Well nicholas2, phpbb is the BIGGEST PAIN to install. I just finally got it installed after about an hour tying.The only reason I did it is because fantastico doesn't work.Also, another way to get lots of free stuff is a php script installed (like fantastico).

I think this is a good deal. It would just take me a bit of time to get the 280 credits, especially since 1 gets taken off each day.But I don't think it bothers me all that much because I get my domain for free now anyway, so it doesn't matter too much if we get it here at Xisto or not.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, so move it mods if you want to, but, I can't get to my site if I use www. in front of the domain (habbofront.com)When I use the www. in front of my domain, I get my old parking page. I know that it doesn't update automatically but its been a day now since I changed the name server to the Xisto one and i can get to it just from habbofront.com but not http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ way to fix it because I'd really like to have www. for my domain.

Well I would gather you could probably just make your own.Just with what you want on it. I don't think that would be a problem, would it? not sure.And since you actually have Xisto hosting I would have an Xisto one not computer host, since your not hosted on computer host.

Yeah thats the same problem I get.I hope it can be fixed soon because I'm having a heap of problems trying to install phpbb my self.

Cpanel 11 is the best control panel of that sort I've seen.I hope they do upgrade to 11 because although it will do, this version isn't all that great. I've only ever used 10 and 11 so I might check out parts of 9 and see what it's all like.

Learn PHP definately befor you start learning databases.They come in later in the more advanced stuff.I have a book right next to me actually called... "Programming in PHP" its from next handbooks. It's a little out of date (from 2005) but its probably the best thing I have ever read for learning php. Well this topic is a bit obvious and I really don't think anyone would be stupid enough to just tell someone their password.But yeah i spose it... helps people wanting to... know.If you wanna keep your stuff safe also then get an encryptor. I used to have a reall good one until my comptuer died and now I forgot what it's called.A password is meant to be a secret only you are meant to know (unless its a shared account for something)

I learned by Mavis Beacon typing game thing how embarassing I think i am like 50 words a minute or something though I don't actually type like it teaches and how most people learn and teach it. I have my own way, whenever I'm not typing my hand are off the keyboard but I just know where the keys are and just... type like that. I don't need to look at the keyboard either.

I like both laptops and desktops really.Laptops are probably better because they can be used anywhere although it wouldnt be much use to me without wireless internet. Laptops are ok except for touchpads, sometimes they really annoy me so thats a downside. But you can always buy a mouse.Desktops are good on the other hand because they are more reliable and you don't have to worry about a battery or anything like that. Also they aren't as easy to break since they can be big and bulky.I am probably going to vote desktop, since I use one more often and i like them better.Also you can get bigger screens for desktops and an enormous laptop would like a bit stupid when you think about it.

I'm not so good with databases.I can though work my way around a mysql database for my site.As long as I can do that im happy.

I have decided to start learning php as I think it is essential if you want to make a good site.I have a book which is good for starters but it doesnt have much advanced stuff.Would anyone happen to know a good site I can learn from?While im on the topic, i cant get PHP to install on apache.So i still cant use php on my computer anyway :l

That sounds like a bit (alot) of a problem if you ask me.Trojans (when I get them) usually lead me to formatting my computer.Where in the computer is "sys.exe" meant to be from anywhere?is it a system file or something?because if it is then that probably means a problem.

I havent ever used Solaris but i would love to try it sometime!it looks good and ive read some great reviews about the operating system.From memory there is also a paid one?Sun have done a great job with solaris, i know that anyway!

On the linux website (linux.org) you could always just do a search for minimal distributions.I find most distros I like from searching on that site as alot are on there and there are types for every different need.

One of the best C++ programs I have found is Ultimate++ IDE The program has got a load of sample programs with it to test or use or you can make your own package. It has a great visual editor which I usually rely on because as I am good at C++ im not all that good so it really comes in handy at times of need. the site is http://www.ultimatepp.org/ I find it one of the best because it has alot of features and can do a great lot of stuff. Also it is completely free to download and use.

i have game makeri dont like it much anymore since ive kind of gone off making games.You can also get a program called G-Java to convert it to java so you can put your game on the internet.The program has a heep more features if you register it.

I guess this is ok.I use trillian so i can use all the different instant messenger things.Ive never had a thing for yahoo anything though.Online messengers aren't all that brilliant so im not going to be using this.

Windows media player 9 is probably one of the worst of media player. I really hated it. As soon as 10 came out I got that and it was good.
