]_ZQZ#9L//+6*7U;I_KH^Q#9,7.))7,7/;I_K4]Z_Q#9.)) If you can help us decoding this, we may be able to tap into their system, and see what is going on... As always, Alex and I are contintinuing our struggle to the truth, but it;s getting more and more difficult, as we get closer... We expect that 3R Transponder stations will soon be heavily guarded, to prevent us from getting to them, so we don't have much time... Signing out...
  18. Well, VB by design is kind of slow for some operations... I see that it would be slow on prime number calculations... Visual Basic is interpreted not compiled code, and from that comes its slowness... What youc oudl do, is create a project, and under Project options window, use optimisations like, "Optimize for fast code", enable "Favour pentium pro", and alike... Also, try how different variable types affect the speed, integer, long, single, double... Also, compiled code will run much faster than from IDE, always remember that...
  19. You need help with what actually? MySQL connectivity, or the entire project? If you ar looking for MySQL connectivity within Visual Basic (6.0, not .NET), you can take a look at this topic [ here ] If you are looking for help with the entire project, well.. I never tried to connect with WMP so I can't help you there... Why not use Winamp instead? It already has all the code written in Visual Basic, that you need to interact with it... (And winamp is waaaay way better than windows media player)...
  20. If I understood you correctly, you want to link entire form to a database object? Well, that is not possible with MySQL library I mentioned above, but I suppose it could be done using ADO... Only, I don't like to use ADO, so I can't help you with that, but at least I can give you that pointer - look for it using ADO... Although, I don't see why one wouldn't use this library, it's small, fast, and it works... As far as I know it connects to MySQL 4.x and 5.x, possibly even 3.x... It all depends on MySQL maintaining libmysql.dll compatibility, and keeping all the functions within... It does take some programming to display and update the data from MySQL, but hey, you can't have it all with zero effort...
  21. Yeah, I agree with dre here, I find it rather difficult to imagine someone often using billions or such in everyday life... Other than say, microbiologists or something like that... Anyways, here are some more names for numbers... And I added their equivalents in Serbian language... It would be interesting to see these numbers in some other language aswell...
  22. Are you saying that 12 years of software development makes me illiterate? Choose your words more carefully in the future friend... I don't hate vista, as that would be a waste of my time and emotions on something that doesn't deserve a second of my time... When I choose an operating system, I don't want it to hog all my resources... I don't need a fancy shiny operating system, I need an operating system that works... If I bought 2G of RAM, then I bought it to be used, but not to be used by an operating system, so I'd have to buy more RAM... Why do you thing businesses and corporations haven't made the switch from XP to Vista? Because it's cost ineffective... It would cost them millions to upgrade their computer systems, and millions more to buy Vista... And what do they get? Nothing... Just a big scam, that actually doesn't look that nice afterall... I'll just remind you of a Linux desktop managers, like Beryl, that has a rotating 3D cube, that runs smoothly on 1.6GHz computer, with 1GB RAM... Movie is playing on one side, music on the other, while internet is on the third... And all of thet is being watched from the top side, mirrored! And there's no hickups... Operating system is supposed to be designed to run in the background, not to be the front end application... Operating systems, by function, should consume as little computer power as possible, not the opposite... Why would a home user, who has no income from the computer, give away about 400-600 for they computer and OS, that will often hickup, when they can have a perfectly running compuet for 250? I could say that people who run Vista are people, who just happen to have too much money and spare time on their hands, and do not depend on their computer to make money... Sadly, M$ will eventually make people migrate from XP to Vista, just as they did make people migrate from Win98 to XP in the past... However, I won't be one of them...
  23. I suppose you people don't know how conspiracies work... There are many, MANY people involved in this... NASA is running the show, and many of those apparently non-governmental agencies and organisations, are actually a front for the governments... The fact that a single person sailed around the world, doesn't change the fact that those agencies can "forge" the reality...Video tapes can be forged, compasses altered to point to whatever direction one wants... There are no NON-NASA satelies... All, and I mean ALL satelites are the property of NASA or ESA, no matter what the sign says... Most of those agencies that launched the satelites, are a front for NASA or ESA, and any of the governments...Everything we know, everything YOU know, is just a fabrication of a few people, whose sole responsibility is to maintain that illusion of reality, we are all presented...Nothing you see up there, is real... Yes, planes fly... They are mere projections in the air, designed with purpose to maintain the illusion of planes actually flying... Technology we have available, is actually decades behind the actual technological progress of mankind... Only, governments can't allow us mere mortals to have access to it... Therefore, Intel, AMD, Cyrix, Motorola, all of those hardware manufacturers are actually a front companies for the governments...Nothing is real...
  24. Another update Trappers... Alex and I are still on the job, and I just want to say that another military instalation has fallen... We are still gathering all the data we can, and as soon as we finish, we will post it here...For now, we can with certainty say that the Earth itself has NO magnetic field of its own, that government uses some form of electromagnetic generators to create it, and manipulate it... That's how all the compasses work, and that's how noone ever came close to the ice wall... We have also tracked a computer programm that operates all GPS satelites, and we think that this is another way to steer unwanted visitors away from the wall...We're still being tracked by the government, and are using dial-up connections to post you updates... Once we have all the data, and we process it, we'll let you know of more... We're getting really close to finding what's this all about, as the security around bases is getting more and more difficult to penetrate...
  25. This is great! As always, OpaQue and Xisto keep bringing us great stuff every once in a while... This is just great...I have one question though (and it may be stupid and retarded):I have a TLD (.net), and I used "Change domain" option here on Xisto (https://support.xisto.com/) (actuallt BuffaloHELP helped me with that, thanks!)... Now, how do I change nameservers? Is there some section here on Xisto management system, that will let me edit my DNS records? I registered through a reseller (my ISP actualy), and they don't provide control panel for domains, that are not hosted with them, they say I must edit my records here, on Xisto, but I haven't seen such an option...Can someone help? How DO I change my name servers for the domain I own/
