  1. Hey Dude, Look, when you say 'programming' you're speaking too generic! But I got a few hints for you- To start with, I would recommend that you master C/C++ first. It might take time & you'd feel you're doing nothing! But is worth it, honestly. Once you've mastered these Basic languages, I can bet $100 on the fact that you'll be able to learn ANY programming language just by reading its documentations. That's my personal experience! Once you master C/C++, then check out the Python language. That's the latest trend now-a-days, that even NASA and Google use it!! Definitely, to start with this, you'll need to know the basics of Functions, pointers etc. in C/C++. So, best of luck! -Omkar Ekbote
  2. Hey there! I love those old school games! I used to play loads of addictive games in school! And I still play some of them occasionally! Here's the list : (In PC Games - I never liked the gameboy very much) Dave - The Original DOS Game (Imagine, just ONE exe file!!!) Doom & Doom II (Great Action, I used cheats! ) Duke 3D (Man, this was HOT! ) Sky Roads (All 30 tracks) This wasn't addictive, was it? I still have all these games on my hard disk, so if anyone wants them, let me know! -Omkar Ekbote
  3. Well, you can download all alpha & beta versions of all softwares for free. No one checks or knows whether you're a developer or not! You're on your own freewill to download the software while it is in development stage. I would personally suggest that you DON'T do that if you're not a developer - because 'under-development' softwares are very unstable, especially if you using Windows, then it might even take down the OS, if you're not running it in a protected shell! So, better way - wait for the complete stable version to release and then test it out! -Omkar Ekbote
  4. Hey Guys, Thanks for pouring in your brains! Well here's the answer : Just two keys : 1.Divide 2.<Any operation> So, I think mediafork was the closest one.. Yet, there are 7 solutions to this one. So, great work, mediafork - You got the Einstein factor in you! -Omkar Ekbote
  5. Hey, all guys! What I started this topic for is the Windows OPERATING SYSTEM!!! All you guys are talking about Microsoft's Applications! I know there are many (better) substitutes available for every Microsoft Application (thanks to its compaitibility!), but I collect Microsoft Windows OS(s) only. P.S.: I myself use Firefox, so no praises for IE there!... -Omkar Ekbote Conclusion : I think the COMPAITIBILITY of Windows has made it survive. Apart from some users saying Microsoft has copied its ideas, I still think the Windows GUI rocks! -Omkar Ekbote
  6. Hey, there are infinite ways to get an error on a hand-help 12-digit calculator. But has anyone thought, what's the EASIEST way of doing it? Well, you need to press ONLY TWO keys in order that you get an error on the calculator (except the ON key ofcourse). Think about it and post your thought here. I'll be posting the answer tomorrow (23rd May 2006). -Omkar Ekbote
  7. Hey, dude - don't discourage me. If you try to tell me that Microsoft Corporation has stolen thier ideas then I would like to see you tell me from where!! And yes, I have ALL Licensed copies of Windows, for your kind information - except Window 98SE. So, better not call me illegal! Also, you cannot challenge the compaitibility of Windows, cause you know that 99% of the software on the planet IS compaitible with Windows. -Omkar Ekbote
  8. Since there's no point in repeating what all others have already said, I think the most BASIC reason for IE not being better than Firefox is: IE 7 is currently in BETA development mode. Firefox is a complete package, now also supporting extensions and loads of other stuff. So, basically, I never opt for BETA Software, the complete edition is good enough! -Omkar Ekbote
  9. I'm a fan of the Microsoft Corporation and I simply love their OS(s). The best thing about a Windows OS is: 1. Its GUI - Windows are the best GUI I've seen, compared to MacOS & even Linux. 2. Its compaitibility - 99% of the softwares on the planet are compaitible with Windows. Here's what my collection is about: (in latest order) Windows Vista (Beta) Windows XP (Home/Professional & Media Centre edition) Windows 2000 Professional Windows ME Windows 98SE (Now that's ancient!) I think that's about a Microsoft Windows OS Collection. A suggesstion : Micorosft should also launch a Collectors' Edition of their OS(s), what do you think? -Omkar Ekbote
