  1. well let's see... 1, 3 and 4 don't apply here and 2 doesn't fit since these 99 statements are not verified, in fact some reportedly do not apply to all guys Oops, none of the defintions fit... so in fact (pun intended) this list doesn't contains no facts. And by the way... a fact which can be proven wrong ain't a fact.
  2. one of the worst 'lists' ever... its nice if you think you have to write a list like that about yourself but just assuming that everybody is as ignorant as you just shows how ignorant some authors of those lists are...
  3. I drive a 2000 Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDi. It's my first car and I bought it used, it came with sport suspension and a nice body-kit in bright yellow. Works great and I like it a lot. My next car will probably be an Audi if i can afford it. I really love driving my Dad's A4.My dream car would be any Lamborghini, Diablo or newer.
  4. Since I recently discovered pandora.com I've been absoluetly amazed by the music collection they play according to your preferences and I've been thinking that it should be possible to timeshift songs for later listening. So I started looking around the Internet and came across 3 major choices: Manual 3tunes Audiostream recorders Manual The pandora.com app stores the music files in a folder called plugtmp or plugtmp-# where # is a number. The location of the folder depends on where your browser stores its cache. For Firefox user who haven't changed the default setting it would be "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp". Just go to Start -> Run type %temp% and hit enter, this will open up the folder. The songs are stored as files with the name access-#, # beeing a number with the second to highest number the currently playing song. All you have to do is copy the file and rename it to yourtitel.mp3 and there you go! You'll have to do this while pandora is open since it automatically empties the plugtmp folder open closing of the application. This method works great if you just want to once-in-a-while save a song, of course manually tagging it can be a real pain if you prefer to more regularly timeshift a few pieces. 3tunes 3tunes is an app specifically written for recording tracks of pandora.com. It is still in early stages of development and has a few bugs, although the latest release has made tremendous improvements. If you hear a good song it is easy to just start 3tunes and let the application record and tag the song for you after it finished playing. Although handy for single songs, it's main advantage lies in timeshifting songs in a row. Say you're on dialup and want to listen to pandora: You set pandora to your favorite station before you go to bed, fire up 3tunes and leave both running overnight. In the morning you'll be able to listen to all the songs pandora played without nasty lags interrupting your listening pleasures. Audiostream recorders Basically any program which lets you record audistreams in realtime will allow you to record the songs from pandora.com. Their advantage is that they let you record any audiostream, which means they are not limited to pandora but can record virtually everthing which exits your speakers. Good recorders, such as Replay Music (Shareware) will also automatically tag most of your songs if it can identify them. Just my 5 cents on how to get even more out of pandora.com. I hope this helps you and remember if you enjoy their service support them by getting a paid subscription!
  5. Yeah shutterstock is pretty neat. I haven't uploaded any pictures yet, but I'm considering it. I wouldn't expect the big bucks though unless you're a professional photographer. You need really good pics and lots of them to make some money, just your vacation shots won't do it.
  6. Here's the link to the site of the actual developer: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Would be kinda cool to see this released soon, I wouldn't mind skipping the money spending on blu-ray and HD-DVD drives. Just because some stupid corporations couldn't agree on a standart means that I have to spend extra money on 2 drives... way to make your consumers happy. A single-standart holographic disc would be great, only one single drive and I could back up my ard drive onto a singel disk. Plus best of all... a whole season of CSI on one disk! I definetly hope this will be ready soon.
  7. just FYI: the "adult" relates to the size of the shirt, not the design on the shirts
  8. yes, as uiop said, winrar should be able to open .bin, if not an image burner can burn it to CD.IMHO the solution to your problem is called "broadband"... even the cheapest dial-up is still paying to much money compared with the boradband prices out there today.

    Can't Open Pdf

Check these, all possible options:- Do you have Acrobat reader installed?- If yes: try reinstalling? (If no: you need it to view pdf files, get it from http://www.adobe.com/)- Check file associations, maybe some program screwed up file associations and pdf is not assigned to reader anymore.- Check for spyware, sometimes mal and/or spyware can mess up your system. If none of these help: what do you mean by "and then stops", do you get any error messages? time-outs? Have you tried saving the file to your harddisk and then openning it? are you able to open up pdf's on your harddisk?Hope I could help some, you gave little information so I can only assume as to what might cause the problem.
  10. I usually don't do signatures, but I felt like procrastinating so I quickly whipped something up. Wanted it to go with my name so here it is. Done in Photoshop: - 20 minutes (apart from my Logo) - No textures - Only one generic brush - Font: Trajan Pro - Filters: Motion Blur, Wind I did my logo a while ago and usually use it to sign my work. Skteched it out on a piece of paper, scanned it, traced it as vectors. Added the box and name. (name can't be seen in the sig, complete logo) Constructive criticism always welcome!
