  1. Yes my audience is targeted kinda. Its for my slavehack group the site is. Most SH players use FF due to an extension for that game. That's why I started using it at first. Personally I don't think IE is all that bad and I like Windows. I am shocked at how many still use IE though.
  2. Thanks mark. But like I said that fixed it. Funny how simple error make big issues.
  3. This post is to help you get pages working in both FF and IE. There's lots of threads on this but I felt justified in making this one too. Its very easy for IE not to display something that works fine in FF. For example: <title>Organization 13: Enter/title> That simple error prevented a page from displaying in IE, however I rewrote it as: <title>Organization 13: Enter</title> It then worked. Carefully comb your code for errors such as that. I ignored the issue of IE non-compatibility for a long time until I saw almost 20% of visitors to my site used IE, I then had to work on it. You'd be shocked how many people still use IE:P ~SilverFox
  4. That was funny, however I was hoping Asta would've had an April Fools joke that all our hosting accounts got suspended. At first I heard about Google's prank I thought it was real kinda...then I saw it wasn't .
  5. I don't have a wii and due to its insane cost doubt I ever will. My newest console is the Gamecube. I still prefer the Sega Genesis over PS2 often. Personally they are too expensive, and the Wii just looks...well...I don't like it personally. The Xbox360 and Ps3 out do the Wii (bare in mind I am a long time Nintendo fan), however I hear the Wii is cheap, so in long run Wii might win.
  6. All over my Kitchen and part of the living room. The PC is near the kitchen, they have spilled over into that part of the living room. My fear is if i exterminate the house (which I plan on doing soon) is that they will survive deep inside the PC. Lol.Kinda like off a SCI-FI movie. I use the PC a lot and don't turn it off at night often, perhaps turning it off more often would let it cool at night and morning making them less likely to stay there. That in addiction to possibly M^e's idea could cut down on them hopefully. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
  7. Down here at this time of year it is far to humid to take it out side. It'd probably get wet. As for the bait thing that might be feesible.I will probably just take it parts out and get the roaches off like you said, and hope they don't come back. Thanks,Silverfox
  8. I recommend getting others to do your work for you on sigs.Oh and hi Danmidas, I'm SilverFox. Welcome to Xisto, good luck getting hosting here. Its well worth it as you know
  9. My PC had been making strange noises and running slower, so I assumed it was time to clean the fan/cooling fins. I opened the side panel thing to see cockroaches coming in and out of an open PCI slot. So I got a PCI slot cover. When I moved the PC to my desk I found it look about like rat's nest inside. Roaches were swarming the PC Fan, Cards, Disk Drives, Power Supply, etc. Probably hundreds maybe a thousand. I've never seen so dusty a CPU fan in my life, the all the cooling fins were totally covered in dust and crap. I cleaned the fins and the fan. Its running faster and probably cooler and not making as much noise, however the roaches remain. I don't like them going in and out of my power supply and Disk Drives, in and out of my USB plugs and crap, I am curious how do you exterminate a PC? You can't spray it...I know they go there due to the heat, any suggestions on how to get rid of these roaches? On a humorious side it reminded me of the movie where only the *BLEEP* roaches remained, as I saw them swarming over my PC it was the wiredest thing I've see, funky stuff. Thanks,SilverFox
  10. Thsi is the same problem from earlier? I'd recommend reinstalling windows as you did everything else, right?
  11. Thanks for the tips. Good job. I had no knowledge of how to speed it up other than via the Processes Page. However I'm thinking of switching to Opera so its a little late
  12. It is possible for all of us, but life would suck. I could go a long time without one literally...but after a day I would start wanting one. But we all can go without one and not die. I spend 8+ hrs on it
  13. I don't like phpbb because its too simple and basic for the admin. I like what InvisionFree Forums used but it was really easy to hack. I've started using SMF and I like certain features of it, I just wish it had the permissions abilites that Ivisionfree had or as easily configured. yabBB I don't like. Vbulletin is good but costs money. Shitnz is secure but its user interface and admin cP is horrible.I'd say I am learning to like SMF, it isn't hard to install. Ivisionfree is my favorite because I know it so very well but its not secure for what I host forums for.
  14. I've had problems with IE displaying things. Are the two using different coding? How can there be in effect 2 kinds of HTML? Aslo can you use IE to view as FF page? Because some people are stubborn and won't switch.
  15. I had this once, I cannot remember how I fixed it ;)Reinstallling Windows but that'd be suck a pain.
  16. Okay, I'll forgive the grammer.I know your probably anxious for hosting, I know I was. But less posts=better posts. Stick mainly to the technical section if you want hosting. Right good long posts. Don't use things from other sources, even if that means it takes longer. It might take a week for Xisto but its well worth it. Just take your time. Look at hosted member's posts from before they got hosting, see what they did for an example, that might help.
  17. Master_Nero, please don't post so many topics, its killing the forums. Whenever a forum is OVERLY active it dies and people can't keep up. I know your trying to get credits but my guess is the mods won't like a lot of your posts. Also try and work on Grammer.Sorry to be so harsh..lol
  18. MN, please use proper english/grammer in your posts, if you want hosting that is
  19. Sorry I can't help, I've never used Vista at all so I can't. But I just would like to note that this is yet another reason why Windows XP is still the best ;)Sounds like your Media Player is not working. Try using Real Player or something else as a test.
  20. Personally I don't think Windows is that dangerous. A lot of people have some problem with it online, but they are just complainers. I rarely get those patches and I'm okay. I think all the anti-windows people need to just get a new record, this one's broken. However, I still find that report a bunch of BS.
  21. Nice. Thanks. This might help me too But I've never used anything but Mediawiki.
  22. Probably PHP I'd guess. PHP is a dynamic server side code for online things. Its used for everything from gaming to Content Management Systems (CMS) and forums. You will need MYSQL or another php linkable database. Then you will need to learn PHP. You could also I think make an online application in VB but not sure. C/C++ I don't think can be used online and for browser based games PHP is the way to go. Also Java is used but I'd say PHP Some PHP help is here.
  23. Maybe I just don't play high end games. Lol. I only really play WoW sometimes and CivIII, neither are big CPU/RAM drainers. All the PCs I fix for people are mainly office based (Excel, Word, IE are thier main programs). But I still think motherboards need an upgrade. And I've never heard of ASM code, what's that?Btw I'm not a Programmer
  24. Yes but I was talking about your NORMAL home user. That dosn't include "video editing", or coverting a "huge high definition movie to convert or burn or something.". How many home users do those tasks? I might be wrong but I don't think many do.
