I usually don't like tables, but I'll check it out just the same - I'm desperate to get it working the right way again. Sometimes I wish the cPanel FTP let you save drafts instead of saving it as a totally different file. Sometimes I wish I think ahead of myself. This happened once before but it didn't stay that way. It's really weird. I even made a test page to see if I could find the error and get rid of it by removing the text and whatever. I'll probably have to remove all the the content and come back and write it in. Poo. Ahem...anyways, I'll get back to you on the table version (probably tomorrow).

Urgh, I tried to insert a form in my site (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), and it screwed up, so I took out the form and it remains the same. However, I checked it through the validator and no tags have been corrupted or whatever. And it looks perfect through IE so I'm not sure what happened. The worst part of it is that it looked just like the IE version before I went to stick the form in. If any of you manage to run through my mess of paragraph and div tags, I inserted the form into a div called col4. I'm hoping this is one of those temporary mistakes because most of the users who visit my site use Firefox. Actually, for fonts, just drag and drop them into your Fonts folder (on your system, like C:/Windows/Fonts) and it'll pop up saying blahblah.ttf or whatever is installed.

Basically, it won't let me connect to the FTP, saying there's a 421 error - unable to set up secure anonymous FTP. It's pretty weird

It's just a good thing to do. Read up on this if you want to know more about it.

Watch out for Saint_Michael though. I think he has more sigs and renders on this forum than I have hosting credits - which is really saying something. (<3 Michael )

That seems to be a partial thread hijack, Blu, but I dunno. I personally don't like that has so many renders but it looks really nice except for the background. The sepia tones rock

I love all of those books, especially the LOTR series and Fight Club. True, the Hobbit was boring, but I seemed to get through that pretty fast. The dwarves make me laugh. I don't really like the Harry Potter series anymore because Rowling's writing seems to be going down hill in light of the 6th book. It peaked at the 3rd book and just kind of died from there. It's a good read for entertainment but not for serious reading. And I absolutely hate the movies. What's so special about them? There are so many other angsty kid movies out there.

I was trying to set up some FTP accounts and I got those done all right. But when I try to go to the FTP section of my site to try signing in and uploading, it gives me a 421 error and won't let me set up an anonymous FTP. I've poured through everything and I've had this problem for a while. Any of you guys know some quick fixes?

Ok, Nero did not burn down Rome. He was crazy but he wasn't possessed. None of those guys were actually possessed. It's called murder or genocide or indifference. Hitler felt anger towards Jewish people and tried to destroy them. Cain killed his brother because he was jealous. The fire in Rome was actually caused by something else but according to mythology, he played a violin as it burned. However, Nero did dress up in peasant clothes and run through the streets beating people who couldn't hit him back because he was the emperor. He also blocked off streets and started reciting poetry and singing. People would pretend to be dead so they could leave. (Lemony Snicket got that part right!)Judas I really have no idea about, but money is money, after all. You can't say he was possessed for accepting bribes. And that's the end of my rant.

It was probably just a little bit of down time. Every website has a little of it. It also could be that your internet wasn't working - at least that's the way it rolls over here in Texas. And it's usually not too difficult to be an active member. Like the others said, just post a lot in advance. If you need a few credits real fast to access your site or whatever, just let me know (AIM, MSN, whatever) - I have plenty that I can transfer.

Oooh I love the colors and the images. But it would rock even more if it validated. It would also be great if it had more different content from page to page, in the form of images, album covers, etc, but it looks really nice!

Whatever it is has to do with the settings that PHPNuke (I think this is PHPNuke) has created. You can probably log in and fix this. Perhaps you tried to hide or rename modules? Check this out first.

Well, first you have to download brushes. They usually appear in packs. Simply unzip these onto your desktop, and group all the .abr files together. Then cut and paste into the folder True specified. When you're in Photoshop, say "Load Brushes" and pick the ones you inserted. You should be able to use them from then on.

Actually, don't hotlink. If you plan to keep large files on your site, make them yourself and make room for them. Keep upgrading your account if you have to. But never hotlink because then you'll be stealing a lot of bandwidth from the creator. Also, can a mod fix the link please? It has an extra http:// The real link is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for all of you guys

Just like Panda said - you'll want to just have a plain HTML page with maybe a background or something that displays your Under Contstruction sign. You may want a counter there too or a way for people to contact you (see Panda's code) while your site is down.

Could you perhaps tell us what's wrong with your site so we can help? At the moment, I don't have any link to your site (checked your profile as well) and I realize this is your first post so...it might help to look at some of the pinned guides at the top of the forum before posting. Otherwise Kubi will eat you

It's fast enough for me. I mean, the odds are that you're going to be reading or writing a post in the time it takes for a new message to come. Plus, some people are just slow readers or have to translate english to another language. Personally, I think you should just be patient and wait - it's not too long and the odds are that we've both read every message that circulates through there already.

The red is really bright and I'm not sure if I like the iFrame there. It just seems kind of pointless when you can just extend the layout using a CSS background attribute. Also, the area is extremely narrow. If you're going to have actual content, it may help to move the text up, and put the links nearer to the top where they're easily visible.
