Test Your Pop-up Blocker Test your pop-up blocker
cse-icons replied to antny's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Thanx. That was a good link.I am using Maxthon browser and it blocked all the popups except 1/2 when returning to page...Cheers. -
As far as I know, u first need to have a signature certificate from an authorithy like Verisign. You need to buy it from them. This certificate would be needed for the encryption and decryption process for the https site. The certificate is a public - private key combination where the private key would be given to u and public key available to all. Cheers.

C Most Popular Programming Language Look at title :)
cse-icons replied to haron's topic in Programming
I have mostly coded in C, C++ and Java. I too love C for its sheer power, simplicity and flexibility. The object oriented languages are useful only when you have large projects, to make them more manageable. But for small utilities where command line would do, C would take less time to code.btw, I am presently working in Java. -
I think that you are asking these as type of anti-virus checking mechanisms. Here is what I understand:On demand : This means that your anti-virus would check for virus in your system, a particular file only when you specifically tell it do so by clicking scan or invoking it in some other way.On Access : It means that whenever you open any file on your computer, i.e., access it, it is first checked for the presence of virus and only then allowed to open. Most of the anti-virus nowadays have on-access feature, which protects your system better. But the on-access feature slows down your system and requires that your antivirus stay resident in memory all the time.Hope this was useful.Cheers.

The Sims 2 (pc) What do you thing about this game...
cse-icons replied to mpodner's topic in Computer Gaming
Actually I have played Sims earlier and found it too complex back then....It is a good game, but I have seen better ones.. esp I like the AOE series... One game named 'Desperados' that I played some time back was cool too.. actually I got so addicted that I did not relax till I completed all the levels. But have not found any gr8 strategy games since then... wud surely try out the Sims 2 soon.... -
yeah, nowadays most browsers how popup blockers or u can install toolbars from yahoo, google etc which block popups effectively...moreover the number of sites using popups are on the downside.. and they are more into on-page advertising due to the very fact that pop-up blockers exist.

I dont know how but you can go to certain sites which show media on their webpage and c if they are using any javascript. I understand that browser would detect it by itself as to whether it can play the media that u sent.. check for header values in the request, it might have some parameter.

It has nothing to do with JSP. It is plain java script.yeah, true that u can use the back button. but in certain cases, you need to go back on certain event on the page.. it can be used then. Also giving a link to previous and next pages is desired sometimes(previous just for good gui design) . for next you need to go back to server, but for the previous a simple javascript wud do, since it is available right there....Cheers

I suppose you can clean it with a soft cloth. The LCD's these days are quite good but still I dont think you can use water to clean it. Read the manual that came with it on how to clean it...wiping it with soft cloth should do.. I dont think it wud be too dirty :angry:Cheers.

yeah right.. domain names can be spoofed. But rest assured, admins would not need any info from you like passwords etc. They have super user access to everything on ur account, site and ur directories. If at all some personal detail is needed, they would use PM rather than mailing...Cheers.

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion? Share ur views on ABORTION?
cse-icons replied to Milk's topic in General Discussion
I do not support it as well... but there would be some genuine cases like threat to mother, cases where the girl is too young to conceive or in case of rape where it would be ok to get aborted coz.. that wud not be morally wrong.. that what I believe.... -
what exactly do you mean when u say that number guessing game? or did u intend to post this as a reply to some topic in another thread.... Cheers.

there is no upgrade available on 'Add-on sripts' panel but the version number on fantastico is 4.5.1(beta). So actually there are two versions of mambo available, 4.5(1.0.9) in add-on scripts and 4.5.1(beta) in fantastico. What I want is to make my installation(the one I did using add-on scripts to be visible in fantastico).Cheers.

In the cpanel, when you create a database, there is a provision for creating users as well. create users, assign passwords and give appropriate permissions. You can now use these usernames and password to access the databases. The other info like url and hostname are also available when you view the mysql databases in the cpanel.hope this helped...Cheers

Hi,I have been around for quite a while now and am loving the community here..I have a site running on Mambo CMS which I installed using 'Add-on scripts' panel. The version there is 4.5(1.0.9). It is working fine. But now I have fantastico panel which shows that 4.5.1(beta) is available...So, how do I upgrade my installation to the new version.1) The upgrade is not available on the 'Add-on scripts' panel.2) The installation is not visible in fantastico since I did not install it from there. I like fantastico more, is there anyway that my earlier installation would be visible in fantastico panel like it has been done from there.Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance...Cheers.

yes, the horizontal scrollbar is very annoying... use % of the screen in place of 'px' .As for ur reason or background, u can use div tags and make background to fit only that div... css is a very powerful thing.. if u can use it just right... try out... u will only be happier if u cud do it without fixing width and of course w/o horizontal scrollbar...Cheers

I have used Nero for long. It came bundled with my CD Writer. I have not had any problems with it. It has a simple interface and almost all the features that I need...

Http Method Post Is Not Supported By This Url
cse-icons replied to kvarnerexpress's topic in Programming
yes, u can override doGet and call doPost from there. But the reason for the problem might be that ur context configuration file might have been configured to block POST requests. Check ur context web.xml file or server.xml file in the server(in case of tomcat).Cheers. -
Opaque is right in saying that all non-vegetarians would not convert to vegetarianism but at least stop giving rubbish reason for eating meat. I have heard all sorts of reasons like : survival of the fittest, and that there needs to be a balance in the nature, human teeth are meant for eating meat, getting other vitamins & proteins and what not.... I hope the following link would clear all your doubts and stop you from giving crap reasons: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Also, to those who point out... In India there are many communities who are vegetarian, I dont find any health deficiency in any of them.. nor would you be able to point out. Cows in India die naturally but I have never heard of 'mad cow disease' in India. Moreover other predominantly meat-eating nations face this scare... so that does not prove any point... I have just put in my points with no intention of hurting anyone's feelings.

I like the Computers sub-forum and particularly Programming Languages and anything related to computers. Not that I dont like other forums too.. just that I prefer some over others....

Hi Corey, Md5 is a hash algorithm. i.e., It is a one-way hash which converts plaintext(or any data that is confidential) into a 128 -bit hash value(called message digest ). The algorithm is such that only that plaintext will generate that hash value and no other. I mean there is a one-one relationship between the plaintext and hash. so even if a single bit is change in the plaintext it would generate a different message digest. So when u want a secure data transfer, transfer the file and the message digest separately. the receiver would again generate the digest and check whether both the digests match.. thus proving authenticity. so all in all, md5 does not contain any original text in plain or encrypted form, so there is no way of getting it back. dont know how clear I was but Hope this was a little useful.... For More Info refer to this RFC: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1321.html Cheers.
