  1. Spawn.. i agree with you. Humans DO need to pursue self-awareness to achieve any measure of happiness as an individual.. unfortunately (as far as i can tell) this isn't a widespread philosophical truth in Christian communities. I was raised baptist; when faced with difficult questions i burned with, my parents and their peers would often reply with "we are not meant to question... all will be made clear when we reach God." That usually meant upon death. I think the idea is that there is no need for individual development... you submit your identity to God.. and to the christian community.. and to your family. What i couldn't make them understand is that some of us don't have that option... some of us were born with questions to which we MUST have answers, and we can't surrender ourselves to a community that fails to provide satisfactory answers to those questions. Some of us are left with no option but to find those answers ourselves. My mother, in particular, was aware of this struggle ... but she percieved it as a battle between God and the devil over my soul. In her eyes, the devil won out.I'm an occultist now, and i 'pray' in my own way. For me, God isn't an invisible friend that listens to my pleas when no one else will, or a Man in the sky who loves me as an individual as my mother or father does, to whom i can hand a wishlist to be fulfilled according to my whim. God is a visible and active force that oversees and permeates all things.. that forces all things to adhere to its Laws and patterns. According to this force, Our cells are held together, our synapses fire, trees grow the way they do, the wind and the water moves to keep this place habitable to life... all of these things should be impossible in the face of entropy, and the "chance and coincidence" that made them so are literally the machinations of God. God speaks through order and seeming coincidence, and can be turned to when we cannot understand our places in the interactions of 'all things under heaven.' God does speak, but most of us explain the omens away as "merely coincidence'. Take out the 'merely' and you have the voice of God. Coincidence. Synchronicity of pattern. We have a saying in the circles i frequent: "you find what you seek." Too many of us view the subject from the modern bias that 'God is improbable," and when we look around with our conditioned vision we find exactly that: the improbability of God. This view itself comes from faith... faith in what our fellow man tells us. Too many of us listen when others tell us God does or does not exist, or tell us what God is or is not. We don't have to listen to the various factions of men who battle for what we will believe.. and try to tell us what is in front of us. We have eyes to see for ourselves, whether God gave them to us or not. Believe whatever you feel compelled to, just make sure such compulsion doesnt come from other men, with their own human agendas.. involving you.
  2. Supposedly, rumor has it in certain circles of occultists and conspiracy theorists.. there are sorcerers under the employment of several governments for that very purpose.Keyword: Supposedly.
  3. SorE 2 C that it bugs you, but I'm a HUGE fan of bastardizing the english language. Actually, i dont generally use it in email and posts, but in chats and PMs i do. Mostly because i'm trying to keep a conversational pace while typing and i just want to get the point across as quickly as possible... my fingers just dont seem to move fast enough =P

  5. Three vampires walk into a bar. The bartender says "what can i get you guys?"the first says "i'll have a bloody mary".the second orders a bloody caesar(sp?).the third says "i'll just have a cup of hot water."the other two vampires and the bartender all sort of stare at him dumbfoundedly. He pulls something out of his coat pocket and looks back up to see them starting. He says, "What?! I'm having tea!" and holds up the bloody tampon defensively.
  6. I'm having this problem too. I'm at 8 posts, which is the same as yesterday. It apparently hasn't counted the five i've just done. None of them were spam. None of them were new threads. hmm.Well.. its going back up now.. but several of my posts from yesterday are missing, though they went through when i made them. is there any reason they would have been 'pruned' **thinks** maybe they were too long.
  7. I have 2 very close 'active' friends -- my coven sisters -- And a handful of close friends/lovers from my past that i cross paths with from time to time.I also have 1 arch-nemesis who's been haunting my life for over 12 years now... he's been trying to set up death-traps for me for the last 5... i think i've finally gotten rid of him tho **crosses fingers**

  9. I definitely believe in ghosts, goblins, and unseen denizens of this world and others. I'm an occultist, so my life would be a lot less spectacular without them.Anyone heavily interested in this stuff.. or in anything occult related, should visit my site when i get it up.. it won't be much, but that's the theme. My small coven and I will be on running a chat and avfew forums, posting archives on techniques and stuff. **Grinz** Keep in mind its my first site, so dont judge too harshly. It will evlove. (its not up yet, but it'll be @ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/)

