What if there was a new browser which was so much better in Firefox in all ways. Would you ditch firefox and switch?

I reckon most town are full of chav's but they don't really bother me. I don't care how they act or dress - they don't do anything to me, so I don't have a problem with them. The term "chav" is now being used to describe football hooligans and vandals and teenage tearaways, which I think is unfair. Although the word has no definitive meaning, I think that the examples listed above, should be called football hooligans, vandal, and teenage tearaways respectively. Coleen (Rooney's girlfriend) is a typical example of a chav, and yet I haven't seen her going round throwing punches! I think I can completely agree with the posters above. It sometimes is really hard to come up with things to say in order to raise your hosting credits. I'm finding that in the computer sections, everything I might consider talking about has been covered to death by others, and everyone's made the same point that I was going to make, and so I end up not posting for fear of being penalized for not having anything valid to contribute! Anyway, I'm sure that a lot of you refrain from commenting on certain threads, as it seems like you're just rewording what someone else wrote! This section adds to your hosting credits, which is something I only realised a few days ago! So hopefully I will end up finding it a lot easier to contribute, as long as you guys keep on getting angry! :(EDIT: And the above post just raised my hosting credits by 1.5 days! Wasn't hard!

I much prefer this version of MSN Messenger, they've gotten rid of that terrible icon at last! The look's been improved further as well.

I think that's a rather ignorant statement to make. If there was a kid who was really good at chess and was always sensible and never behaved badly; would he be a hypocrite for calling another kid who throws waterbombs at people, immature? I don't think so.

Unfortunately, it seems that in many cases, people who advise students on how to prevent bullying, have never been on the recieving end. I bet that if the teachers did anything, it would be to tell the bullys "Stop It". This would most probably result in them calling you a snitch and/or bullying you worse for telling on them. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but let's not pretend that we're in some fantasy land where telling the teacher about bullying will make it all better. You should confide in your circle of friends and always try to be with someone. If it's not a case of bullying, more that you seem to be having trouble fitting in, then what I would suggest is that you find a common interest with the other students and build on it. If you're okay at sports, maybe you could join in with any activities that might be going on. Think about what they like to do? If you like to do it as well, and you're pretty good at it, ask to join in. If you were a great baseball player, I'm sure the kids would talk to you more often! Oh, and no offence, but if the teachers aren't doing anything, then it shows how crappy your school is . Maybe you could ask your parents to move to another one?

Dunno how it's done in Canada, but in the UK, only you can request to see what data the Police or Home Office (Government) hold on you. If google gave all the data to the government, I reckon it would take them a long time to process and pinpoint the search requests to your home computer.

I'm not at all surprised that you are sick of stupid immature people such as the ones you'e mentioned above. I reckon that eventually (hopefully) they'll all mature, but because they have an image to maintain, they'll go around making ignorant comments. Apparently it's "cool". Anyway, eventually you'll leave school and most of them will grow up - those who don't will probably end up jail... Trust me, almost every state school has people in it like that. At least you can say to yourself "I'm better than those pathetic losers!"

In a way, I suppose it depends on what it is exactly your site believes in. Really they shouldn't be invading your site at all, but there are certain topics which just wind people up. I'm not making any assumptions, just saying it as I see it.

I don't use a software firewall anymore, as I've got one in my router, but when I was on Dial-up, Zone Alarm was the firewall I chose. I tried Kerio, and Sygate - didn't like them.

The first computer I owned was a Windows 3.1 machine back in 1994. (you can tell it's old as it had a turbo button ) It had a 486DX processor, speed was 66Mhz. Clearly it's slow compared to todays computers, but I wouldn't really say it ran slowly, as the software on there was so old itself, everything moved fine. It even had Microsoft Office 4.3 on it! I upgraded it to Windows 95, and that's when it started to slow down. I've still got it today, and it still works!

I use Gmail, as it has POP3 support, and has a nice clean interface, and has 2gb storage. I doubt I could ever fill it up.

I don't leave my comptuer on 24/7, as it will wear out the hardrive and run the electricity bills. Also, my computers starts acting funny if it has been left on for more than 96 hours!

I find that MSN Messenger is more reliable than trillian, and I think that it's easier to use. Though, if you have Yahoo, MSN and AIM accounts, and want to talk to people on all three, without running three clients, Trillian probably would be your best choice.

I used Boilsoft before. It never managed to sucessfully convert anything. The First 20 seconds of the video was fine, and then all of a sudden, the picture froze but the audio continued as normal. As you can imagine, I didn't bother buying the full version...

My main use for the computer now, to help maintain my community website. I also do what most other people do on their computers - use msn messenger, check email, post on various forums, play some games. and do some work.

If you click here, you can completly remove flash from your pc. Then try going here to install Macromedia Flash 7. Once installed, it should come up with a pop-up saying that there is an update for Flash player. This will take it up to version 8 and will install on all browsers.

I think it was free, but is no longer available through Invision. I'm sure there are copies floating around on the internet, but I'm not sure how legal it would be to install.

Loads of people are probably going to start hiding their secret files in the system32 folder! That's what I do!

There's a light version of Windows XP in Asian countries and I believe it has the limit of running 3 applications simultaneously. It also has a limit on the display resolution. It's cheaper than XP Home and was designed to prevent software piracy which is high in those areas. When I buy Vista (which won't be untill at least one year after it has been released) I will probably buy Home Premium. Ultimate will have loads of features I'll never use, and it would be pointless for me to waste my money on it.

The Ultimate version, is likely to be very expensive. and will probably include features that some users don't need and wont use. Therefore, they'd be better off saving money and buying Home Basic or Home Premium to suit their needs. One idea which I cannot claim credit for, as I did read it elsewhere, was that Microsoft could have Home Basic with a trial of Home Premium, and then after 30 days, the home premium features are disabled, and to re-enable them, the user must then purchase a licence for Home Premium. Same thing for Business and Enterprise. I do agree that 8 versions is a bit much - all sounds a bit confusing now, but I suppose we'll get used to it.

I reckon a lot of people have that problem. First floppy disks became too small to perform backups, and now cd's and dvd are becoming too small as well. Backing up is just too much hassle for the home user, and that 's why you'll find that a lot of people don't bother. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't believe Windows XP Home came with the backup utility already installed.
