Building A New Computer Thoughts and choises.
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Hardware Workshop
you do still have to take into considering about how much memory you have since it uses so much power per gb i can't remember how much though. most people assume that its the amount of memory sticks that uses power but the actual amount of memory the memory has needs memory. the most important thing really in a computer is to amek sure that you've connected the wires correctly because if you haven't then the whole computer could burn out. don't forget if you have a computer which has a option on the power supply to change the amount of voltage it draws (the 230v/120 something volts). i learnt the hard way about that the computer i did that to burnt out destroying the motherboard and most of the other components. i only know the stuff i know through building my own computers when i need to and looking online for advice. -

but onboard graphics usually share graphics hence they will sometimes slower than you expect them to. they are also harder to upgrade compared to graphics cards which allow you to change it over to a better card. also most motherboards these days have onboard graphics some of which are better than others. intel onboard graphics are not as good as nvidia graphics but no onboard graphics can match modern addon graphics cards. if you have multiple pci express times 16 ports than you can run multiple graphics cards (all same model and memory) which increases permformance. the amount of watts you power supply is capable of achieveing is important as well because if you do not have enough power to run the system then it will either not start or turn itself off after starting up too many power consuming parts. -
How Do I Plan To Buy A Future-proof Gaming Pc?
grim reaper1666 replied to H.O.D's topic in Hardware Workshop
have you thought about upgrading the parts believe me it is much cheaper you should also have a good cooling system since computer systems run better when they are cooled properly. whereas i recently got myself a 1tb hdd which suits my needs that is that along side my 250gb and 160 gb hdd's. in my opinon thats enough space to last me a while. it seems the more space i get the quicker that i use up the space i have. back on topic anyway, if you think it is neccessary should replace your graphics card as this should improve gaming permformance. you could depending on the socket and chipset of your current motherboard keep that to save a bit of money. but thats all i ve got. -

i prefer AMD since for cheaper you could buy a AMD quadcore processor for the price of one of intels dual core processors, i also trust AMD more to make sure they supply good cooling. AMD cpu fans come with copper cooling pipes whereas intel just has tall fans which in my opinion are not as effective since copper allows the heat to transit away from the cpu quicker. cases are very important since they control the airflow around the case and believe me effective cooling can have a big impact on the permformance of the computer which can also effect game performance gta iv for me must have jumped from 20 fps to 30 fps. when buying a graphics card it is not just the amount of memory you should be looking at, look at clock speed, memory type (gddr3) the amount of shader cores. when you get a motherboard check the amount of memory busses it has since some come with more than 2 which means that you can add in more memory than usual. also the bios can affect the permformance of the parts all the transport speeds have an effect as well, look for articles online as well. -
ah so thats whats sending those mails, that i would imagine would explain why it has a google adrees. afterall a worm would be easily able to change the send address afterall, the address that the end user sees might not be the same one as was used to send the mail. all likelyhood would be that the worm changed the address of the sender before it got sent out. you say thats impossible but it is only data so a worm coded to send this mail will have the required code to change the send address. it makes me wonder if the original address is hidden. i d also reccomend informing google since their filters need updating, i think google should have all files scanned beofre they come to your inbox so if they are dangerous they get flagged somehow.
-
i think spammers can use a tricking technique to get the sender address to change, believe i know i had a spam message which for some reason said that it was sent by me when i know that i didn't send it. i suppose the best thing is if you know you didn't even apply for a job then you shouldn't have an email. another thing is that google would have sent you a letter not a email as letters are more business like and more apporiate when it comes to offering someone a job. and a document would not be an exe so i'd get it removed by your scanner.
-
so if you create a free account and find the email address of googles owners and forwarded all of your spam to them with a message saying imporve sam filters would they be annoyed?i suppose they would ban you but they woudl most likely imporve their spam filters to help block spam from getting to your inbox.

Computer And Tv different ways to watch
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Websites and Web Designing
computers also have monitors with less space in between the pixels making it easier for reeading texk whiel tvs have more of a gap between each pixel. even hd tvs the ones the are different are 1080p displays has they are not loaded every other line of pixels. computers run what you want when you want tvs need a dvd player to do that but they need a games console to play games. once you have a tv you don't need to upgrade it to play the latest games but eventually a new console will be released. -
What Is The Internet in reality
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Websites and Web Designing
the internet is inter connected computers with the sole prupose of sharing files these days that can happen wirelessly, it started out in military applications as the orignial poster said using telephone lines but most likely the internet would have been local inside connected areas only. the internet is much different than the world wide web. the internet in many ways is the way in which you recieve files while the world wide web as every avid internet user should know is the viewing part. -
Top 10 Ways To Break Your Laptop
grim reaper1666 replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Websites and Web Designing
i know another way how a laptop can get broken, you notice that your table is wobbling you look under the table and see a laptop size chunk missing from one of the legs so you put the laptop under it and the wobbling problm is solved. then you realise it is a heavy glass table and you hear a load smashing coming from the under the table leg. then you get angry throw it in the car boot, then you get an idea you check your warranty and it says car accidents accepted. you close the boot jump in the car find a disused car park then drive as fast as you can while being able to stop and slam the breaks on and listen for the smash. -
Find A Website different ways to find a website
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Websites and Web Designing
you can find websites in emails as well for example you could email your friend asking if they know what the website is, or they send you a link to a interesting website. another one is throuhg spam you get sent a piece of junk mail but the site it links to interests you. or if a friend used instant messagig to give a link to a webstie of interest. -
oh yeah, and facebook.com for checking every few weeks, and for palying mob wars on you can't forget that. hotmail.com for my emails and spam deletion and somethings spam forwarding to people who insult me or somethings spam from one spammer to another spammer. microsoft support to ask stupid questions and see if i get any sort of a reply. dan-ball.jp/en for some great web games. vivalagames.com for the same sorta thing.

