  1. I have a cat which I call "WangCai".It's a Chinese cat and it looks very very beautiful,When I'm walking around in my city with my cat, everybody is looking at him.
  2. I took the quiz. It was pretty cool. As for the bears and sharks, sharks are worse because I suck at swimming. I would have a small chance of escaping the bears.
  3. It's going to be hard to earn money using Adsense or Clicksor fast, unless you have a sucessful site, and interesting ads. The only thing to do is keep improving stuff, and when you don't think about it, you'll be surprised to see that you got your paycheck.
  4. I think the best way is to google for what yo are trying to do. Like if you are looking for the syntax of a 'while' statement, just google "php while loop". There are enough sites out there that you should find something useful in one or two clicks.
  5. I first started out like 6 years ago when i was in junior high, I did the rookie thing and used lots of frames. Then I moved into tables, and I'm still a huge fan of them. I remember when everyone used tables for everything. I havent done much designing in the past 3 years or so though, so I didn't break too much into using CSS to control layouts. Apparently thats the thing to do now, so I guess I'll have to learn. Theres seems to be a huge arguement over whats better. I still think tables are safer for browser compatability, which makes me tend to stick with them. Then asside from the HTML stuff I experimented a lot this year and learned javascript, asp (VBscript), and perl. So I'm definitely starting to incorporate those. More perl than anything. Recently I made a tool to randomly assign party jobs for my fraternity. It also lets you make specific assignments before the script runs. I'm also trying to write my own scripts for everything like form mail, and banner rotation etc instead of using the free ones online, so I learn more that way.
  6. So you have the Gameboy game and you played the playstation one?Thats waesome.I own the Playstation 1 and PS2 games.
  7. that game was NOT amazing. I mean i enjoyed playing it the first time but OMG It was so linear. It was like you couldn't go off on tangets which makes the other games great. And then the part that everyone waits for, the time you actually get your flying machine YOU DON"T EVEN GET TO CONTROL IT!! what type of crap is that.
  8. I would have to agree that Runescape is the worst mmorpg. But some good mmorpg's are Mu Online, Lineage 2, WoW and Ragnarok. Yes I know all these mmorpg's are for pay but you can search on google for private servers and you will find a lot for most of them, except for WoW which only has a few.
  9. My old site I ran myself, and the forum also. I don't imagine how it would be like to technically "own" your board, but only be like the moderator of it (even though you have webmaster capabilities) It's not the same feel as logging in to your forum and thinking "Heh, I could just delete this whole thing right... NOW!" lol. If you're the sinister minded type.
  10. I still prefer HotScripts.com, But this site has some nice scripts and coding resources that could be useful in future creations, so I added it to my fav list. I might take the time to actually go through the entire site and see what these women have to offer.
  11. Open source is software made for Non-profit, so its free, and if you was a developer you could look at the source code and tinker with it, closed-source is the opposite, developers don't allow you to look at their source code, and it isn't likely to be free, e.g Linux = open source, Windows = Closed Source!
  12. Just upload the file into a folder created in /public_html, then you'll need to setup a new MySQL datebase and give full permission for the database to a MySQL user. Then you usually just run a install.php file located somewhere in your forum folder.I'm not too familiar with YaBB, since it uses Perl, I dont know what other procedures you need to do before running.
  13. I value the community forums as a way of sharing a personal experience which a large amount of us would have to go through, in this case finding a proper way to code. However, when one reads the topic correctly you see that I want one rather specific - google cant tell you which have spyware or not, or what the actual customer satisfation is like (as it is traditional to make up testimonies!). So you see, canute24, questions like these need to be asked. If I took googles word as gospel I wouldnt get very far, would I? Even a powerful advanced search cant block me from all the rogue internet traders! No one can be trusted, but you guys do come closer than most methods on the internet.
  14. For php, html & CSS programming is the best editor i can have installed right now at my computer, i sincerely don't like the programs like dreamwaver or microsoft frontpage (im talking about creating html pages) because all of this META tags "extra" that they put in your page, i personally found them confusing because they make my html document a little heavy (in kb), and with the notepad y just can create every tag (of course it requires to memorize the tags and all that stuff..well it really doesn't..
  15. First, let me clarify: we're not making jewelry just to have an online store. !!! Just the opposite - the jewelry business is already there, the website is another potential outlet. We're not selling engagement rings for thousands of dollars, we're selling cut, pounded silver, and semi-precious stones & beads. Some of it is art and some of it is simple beadwork. I shouldn't have to explain this in order to ask a few questions about building a basic website. I had already decided to use Paypal until I learn more. I know my way around the internet and know that I also would not put my credit card number into an unknown void in cyberspace. Thanks for your advice. and the answer is, yes, I expect people to buy jewelry online. I don't however expect YOU to buy jewelry online. There are people who will and people who won't. It's an experiment, I'm not expecting to get rich here, as I said - it's one more POTENTIAL outlet.