  12. I'm a bit disturbed at hearing so many people defend this. Words dont suddenly up and change meaning, they evolve.. and with each stage of evolution it still retains part of what it was. Yes, 'gay' used to mean 'happy and carefree'.. eventually it came to represent homosexuality because of the stereotypes that homosexuals dont make families and have children, so the lifestyle was thought to be frivolous and self-gratifying. "Gay" evolved from that because being homosexual was not a socially desireable thing to be. It still retains part its last transition.. the reason you call someone/something gay is to express that it is an object of social stigma... like homosexuality.. it is a cruel reminder and it isn't that most queers simply "don't mind"... we've become desynthesized to the whole thing. It's precisely those little words that you dont think matter that keep your queer children and friends from telling you what they are.. you repeatedly and unconsciously tell them that you think "gay" is a lame, bad, or ridiculous thing to be. Whether you mean it as an insult or not.. it forces anyone who values your opinion that may BE gay to lock themselves up tighter and close themself off emotionally in order to be accepted. Watch yourselves, folks.. you may be hurting/helping repress someone you care for on daily basis and not even know it. It's much more common than you realize; and if you dont think you know a gay person.. just look a little closer.
  13. Hi. Online, i'm mostly known as Toyclergy. I'm an eclectic occultist (or chaos witch, whichever you prefer) in his mid-twenties, discovering the joys of webcraft for the first time. I recently got a domain for my small coven and I, and i've been scouting for a place to host it while i learn the basics of HTML, Javascript, PHP, and the like. **grinz** i haven't gotten very far yet.So far, i like the looks of the place and i hope to be around for awhile.Cya around.
  14. Hamsters are ok, i've only had one and that thing was a friggin' escape artist. She would push her staircaise under her wheel, balance herself on it, twist open the latches and run to mother's closet. We always found her inside Mom's shoes. Now I have a Rat named Lucy (her mother was Wilhelmina -- i was reading Dracula when i got them). i carry her around with me and teach her to steal things. I cant get her to steal paper money without shredding it tho =(.
  15. Nader's Great! He's the only cadidate that seems to give a rats *bottom* for our real interests.. **grinz** and he's a disgusted with the whole political race as many of us Voters are. Of course he'll never win IF NOONE VOTES FOR HIM!! We're conditioned by the media (which are controlled by the two major parties) into percieving only Two choices for presidents and believing that no one else stands a chance. HOGSHITE. dont give into that brainwashing crap! Nader was VERY close to recieving federal funding for his party last election (i think it was the Green Party?).. a few more votes and he would have had it. I think that's why everyone's trying so hard to push him out this time. the democrats and republicans dont want a Third party in the race. Vote for who you want.. for who you believe stands for your better interests.. If you vote for the "lesser of two evils," both of which give you the creeps. you're falling into their trap and robbing yourself of a real voice
  16. Hmm.. I'm gonna have to say there's nothing wrong with it. In a world where almost everyone is online, i don't see how bumping into someone and hitting it off is any different than meeting at a public place. You're still MEETING a person.. but different aspects of them are 'visible' at first.I know a lot of people who've had successful matchups online.. i think the "success rate" isn't much lower than dating anywhere else. I do have to say, though, many people do fall into long online "relationships" that aren't really relationships at all. They seem to delude themselves into thinking that they're MUCH closer than they are; there are some levels you simply CANT connect or progess on together except through time spent in person. **grinz** i guess i mean finding people that interest you online isn't so bad, but i hardly think you can call someone your bf/gf if you've never been physically in the same room together. They would just be an 'interest.'
  17. I'm disgusted with the whole thing at this point. I vote Nader, because he wants what i want: more choices on the ballots and an end to the rule of the Money grubbing whiners in both parties. I dissapprove of the "War on Terrorism" entirely. 1) because 'terrorist' is an incredibly generic term that smacks loudly of mob mentality like 'witch' or 'communist' did in the witch trials and cold wars. I think getting us all riled up about these "terrorist" is a way to justify to the populace someone's god awful political agenda (namely Bush's). 2) because we probably aren't as picture-perfectly justified as everyone's making us out to be. Anyone who's taken a course on current anthropology probably knows we're still doing what we did to the Natives of North America... only overseas.. we take advantage of foreign peoples' ignorance of our ways, bind them into contracts they barely understand.. make them extremely indebted to us by lending them money to "set them up with the rest of the world" via the World Banks and give them no real way to support themselves IN the world system, and then proceed to strip them of all their resources. Our 'choices' this election.. just like last.. are a joke. I really don't think our Leaders really care about us anymore. We dont have real Leaders anymore.. we dont have Heroes. Either of the primary candidates are probably leading us straight to Hell at best.
  18. I'm a virgo =P and yeah.. i pretty much fit it. I'm a self-critical perfectionist who works life like a puzzle, and i love talking/hearing about ME!! Buuut... i'm really lazy, and i think we're supposed to be really industrious.. o well. Everyone has a Moon sign as well, but the moon changes houses every hour or so, so you have to know what hour you were born to figure it out.. **grinz** and i cant remember, so i don't know mine. That one's supposed to describe how we feel inside as opposed to how we act (which is the sun sign... the one everyone knows) Actually i think we're supposed to have a bunch.. but i think those are the two most important.. I'm more into Tarot and mediumship than astrology.
  19. I came across a review on the following freewebhosting site. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The reviews were good, my intuitions tingled, and i'm looking for a place to experiment with my site. I figured i'd check it out. I don't really understand the forum requirement, but i generally enjoy forums so this might just work out. cya around.
