    Xbox Live

In Halo this one guy was so racist. Pissed almost the whole team. He kepy on saying you stupid *BLEEP*. I wasn't a black but i mean he was so stupid saying it over and over again. There was a black there to and he didn't even say anything back. It was so annoying. But the game is fun and Xbox live is awesome so you should get it.
  2. I am currently playing "Zelda no Densetsu: Kaze no Takuto" or cof cof english "The legend of Zelda: The Windwaker" *O* it's my favorite GC game!!! i love it im taking the pictures, for the gallery OoO, and im also playing "Luigi's Mansion" haha i like it, but i love more the graphics of Windwaker, the childish look that they give the characters is so cute!
  3. the web http://programmersheaven.com/ will help you alot.I recommend you to use beginer tutorials just to read in the first time... You must know what is OOP and some algorithms and then you can make programs step by step.
  4. There are so many choice :DevC++ is OK and you also have Watcom c++ or you can just install GCC + Anjuta...anyway, you have many options. If you plan to go pro with making software and, someday, even selling them, I suggest you risk some money and order licensed Visual Studio .Net.
  5. I use Eclipse, it is a big IDE hasing lots of plugins actually. I usually use it with my java program. But now i found a plugin for php. You can use Apache, mysql, php in single tools. Another choice is Zend Studio. Zend is the company that is writing the scripting engine in PHP. It has a lot of features such as code completion and debugging. It's really nice. btw, Komodo is also a very nice editor that supports several languages.
  6. If you don't want to configurate the server your self download easyphp it setup php, apache and mysql automatically. Just uploading files to your host after every changes is just a waste off time. Yet another copied post: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/686-how-do-you-test-your-php-code/page-2#entry12842
  7. I am not new to web design, i got interested in it because of a good freind who's been playing around with websites for years now. He is always interested in something new and is usually willing to help people out. Can you give me a bit more detail on what sort of scale your website would be on. If it's going to be big he may not be able to fit it in, but if it's only a few page templates I will pass him the email address from your sig so he can get in touch. I should be browsing these forums fairly regularly so will try to get back to you asap.