Googletv a new way to surfe the internet on the tv
grim reaper1666 replied to zenia's topic in Hardware Workshop
i don't see why they need to combine them like that to get a internet tv in my opinion i'd just hook a normal computer up to a tv and use that to access the internet, have multiple dvd player spaces and more. t makes life so much easier than having a high cost machine made by google when current technology is more than capable of doing the same thing. sure some people say that it would make things easier but would it really in my opnion it would just make the process more complicated. -
the thing that is bad about gogle is they turned gmail into you need to send a text verification message to be able to create a email account, in my opinion that is plain dumb because then it becomes not free it has a little cost. they seem to have done it to try and get rid of the people who create an email account just to spam but the majority of people who do create an email account don't spam with them they use them for emails. so in my opinon they are discriminating with people who don't want to reeal their mobile number to google who could then very easily send your number to annoying survey people.

my most important sites are http://www.bttfhillvalley.co.uk/home.html for the updates on the back to the future hill valley mod. google as my search engine along with yahoo to double check the results. Xisto.com because i like this site and is useful for computer problems so thats a really good thing. megaupload.com as a good file sharing host along with megavideo.com to watch videos. youtube.com to find realy funny videos. wikipedia to find infomation on what i am wondering how something works or who did something that kind of thing.

first i recommend restarting your router or internet connection, that should get it working again. if it doesn't then check your internet settings or even try setting the windows ones to default that way you might then be able to connect. or it could be your isp blocking youtube if so ring them up and ask about it if they say they have just ask them why and see if they will unblock youtube and throw some freedoms on them to reinforce your agruement.

you are forgetting that the air isn't that conductive and there is also the problem that if yu have all of that power going through the air its going to hit someone at some point. mass magentic forces are out of the question as well they to me would cause problems with everyday devices making them go haywire. another question i have for you is if you did transfer the power via the air how would you control how much power goes through the air, since currently they need to send out much more power than is needed simply to counter agaisn't the electricity disapating into the air.

Tips For Long Term Computer Happiness
grim reaper1666 replied to tansqrx's topic in Websites and Web Designing
i say its always best to run virus scans in safe mode, without networking since that's where less programs are allowed to run hence it makes it harder for viruses, spyware, root-kits, Malware and all the other malicious programs to be able to hide. its always best to have a good firewall like zonealarm. i personally set my anti-spyware/virus/malware program to scan archives exes infact it even scans downloads as they come in so harder job for a virus to get in. i never install toolbars they just annoy me. i don't use internet explorer since in my opinion thats a doorman to a hotel welcoming the viruses into your system files. saying "welcome feel at home why don't you go into the windows exe sir". i personally think windows is easier to infect because the majority of people who get infected by viruses use internet explorer. good thing is i have my own computer which only me goes on so i know not to download anything that will most likely contain a virus or more often a virus butler who opens the way for the more dangerous viruses. sometimes it's best to have more than one firewall that way you have a free one at the front then a better one behind it so the free weaker one gets broken through then most of the weaker viruses are taken out then the tougher ones get wiped out. -
its just Microsoft trying to crush its competition its Netscape all over again even when the thing that they are trying to crush is better than what they have created. Microsoft takes longer to address bugs and glitches than other companies. i also like the idea of HTML5 using java script for videos and audio. a thing i like is how Firefox beta 5 uses direct2d to speed up the performance of the graphics in flash games, videos and anything flash or anything 2d animation for that matter. i guess Firefox is beating Microsoft, i haven't seen Microsoft release a beta for their new browser while Mozilla has.

i think touchscreen is wasted on the iPod nano unless you can connect to the internet with it and browse otherwise it would be harder to select the songs epically if you have big fingers and you select the wrong song. another thing that could happen is if you forget to lock it and then put it in your pocket it could keep changing songs when your walking around.

Gmail Introduces Priority Inbox
grim reaper1666 replied to H.O.D's topic in Websites and Web Designing
the Google mail Priority inbox sounds like a cool idea. the most important emails go in to that inbox which allows you to find the emails you need like invoices from orders online. information from your online banking and so on. obviously i myself am not sure exactly how Google are going to have this new inbox work know that i think about it it just seems pointless. if you need an important email you have the search mail area to find it quicker than your Priority inbox.
