Drivers Using Cellphone cellphones can maximise accidents
AzNxSuperNova replied to atm's topic in Science and Technology
Although using a cell phone while driving is a distraction,I don't think it should be illegal. The driver just needs to exercise more caution and use discretion when choosing to answer a call. Not all calls are important, but some are urgent. One of the reasons why we have cell phones is so that we can be reached in such emergencies. Using a hands free headset is a nice option so you don't have to reach for the phone, but your attention is still on the call and not the road so will it really decrease the number of accidents? In my opinion, people just need to be more careful on the road regardless if they have a phone or not. -
FrontPage Vs. Dreamweaver
AzNxSuperNova replied to crs_cwiz1405241504's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
For me, I have only used FrontPage once in my life. Dreamweaver is my editor of choice and find that the application can be overwhelming at first, but I feel the learning curve isn't too bad. I started out learning HTML and then moved to Dreamweaver to code it all. In my opinion, its always good to have a good background on what you're doing cause if something doesn't look right, you could always check the HTML. Dreamweaver has a very good reference section that explains the different tags for HTML and other languages. The reason why I like Dreamweaver is because the user interface is not intrusive in any way. Every panel can be hidden so all you see is the workspace and the reason why I like this is because I can open up and edit multiple files at a time and still be organized. In the end it's what you're most familiar with that will get you the best results. -
I have always favored nVidia graphics cards. The way they market their product is more toward gaming. I had a GeForce 4 TI 4400 which was bought maybe 3 years ago and has run every game I have had up until I tried it with Battlefield 2. Even then, I'm sure it could but it just doesn't support DirectX 9 Pixel Shaders. As for ATI, I feel they market their product more toward the all around use. By this I mean that I've seen ATI have advertisements for people who do video, image or even 3D animation as well as the gaming community. Also, they have their All-in-Wonder cards which is a nice package. Now that I'm getting older, I find I don't play games as much and as a result, I am using an ATI x300 Mobility in my laptop. The choice is personal preference but if by best you mean gaming performance, I'd say nVidia.

After watching the demo, I have to say that I like the idea. However, it could take some time to actually transition to a 3D desktop. Regardless, there's nothing wrong with a new idea or innovation.

I personally have a myspace account and would like to say thanks for the heads up. However, I just checked my account and I've had this for a while so I'm not 100% sure on this, but as far as I remember, punkpig5 is correct in that only friends which you must approve are allowed to post comments. If you want to be more secure, there is always the option to disable HTML language in comments. Just click Home > Account Settings > Profile Settings (3rd option from the bottom) > then tick the types of comments you want to disable HTML in. There are three options: Picture, Blog and Profile Comments. Then click the "Change Settings" button to save your preference. Hope this helps those who want to stay on the safe side.

320GB Harddrive Any store that manufactures it?
AzNxSuperNova replied to XMX LoverBoy XCX's topic in Hardware Workshop
If the hard drive is in good condition, thats one sweet deal. However, I personally don't think I'd ever need 320gb of space. I purchased the 80gb version of that Western Digital hard drive with the 8mb buffer and only about 20gb of it is filled. I made the purchase about 3 years ago and it still works fine. Western Digital products are top quality and for a deal that good, I wouldn't pass it up. -
Disabling Firewall On A Wireless Broadband Router
AzNxSuperNova replied to BlackWolfX's topic in Software
From my personal experience, I have always had to just configure port forwarding to be able to do things such as host games. One good site I found was PortForward.com. After clicking on the link, near the top will be a navigation menu that says "Common Ports" then scroll down to find the application you're having problems with. Click the corresponding application and then select the router you have and follow the directions on screen. The instructions are step-by-step and easy to follow. The only trouble you may have is if your application isn't listed and then your best bet would be to google it. -
PHP Software? What are some suggestions...
AzNxSuperNova replied to optykal's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I've been wanting to write webpages in PHP and found the links you provided to be very helpful. I'm actually reading an article from the devshed.com website and learning a lot from it. Thanks for the links. -
Thanks for the information. I've been wondering when they would release a new version of IE, but so far, I'm not that big of a fan of tabbed browsing. Maybe this will change it but again, thanks for keeping us updated.

Some Of My Ps Creations.. Signatures
AzNxSuperNova replied to Raskull's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I would have to agree with nachtgeist on this one. I'm not a big fan of animated gifs, especially when its just for the text effect. But in the end, its your signature so do as you like. -
I currently am using a notebook with Windows XP SP2 that I purchased recently for college but I had a custom built rig before it. It still runs great but is getting in its years and its starting to show especially without DDR2 RAM and PCI-e. Regardless, its for home use so it suits its purpose. I have used Macs in the past and am familiar with them but I find that they're just too expensive for my taste.

Thanks for posting up the picture of what can be created. It's such an easy tutorial for a a really cool effect so I this knowledge will come in handy. I checked out a lot of the other tutorial pages that the other posters linked and they're wonderful. I highly suggest going to them and I'd just like to note that Pixel2Life.com is the place I go to for learning new techniques in most programs because there are more than just Adobe Photoshop tutorials.