    Java editor

I recommend you to choose one of thebelow: free Eclipse from IBM if you can configure it IDEA - not free, but very very good! JBuilder from Borland (big and slow) JDeveloper from Oracle (if you need write under Oracle - ver 9.0.5.2 is very nice) free JCreator LE- I've never used it, but I heard that is very fast Copied post, just swaped a few of the bits around: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/70-java-editor/
  9. At first i started messin with the internet i was using msn groups. so there was no need to learn html. then my isp started hosting websites so i kinda learned it through msn groups and developed it through random websites... i know a lot now and i sometimes use dreamweaver mx or so... lately i have just been codin it straight through notepad though.
  10. Obviously you dont have enough experience about php,but to actually help you, there are places where people post ads for programmers, and how much they are willing to pay to have their site made. just contact the people about the offer and then you may or may not get the job. sql (works with databases so you can store lots of data and dynamically create/request/destroy it) is also necessary. But if you want to be a pro I suggest you buy yourself a book. There's alot more to learn then just the basics of php and css. sql is also very powerfull (online shopping, logging, forums etc etc) so that is also a good choice to specialize in.
  11. First i have to say:Pop ups are really hated! If you really want to be hated i suggest u use this really hated popup (newbies may have problems with closing it )CODE <script language="JavaScript">window.open('xisto.com;, 'title')</script>So use it and make people pissed! Sometimes popups seem a little noobish cause a lot of free hosts that *BLEEP* use them.
  12. The best way I've seen this done is to use a splash page for the sound. So when people hit the site they get the index file that contains only the sounds and a "Enter" link. When the link is clicked, then main site loads as a popup. So the sounds can keep playing as long as the splash page is still in the background.
  13. The best right click protection are:oncontextmenu="return false" ondragstart="return false" onselectstart="return false"Put this code direct in body element. For example:<body topmargin="0" leftmargin="0" oncontextmenu="return false" ondragstart="return false" onselectstart="return false"></body>
  14. i strongly recommend you to buy a book on HTML, the best one is definitely "HTML in a nutshell" by O'Reilly. This one is to learn HTML, there is an even better one which is used as a reference book: "Dynamic HTML. The Definitive Reference". I am a web professional, I have used a lot of programming books over the years to help me through the hard times and I can tell you, the Definitive Reference on HTML is definitely the one I have used.
  15. I use CSS for everything it is possible to use it for! I can't see why anyone WOULDNT want to use it on their site. Cascading Style Sheets were introduced to provide cleaner, shorter coding and that is exactly what it does... Some people say its not "backwards compatible", but I mean, at the end of the day if you use an outdated browser its your fault really.
  16. i used to run a board, but i wasnt getting many members, only friends(non-Xisto). and even then it was only 1 or 2. i was using IPB 2.0.3. modded with the arcade, kenka rpg, shoutbox and unreal portal. but i removed it from my site and now im running a home page. anyways.. i find IPB way better than phpbb and all those other boards.
  17. The cool thing about CS:S is that like if you see a can on the ground, u can shoot at it and it'll fly around. And depending on your angle, the shootoff angle changes too. If you shoot at crates, dust will actually fly around. So It's a lot more realistic. (oh yea, can't forget u can shoot at dead bodies). The new CS:Source needs to be bought, so it's not free unless u wait till HL2 comes out and buy that or something. If I were you I won't buy CS:S now, wait till they optimize it and make it cheaper.
  18. Dungeon Seige is of a similar Point and Click RPG style. I enjoyed it for a long time, and as far as I knew there was quite a good online presence and quite a few mods as well.I played mainly single player so don't ask me about the Multi . It should also not be too heavy on the pocket, it's been out for a few years and should be in the budget ranged titles. I believe you can pick it up with the expansion for about AU$50... In my opinion it's definitely worth a try, although I'm not really into the point-click RPG stuff. (Which is why I can only recomment this one, because I haven't really played others of a similar vein.
  19. I think it's not resonable that anything should be censored, if someone doesn't want to see something they shouldn't look at it. Not only that, whos to say whats appropriate or inappropriate, because it isn't always clear. I think that many people overreact to something which isn't a very big deal. Just because you don't like something or think that it's inappropriate doesn't mean everyone thinks the same.
  20. I also like Fantasy Fiction very much! My favourite authors are Sara Douglass, David Eddings and Raymond Feist. The Riftwar Saga and the Troy Game are brilliant. Belgariad isn't too shabby either. I want to read the Song of Ice and Fire though, apparently that series is really good.
  21. My last readed is 'Atonement' by Ian McEwan! Everyone should definitely read it. The story follows a British family through WWII. One ordinary day at the country estate of the Tallises turns into the expedition of a man through France during the war followed by a daughter serving time in an army hospital. This was on my summer reading list, so I was a little apprehensive about it at first, but it was excellent.
  22. "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" by John Berendt is very good. It's about the author's time in Savannah, Georgia exploring the city and meeting interesting people. Berendt makes friends with one of Savannah's most notable people, Jim Williams, and later becomes his confidant when Williams is accused of murder. This is 100% real, yet it reads like a brilliant work of fiction. I can't remember how many times I've read it, but every time it gets better. I liked the book so much that my mom and I went on vacation to Savannah. We followed the 'official' tour following Berendt's travels. It's funny because in Savannah, Midnight.. has become known simply as 'The Book'. There are giftshops, tours, even a coffeehouse geared for fans of the book.
  23. I never planned on reading the Harry Potter books when they came out because they were too hyped up. I saw the first movie on dvd and it was good. Still didn't want to read the books... then I took my little sister to see the second movie at the theater and this lady behind me was explaining what was about to happen to her friend! So I planned on reading the books before the third movie came out just so that wouldn't happen to me again.

    Manga

Battle Angel Alita was kind of lame in some parts and I couldn't at all get into the story. These were more along the lines of plot-progression, and battle scenes ,sometimes the drawing is so clutered you can't make anything of it.Other parts are very cool, although the plot moves to quickly. Fortunately, you don't really FEEL that because it's not even within the grasp of reality anyway.
  25. i think 'Lemony Snicket' was just a thing my brother would walk around the house saying to annoy me. Turns out it's a book reference. lol I saw the preview for this movie in the theater the other day. The stylization looks incredible. I'm not one for children's movies, err rather movies based on children's books, but I think I'm going to have to go see this movie. I keep having dreams about it
