  1. What model of ASUS are you using? Mine, ACER, have a software something like a Recovery Disk. Always remember, when you open or run your newly bought laptop, run that program first, because it should backup the "Default" settings of your new laptop onto a CD or DVD. I personally recommend to use DVDs because with CDR, you'll end up with more than 4-6 cds, on a DVD, you'll only use one. Single layer. 4.35 GB one.
  2. A question, i'm a member here, and a question, can my files in this server before my account was inactive, can be restored? and i'm interested in paid hosting the problem is, how can i pay it? i'm here in the philippines.
  3. Hello it's me again. It seems that not everyone replied to my post in this site http://forums.xisto.com/topic/42003-whats-up-everyone-its-me-so-sad/ Please do answer my questions like: Thanks guys again! Notice from BuffaloHELP: PM sent to user for promoting own post and posting in the wrong section. This is one of the reasons why topic title is VERY important. Posts merged.
  4. It's been... i think more than 6 months since my last post here in Xisto. How's everyone doing?I miss the old days in front of my computer. Everyday when I wake up, the first thing I do is to post here because aside the wonderful hosting services, there's a wonderful community here :)I don't know what happened to my computer because I over clocked it. And, it also damaged my other memory card, and a smoke appears inside the CPU! But somehow i'm thankful because, because of computes, I didn't have a wonderful social life and to experience life outside the house. Now my social life is .. okay. Always meeting new people everyday . :)Now, what's up with Xisto and what's new? Can someone please update me what's happening? How's the hosting? I think i'm also not updated with technologies nowadays at least 2-4 times a week I login but you know, Friendster, chatting, not the whole routine I do in front of my computer, like this, posting in the forums, because it consumes most of my time. The Community Boards.Shocking. Macromedia and Adobe are merged together. Can someone update me on this? What's up with Firefox? Please update me, although I use Firefox 2 here in the Internet Cafe, i downloaded it :PWhat's up with Windows XP and Microsoft? And, I hope my Dad give me his new laptop. I want to transform it into a Video Editing and PHP Making machine. Any suggestions in the hardware and software? I want a wonderful and stable editing laptop machine. Before i am using Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7. Whatls up with version 8? Does it support multipe camera angles? What kind of video editor to use? I wanted to try Avid or Edius (canopus). But what version? Help. Is it right to use it and is it worth it?And finally, what's up with PHP? I miss creating scripts and making websites.By the way, i was making a business card, I tried photoshop 8 and my god it's difficult to use!!!!! How to use photoshop?! It's not friendly. Do you think PhotoImpact is friendlier than Photoshop 8? It's a lot easier to understand... But i think Adobe products are powerful. How about AfterEffects? Also difficult to use ... and is Combustion, is it always popular than AfterEffects and do many people use it?Thanks and God bless! I miss everything!
  5. This is only my available time to log on the internet. I am soo busy with studying. But please help me my account reached -33 hosting credits... please help me, by lowering it, a little nearer to positive... thanks...
  6. I was talking about the black fade that is too slow (at least in my opinion). The time the texts show up are fine.
  7. I think the Fading info box which have some important announcements and information is too slow. It fades out and fades in too slowly. I lose patience to read it because I have to wait longer for the next text to show up. It's purpose is to get people to look at it and see the announcements (and some ads), right? But I don't think it's working.
  8. Yeah! I agree! More emoticons/smileys please! Or change the useless ones with more useful emoticons. But I understand if this is not a priority.
  9. Yeah, that's what I thought too when I read this topic. Just make a thread about pets on the General forum.
  10. I think it's really unfair that the discussions in the Music, Creativity, and Entertainment forums are not counted but most of the computer-related forums are counted. If you think about it....what else can we talk about in the computer sections? I see a lot of repeating topics there, and also most of the time replies become redundant in a particular thread because it's being repeated even though it's already been answered by other members. If the problem is people might abuse the system by just copying articles or reviews from other sites.....then it should be required that members should just put it in a QUOTE so it wouldn't add to the post length.
  11. Unfortunately, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is not offering DNS at this time. Actually, it's been like that for a long time now....I don't know when they will offer it again or if they ever will.
  12. Wow! I knew it that Google will release something like that! Wow! Let me try it when I get home!
  13. You have a wonderful website. First of all, feel free to choose templates or a ready-made design for your site. It's really helpful for a beginner like you. Second, use a WYSIWYG Editor. Something like Macromedia Dreamweaver. Third, master those two, and move to PHP. Updating website designs using PHP is alot easier, and the content of your webstie is alot easier to update. If you are too lazy, use a Content Management System which uses PHP. Mamboo for example.
  14. Sometimes. And dreams that come true are probably called Deja Vu. It would be great if you will always dream of the future, you can use it as a wonderful guide. There are many guides on enhancing your dreams on the internet. One guide teaches you how to record and monitor your dreams, which is a wonderful thing. There's also a guide in which you can dream of the future...