Mario Kart Double Dash What about this game?
AzNxSuperNova replied to characato1405241476's topic in Computer Gaming
I personally don't think anything compares to the original Super Mario Kart for the SNES. Single player was fun and enjoyable, but multiplayer was where the game stood out. It was always fun to get a feather and hop into the water on the one stage. -
The two most notable RPGs I would like to mention is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy VII for the reason that they both defined their series. They provided endless hours of gameplay and had great storylines which allowed the player to become immersed in a new world. I wouuld like to note that I have never played Ocarina of Time for the N64? or possibly GameCube so I couldn't compare it to Link to the Past.

Supreme Court Rules Against P2p Sharing
AzNxSuperNova replied to vizskywalker's topic in Websites and Web Designing
If I understand this correctly, the ruling by the Supreme Court still allows the use of P2P software, but it can't be advertised or marketed in such a way to promote copyright infringement. As a result, it seems pretty fair in the way it turned out. Software companies are now liable, but I don't feel this will affect the big picture. People will still find alternate methods to get what they want and in the end, copyrights will be infringed upon because its just too hard to enforce such a ruling. -

Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail Whos winning the battle?
AzNxSuperNova replied to jcguy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Since the start, I have always had a Hotmail account. It is what I have come to be accustomed to for an email service. I generally use Outlook Express with the account I have there so I never need to view any advertisements or sign in. It's the fact that I can easy check my mail at the touch of a button that appeals to me. But if purely based on the service itself, Gmail is what I would be using. It is the only other email account I have besides my Hotmail one because of the sheer size of storage possible and its speed, although a Yahoo! account would be nice so I could login to view the other content that they provide. -
Hey, I just checked out your website and I find that it is very minimalist which, in this case, is a good thing. I found it very straight forward and easy to navigate. The layout suits the purpose because it doesn't draw the viewer's attention away from what they should focus on which is the photography. In the end, I wouldn't know what else you could do to add to the quality of the site. The photos are simply breathtaking. Keep up the great work.

StarCraft hands down wins this one for me. I loved the RTS aspect of it and found that each of the three races were balanced quite well but had enough of a difference to be unique. Reguler ladder games were fun over Battle.net and if you didn't have the time, you could just jump on a UMS map and play.

Nasa Sets Shuttle Launch Date Discovery set to fly...
AzNxSuperNova replied to sparx's topic in Science and Technology
Thanks for the updated information. I personally have an interest in all this since I'm studying to be an Aerospace Engineer. From what it seems, the competition seems to be good for the industry as it would create a high demand for people like me. But on a serious note, they will be forced to push further and the possibilities are endless. -
I personally tried this tutorial and it was very straight forward. I was able to get the results and find that it can easily be customized to suit your needs through the CSS <style> tag. I also would like to point out that when I opened it in Internet Explorer, it was initially blocked with Internet Explorer saying that it was restricting the file from showing active content that could access your computer. However, I'm not sure if other browsers block it. Either way, it was a great tutorial and very helpful.

I have played both Warcraft 3 with the Frozen Throne expansion and World of Warcraft and I personally would say that both games are good. The micromanagement in WC3 made it that much more competitive than just a StarCraft style zergfest since units were capped at a lower number. I personally like WC3 over WoW because of the variety of games that can be played over Battle.net. WoW in my experience used to be fun, but content is developed too slow in my opinion. Even now with the new 1.6 patch that releases BlackWing Lair, many guilds are dropping bosses left and right already because of the armor and weapons they had farmed while waiting for it to come out. In addition, the PvP aspect is there, but my expectations for it were different. It has turned into a zergfest where people just loot bodies for reputation points to earn their epic rewards. There is little to no strategy or skill involved unless an entire guild is in the Battleground and it would literally take hours just to zone everyone in while they waited. As a result, I no longer play it. If I could, I would still play WC3:FT in my spare time just to get a quick UMS game in, but unfortunately I lost my jewel case.

I'm not exactly sure what this animation will be used for, but from what it seems, it would make a great signature for the forums. As you said, the delay is quite noticeable and what I was wondering is what application did you use to make this animation in. Actually any info would be good so we could help you with that problem.

Nasa Sets Shuttle Launch Date Discovery set to fly...
AzNxSuperNova replied to sparx's topic in Science and Technology
I'm not too familiar with the whole X-Prize venture, but I take it that it is the first privately manned spacecraft to go into space. However, from what I read at X-Prize, it seems they made it to an altitude past 100km but thats still within the atmosphere I believe and therefore not weightless. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. What I would like to know is what other plans they have for the future and do they plan on landing on the moon? -
I just thought I'd throw in my two cents to this thread and say that I have no problem with what Gmail does. I have an account there and have sent multiple invites to friends for them to join the service. As a result, I find it safe for my general purpose. But the biggest thing is to just use some common sense when using the service. It's obviously not suggested to put personal identifying information such as a Social Security number or credit card info.
