  1. If you go to https://support.xisto.com/ you can register a .net domain for $9.99/year using your MyCents. So, if you post regularly enough it'll basically be free.
  2. Hey varalu, I've just started using bbPress recently, and it's very good. It does lack some of these basic functions which is a bit of a shame, though. I've had a look in the bbPress Plugin Directrory and found some plugins which do what you were asking: bbPress Polls - I'm not sure whether you can limit it to only moderators creating polls, but it would be worth looking into bbPress Signatures - it's written by _ck_ (the same person who wrote bbPress Polls) - he's quite well-regarded in the bbPress community. Seems to fit your requirements exactly. Simple Onlinelist - displays a list of who's online I haven't actually tried any of these plugins out yet, so I can't say whether they're any good or not. I do have some of _ck_'s other plugins running on my forum though, and they work quite well. Best of luck with these.
  3. It might not work for those of you on Gamma (which currently isn't online), but I've been able to access my cPanel on Theta by going to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It might be worth trying the same thing to access your cPanel - you'll need to change the URI if you're on a different server, though.
  4. In all fairness, moving all their servers from one datacentre to another is a big and complicated task; it's likely all the people were too busy with the servers to answer your ticket quickly. Not to mention they probably had hundreds of similar tickets from other people who were wondering what happened. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ shows all the servers as being online again, but I'm still having trouble with mine. I am on a very slow (GPRS) connection, though - it might just be that. Can anybody else get on?
  5. Xisto are physically moving their servers - there's an announcement on Xisto - Support about it. They've been down since at least 7AM BST (when I woke up and realised I couldn't check my email ), so nearly 12 hours now.
  6. I was kind of hoping that, seeing as I posted a .SVG, people could take it and make whatever sizes and things they wanted...But yeah, sure ;)I'll do them in "proper" sizes this weekend.
  7. Hi guys :-) I got bored and ended up making a "Proud to be hosted by Xisto" and a "Proud to be hosted by Xisto" banner. They're completely vector; I recreated the Xisto and Xisto logos using Inkscape. Admittedly, the text isn't too amazing... I've got the source SVG if anyone wants to play around with it (and please feel free to): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Anyway, I hope you like them
  8. I thought Microsoft already did something like this, MSN Music... http://www.msn.com/en-gb https://b''>https://b'>http://www.msn.com/en-gb https://b
  9. It seems to me that Microsoft are slowly ripping Mac OS X off more and more. Rather than think up new things, they'll just copy OS X's interface and features.
  10. Once you've downloaded the complete backup file, how would you restore your site from it?Do you just upload it using the "Restore a Home Backup" tool on the homepage, and does that restore all your databases and everything completely, or will you have do do anything else?
  11. Actually, looking at your post count, it's your eigth post. You'll need to make you r posts much longer and more informative if you're gonna get hosted - good luck :-)
  12. With me it only prompted me to download the software the first time I visited, and it hasn't since then. If it keeps doing it, try going to https://www.google.com/googlenotebook/faq.html I think they do get most of thier money from adsense and adwords, but they do also have Google Earth (the non-free version), the Google Search Appliance, the Google Mini, and there's probably some other stuff they get money from too. Don't forget the sponsored results, and ads in Gmail.
  13. Whoa... I never realised it was that bad!Good luck in sorting it out, and thanks for everything so far...
  14. Okay. Wow! It shows MySQL status now! Thanks for all the help :-)
  15. Okay, thanks What about the Xisto Helpdesk? What's going on with that?
  16. I moved to Xisto - Web Hosting from Xisto, after I started drawing dangerously close to my 150MB limit. The transition was quick and painless, and OpaQue was helpful throughout, but since I've switched, I've begun regretting moving. Seeing I was now hosted on a seperate server "for unmatched performance and uptime", I expected hosting to be better, with no annoying downtime every time someone signed up for free hosting, and my sites running faster thanks to Xisto - Web Hosting's unique Website Optimisation, and Load Balancing Technology that was promised by thier website. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have worked out that way... If anything, the gamma server was much more reliable than delta. Compared to delta, gamma had practically no downtime whatsoever. It seems as though I'm paying for a worse service than I could have had - from the same company - for free. And now, with my website's uptime unpredictable at best, the Xisto Helpdesk has malfunctioned, and is no longer displayingserver statuses. Whinging over, I really appreciate the work done by OpaQue and everyone else at Xisto, I genuinely think that you offer the best hosting services I've ever come across, and am thankful for your hard work in times of difficulty like this. But, I don't think this is the way to treat paying customers. Could you please try to keep us informed as to what is currently happening to delta, and try to estimate when it'll be over? When will the Xisto Helpdesk be fixed? Sorry this seems so negative. I need more sleep
  17. I can't say I ever encountered any problems like this when I was hosted on Asta, but since I moved to Xisto - Web Hosting and my forum group was manually changed, I've ended up with 13187.51 credits. Apparently the system doesn't like people's groups being changed manually.
  18. Cheers M^E, that's sort of fixed it... except I now seem to have 13192.27 credits.
  19. Dunno. I guess I'm just really picky.Doesn't your account get deleted if your credits go too low?
  20. No, I tried that. I get the message "Detecting Forum username ... Warning!.. unix user does not exist!".I think what's happened is that my hosting account has been moved from Xisto, but the forum system still thinks I'm hosted with Xisto when I'm not.
  21. I've recently moved to paid hosting on Xisto - Web Hosting, transferring my hosting from Xisto. Even though I'm now on a different server, and paying for my hosting, I'm still loosing a hosting credit a day. It's no big deal, because my hosting isn't being suspended or anything (I've been in the negatives for quite a while now), but surely I shouldn't get charged hosting credits now that I'm not being hosted by Asta any more, should I?
  22. This is wierd - I'm on Xisto - Web Hosting now, and I'm hosted on the Delta server rather than Gamma, but I still had this problem. Was it a network-wide problem or something?
  23. Wow... I've never visited Xisto before, and I'm amazed by the forums. Is there any plan to upadate Xisto to look like this, and have activate the edit feature?
  24. I'm thinking about moving over to Xisto - Web Hosting, simply for the extra storage space. My site has a lot of flash games, and so on, all of which use up quite a bit of bandwidth, but I've never even used up 1GB of bandwidth. My highest was last month, and it was 911.10MB, which is very little considering we get 5GB.