    Forum Software

I suggest making your own, so that you will know what exactly is happening on your forum software and also on your forum. Or, use any forum software or forum script that is really stable, and has no security exploits everytime the developer releases them.
  16. I think the solution to stop those stupid count down things is to do the following: 1. Click Start and choose Run. 2. Type shutdown -a and press enter. 3. The countdown to shutdown will be bypassed. Simple as that.
  17. Well, just wondering, many Video Editors especially those who works in Television shows, they uses Mac for Video Editing, and uses Avid or Final Cut Pro. Well, I think Windows is the best for Video Editing because many Video Editors support it, and VirtualDub supports it. Windows is really stable, and not vulnerable to viruses and spywares if you have the proper tools. First, you must have a wonderful and powerful Firewall, and Anti-virus. Second, do not use Internet Explorer. Use Firefox. That's it. My computer has no worms and has no spywares and viruses.

    Asp Or Php

For me, PHP is a wonderful, fast, and easy-to-learn scripting language. I'm sure that you will really love it, and it runs in all kinds of system! And, PHP is a lot faster than ASP, believe me. There are many forums who uses ASP, then after having many members in their forums, their server is really slow. After switching to PHP, even if they had more than a hundred thousand members, their system is still fast and stable!
  19. Ok, let's say AJAX is the best. But let's face it, in one country, probably 25% of the people there uses Windows 98 with Internet Explorer 5.5 installed, how they will be able to view AJAX-based websites? Or you can make an HTML-only version of your AJAX website. It takes time, but at least you are sure that your website is 100% compatible.
  20. I like your site, only it would be nicer if you don't use the Times New Roman font. And please if you can, code your website without using a WYSIWYG Editor. And use CSS instead of Tables... it's the modern way of making a website, as well as the website design, and finally, use PHP, it's a lot easier to maintain and change the layout of the website when you use that powerful scripting language. Good luck!
  21. This tutorial is really usefull for PHP programmers. I suggest including the original RegEx thingy before the PregEx thingy. Did you get what I said? It's really hard to explain. Again, this is a really usefull tutorial! Good job!
  22. I suggest using the include() function.. anyways, try using the QUOTE bbCode when posing a PHP code. Because a moderator or an Admin might warn you.
  23. I think it's a wonderful show. Even though I haven't watch it, I think it will really be a heat here in the Philippines. It's called Pinoy Big Brother, here's the website http://entertainment.abs-cbn.com/tv/shows/pbb/main it's I think a little-modified version of the original Big Brother, they modified it so that it won't be that boring.
  24. I suggest creating the website from scratch. If you are not a good designer, then find free templates on the net. Then modify the images a little. Then seperate the header and the footer, then make your PHP-based page and use the include() function to include the header and the footer, and it's really easy when you are planning to change the site's design. Just change the header and the footer and you are all done. It's a good thing if you wanted your site to change the design, if there are holiday evens, example, Christmas... enjoy... Mambo is a wonderful PHP-software script, but I find it rather confusing and I can't customize it.. and i mean customize, example, removing the login and log-out box... why not try drupal and see if you like it?
  25. I think a seperate phone and mp3 would be great because mp3's will eat alot on your phone, which I think, will make your cellphone slower and slower... Having a seperate mp3 like iPod would be great
