  1. that rocks, but I also think that total training really make good training programs about photoshop, and other adobe products.
  2. well, MS office of course, I've heard of open office but never use that, but I know that in terms of price for a copy of the software open office is much cheaper than MS office, correct me if I am wrong. and also I can see more people are using MS, so there is no point to make the switch.
  3. well you can install a acrobat pro 6 or 7 (not acrobat reader), so the software will add a virtual pdf printer to your computer, and you can just use print from your excel and select the PDF printer then it will ask you where to save the PDF file, and just click OK to generate the PDF file.also there is a software called PDF factory, it works in the similar way as the acrobat pro.
  4. Just doubt about the gmail approach, till now they continue improve their service, and their e-mail box size, now it's about 2.3G, but they are still an invite only mail service provider, so any clue when they will open to the public, or that's the way they will provide their service for ever.
  5. en, try to reboot all your router/modem devices and flash the fireware to the up to date version, I used to have a d-link wireless router, and sometimes it keeps rebooting and I GUESS another possible reason is the voltage is not stable, or fire is not well connected, cos the modem I am using sometimes just keep dropping off
  6. It's slow really, I am opening my blog useing the tk domain while I am typing, but I till now I can still see is loading, so if really necessary I prefer a real domain, now it's getting really cheaper.
  7. i don't use them at all, I prefer to setup a little site myself using MT, that can be more editive and more fun, BTW seem not too much people mentioned blogger here, that's my first choice but unfortunately their blogspot.com address is all blocked by ISP , so I can't even visit my own blog.
  8. mine is urgly, ADSL modem + Wireless router, and two pc (one wired/one wireless) running xp and one PowerBook 15' (which I am using now), one epson printer connected to wired xp and shared (but I can't get my mac to print on it ) and btw a ps2 as well.
  9. Bluetooth can share small files in a short range, was that 10M? can't remember exactly, if you want share large files in an area, say home, just use a LAN or a more advanced wireless LAN.if you only have to computers that want to share files or play LAN pc games, you can just buy a Xover cable and plug to their sockets, then way to go.if you computer keeps doing that, possiblely because there are some hardwares you did not install drives, so just find it out and install drive for that device.
  10. well d-link is good but not cheap, maybe you can search ebay, there are always some cheaper deals around, don't buy some cheap one, the quality of signal is the most important thing, also the connection stability, you don't want to re-connect it 100 times a day, do you.
  11. en, that's exactly the one I plan to suggest, skype is a free pc to pc ware, and I think it works more effectively than msn, cos sometimes I can't get msn connected behind a firewall but the skype works fine. also you can use skype on an PDA, so if your company has wi-fi, then you can talk on the go.
  12. Just saw this from MacDailyNews that the OSX x86 version is leaking to the Internet, and I just found another picture from another forum Any Pro can tell if it's a original pic or a photoshop made pic. I was thinking that if it's true, will the x86 version bring all advantage of osx to a pc? Like stability, much less virus?
  13. just make the switch, upgrade to tiger you will see it's much better and I personally feel it runs faster than 10.3.X, and now the update is avalible for tiger, so it's now that buggy.
  14. yep, I thought the same thing, but if the account can still be kept after 60 days, than I will try it, although 15M is not a big mail box, but @mac.com is really cool
  15. as I know that even mac is not absolute virus Free, but just much less than win system. Difficult to say, but my Powerbook 1G sure not good for game, it's getting too hot after about 30 mins play. and I tried to install sims2, OMG just forget it. I chose powerbook, because I didn't know much about apple computer, yes didn't know much, just heard of it and saw them in stores. So just want to know more about it, and bought one. I'd say that OSX is good stable OS, and less virus, but it's a bit heavy to carry around.
  16. I used to install more than one OS on my system, like Linux/xp, linux/XXXX/xp, or other combination, but after I installed those OS, I hardly use them at all, those days lack of drive support is a main reason, so there maybe no sound or 256K display etc. So I realise that what I need is only a xp that I can game, Internet and do some video work on it.
  17. I haven't tried it out yet, but from it's description the functions are more or less the same as the MAC OS Tiger Spotlight, but the difference is, this is not intergrated in the system by M$.