  11. Hibernation actually turns your pc off. Unlike stand-by the data is not kept in the RAM but rather written to the harddrive and reloaded upon reboot. Even with Hibernation you still need to do regular reboots since otherwise your system will seriously clutter up and slow down over time, this might not be evident at first but if you go for a month without restart and then reboot you'll notice the difference. Personally I don't use hibernation since I usually keep my pc running for a few days at a time and when I turn it off it is time to do a complete reboot anyways. I removed all unnecessary clutter from the startup, optimized my services (start->run->services.msc) and my computer, from pressing the power button to the complete boot with everything loaded, takes less than 13 seconds. A good tool to help you optimize bootimes is BootWiz from MS, they offered it for a while on their homepage but removed it for unknown reasons, but everybody can find it with a bit of searching. Just google it. Besides unnecessary programs cluttering your startup another major (though often overlooked) factor is drivers. Having the right, up-to-date drivers is crucial to optimizing boot times and one should also remove all unnecessary drivers from the system. Have a look at your Device Manager to make sure there are no conflicts. Also make sure your network cards are configured correctly so that they don't get stuck looking for an IP they won't receive. A good place for all kinds of tips on optimizing your system is https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default.aspx. They have quality tips and tricks and really know what they are talking about.
  12. I usually get 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night, works pretty well for me and it allows me to sometimes get less sleep if necessary. On weekends I get about the same amount, sometimes a bit more. My personal record of going without sleep is 63 hours and even though I was tired after that I was still ok and able to function. Just FYI: The world record is 264 hours without sleep (11 days) set by a 17 year old student (forgot his name) and on the last day he held a press conference and was still able to speak and act properly.
  13. Thsi should work with every browser but I know it dos with IE and Firefox: When you hit compose mail and then type the first (or the first few) letter(s) of teh recepients name or mail address gmail will automatically pop-up a window underneath the To: Field from which you can easily select whoever you wanna send the mail too.
  14. Yup, something is fishy here lol, doesn't look like any filestorage at all...
  15. That's such a naive answer... if we stop exporting to them, they'll just raise the price or worse stop exporting oil altogether.... see who's economy collapses first... the world is relying way to much on it at the moment to even think about anything like that.
  16. Did you even read what I said instead of just quoting it: A LOT of poeple owning a legal version have problems with this patch. Would you rather have MS locking up your legaly owned system just because there's a stupid little mistake in a patch they applied? I totally agree with Florisjuh
  17. As was to be expected a lot of legal users have problems with this "Windows is not genuine" crap... proof can be found here Not noly that, but for all those running a pirated version, not even 24 hours after the release it took me less than 5 minutes to find an easy workaround. There already are different methods as can bee seen here or here. Of course I don't encourage pirating software but for all those who own a legal version of it and still get the annoying messages, those are workarounds until Microsft gets off their lazy derriers and fixes it... Personally I haven't been affected(that's because I don't let Microsoft decide what updates go onto my computer), but a friend of mine has had the problems and I can see how annoying it is. My suggestion is turning of automatic dowload of the updates since letting Microsoft handle it is like letting a thieve install the alarm system of your house...not a good idea, as they have proven yet again... All they're doing is annoy their customers and the pirates, which MS is trying to go after, are rolling on the floor laughing. My congratulations to Microsoft: You managed to screw your customers over yet again!
  18. As I said earlier... try living in Europe, poeple have been paying 5$ and up a gallon for a long time and nobody has been complaining.
  19. 2.80$ a gallon is dirt cheap, in some european countries poeple pay as much as 6$ or 7$ a gallon, the best way to save on gas is to reduce overall consumption. In other words drive a car with high mpg, learn a few tips on how to save gas, walk across the street to buy that box of donuts, etc. Oh btw, reducing overall consumption is also the only way to get gas prices to come down. Boycotts of one day won't work since poeple still need gas and they'll just buy more the day before or afterwards. Boycotting a few companies won't work either for reasons of market dynamics. What do we learn from all this: Drive a low mpg car with hindsight and save big on gas. Now everybody knows that an Audi A4 is not the best car to choose when going for fuel economy, but Audi did a nice job. I managed to drive an Audi A4 in 6th gear at roughly 60 mph behind a truck at above 65 mpg which basically means I was driving cheaper than most Americans even though I paid 2 to 3 times the price to fill the tank and its just a great feeling if you can go more than 800 miles with one filling of the tank. I Admittedly this was an all-day highway trip from Luxembourg to southern France but it and I was not able to keep it at >65 mpg during all of the trip but it gets my point across.
  20. Short note to the poster: the post belongs in regional > Europe section since Chernobyl lies in Europe. This map shows nicely how the radioactive cloud spread over Europe and how strongly winds affected the spread of radiation. The east of Chernobyl is almost completely untouched. Since I'm from Europe and was born only a year before it happened, I can't recall the incident, but my parents told me that even the poeple in Luxebourg were told not to eat any vegtables from their home gardens for 2 years after the nuclear cloud passed over us. Scary thought. Here is another interesting link to a photostory of the visit of the Ghost town: http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/chapter1.html Read through it all, it is very interesting.
  21. Of course it might happen again, chances are slim but never say never... I live only a few miles from a french nuclear plant and although one hears a lot of stories, I think it is rather safe.
  22. As far as windows genuine goes.. its more a joke than anything else. It doesn't even take 15 minutes of reserach to get around it, fetch the important upgrades and ignore the rest.... this little popup won't change much except scare a few hardworking unsuspecting home users out of an extra couple bucks.
  23. Wow, great work and nice pose Would be interesting to see it with a background.
  24. This sounds awefully like a virus which was going around a couple years ago. This Microsoft KB article should help you. There are a few removal tools out there which take care of the problem quick and easily. Of course you might wanna post more information or make sure for yourself that actually is the problem and not something else.
  25. Or you could just caryy this around with you all the time I can't imagine anybody who'd attack you if you carry that
