Star Wars - Revenge Of The Sith whats it like?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to imajin8shun's topic in Computer Gaming
I have heard nothing great about it... its one of the numerous games trying to make some quick cash off a movie liscense. Basically I've been hearing its not horrible, but not worth the money and far from standing alongside the best star wars games -
What Type Of Graphic Card? Should I buy
Jeigh1405241495 replied to etan's topic in Hardware Workshop
Which unreal...I've played unreal, UT, and UT2K4 on my 9600pro and 9800 pro's and they all ran fine. ATI -used- to have problems with there drivers, now both companies are on euqal grounds. Ati even had the lead I would say until this last generation where nVidia finally realized they had competition now so started trying again. No matter which card you get it'll be awesome. Don't avoid one or the other because you hear a single horror story -
As far as I'm concerned...hotmail is trash in comparison. I've registered accounts and used them soley to email friends, registered at NO sites, still got spam. IN MY INBOX. Meaning it got PAST the filters I had enabled for spam. With gmail I sign up for stuff everywhere, email everyone, rarely get spam period and if I do its ALL caught by the spam filters. That alone is reason for me to prefer gmail over the others...the filters.Other then that the actual design and functionality of the gmail site is leaps and bounds above many others as far as I'm concerned. I love the style and layout while hotmails/yahoo/etc seem kinda plain. Sure hotmail gets the job done, and having msn linked to it is a nice feature... but I'll keep my nice msn for msging and gmail for email anyday.

Hmm, if anyone has any good ones I would appreciate the link as well. I havn't actually looked around for a tutorial but I've been thinking about learning a bit -o- php so a tutorial that someone else can vouch for would be nice.

Yea I know I personally waited a fair while after seeing that because I assumed it was up to date and kind of just forgot about applying...then I looked lately and realized it was still there and checked and, lo and behold, people were applying and being accepted so I got off my *bottom* and got mine posted lol. But I know that the warning about applications being on hold did indeed throw me off for awhile...if they were a long time ago it'd be best to remove them imo

What Type Of Graphic Card? Should I buy
Jeigh1405241495 replied to etan's topic in Hardware Workshop
It depends what you mean by "handle"...I have a 9800 pro 128mb as well, and it can PLAY every game out there but it can't have high or max settings on a handful of them. It's already showing its age a bit in games like Doom3 and Battlefield2 and whatnot...all the resource hog games that are showing up recently. I mean its a good card, just wouldn't reccomend it as a new purchase now unless money was a severe factor. But for 1-300 you can get a much better card probably. -
If you have the choice between wired or not, and you care about security, then wired is your best bet. While as long as the wireless connection is encrypted somehow then over a short hotel stay I cant imagine anyone cracking into your system, its always easier to grab a wireless signal then wired.I mean in my apartment building my wireless card can detect 3 unprotected networks that I can just hop onto without asking and a few protected ones that I could probably break into with the proper software over a matter of time. Wired on the other hand you actually need to usually get past hardware firewalls and whatnot, thus adding security.

Hi, I just registered for a new account and uploaded what will eventually be my website. What I uploaded was probably under half a meg of data, tops (like I said, just the beginning) so I was poking around in the cpanel and noticed it said my disk usage was 150.81/150mb :| Now I don't know, but I think theres something wrong with that haha. Now it let me upload data still so I figured maybe it was a mistake but upon looking around at the fantastico section I noticed it said I don't have the room left to install a 1-2mb add-on?? I can't imagine it was anything I did to cause this so I was just wondering how to go about emptying up what seems to be a mass of data on my account?(Oh and in my disk usage viewer it shows file sizes that would be a few megs or so at most added up, not 150+...)

Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 7 review
Jeigh1405241495 replied to fillrbnny's topic in Computer Gaming
If you've ever played Xenogears, another squaresoft (before square enix...lol) RPG you'd know that graphics are irrelevant. Frankly by todays standards the graphics are horrible. It came out after FF7 and looks a fair bit worse. Yet the game is amazing and you stop noticing the bad graphics once you start playing. Alot of great games can pull you in so the graphics just become part of the experience, not something to notice enough to like or dislike. -
Which reason struck you as crud? If its the "waiting for a cure to a disease" one it makes sense to me...just because if I knew I could live through years of pain then die...or freeze and wake up in 50-100 years and be cured instantly and live a healthy life...I know which I would choose :lol:Oh and kudos on the space flight concept, that never even occured to me at all. It seems like it would indeed be a very viable solution for the whole "other planets are frickin far away" problem...assuming you could find volunteers for it

Adobe is extremely reliable (except I did corrupt the entire program once and had to reinstall it...but that wasn't my or adobes fault haha) but I do agree that its startup time leaves something to be desired especially on lower end hardware. At home its fine since I have a fairly speedy rig but at work here the comp I'm on is kind of mid-low level so it could use a speedier pdf viewer since I have to use pdf files all the time lately.

Jeigh1405241495 replied to fillrbnny's topic in Websites and Web Designing

Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail Whos winning the battle?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to jcguy's topic in Websites and Web Designing
While I don't think it's simply a battel of "who has the most storage offered for free" but I still think gmail will win. There interface is amazing, the spam filter works great, and the whole design concept is something I rpefer over yahoo/hotmail. Hotmail is a piece of trash IMO, they get spam too readily and the filters can't handle how much they eventually get. I had one account I rarely gave out and never used on any site and still got a hell of a lot of spam for such an obscure address. With my gmail account I sign up for stuff everywhere, and any spam that causes has been caught by the filter. I don't think a single piece has gotten thru.Gmail all the way -
Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 7 review
Jeigh1405241495 replied to fillrbnny's topic in Computer Gaming
Actually when it was released the FMV's were insanely high quality, but the actual graphics were still nothing special... other games of that time period had similar or better graphics. The only real graphical mastery it had was the FMV's and some of the effects for the spells n whatnot.and WoW is an MMORPG not an RPG... -
Electronic Arts: The Human Story White Collar Slave Drivers?
Jeigh1405241495 replied to Mastermund's topic in Computer Gaming
Yea I had read about this elsewhere awhile ago... and frankly it sucks but I don't see it changing unless people more directly involved act. Not only will people keep buying their games...if you like games you WILL eventually probably buy one of theirs. EA has their hands in alot more products then most people think. Saying its only sports is so far from true its not even funny. Just think how many games have that wonderfuly annoying logo at the first... I would like to see this change but at the same time I know I won't stop buying/playing their games since...as the article said... the big game companies are buying up the smaller ones at a fast rate. Soon there will be none OTHER then the big names meaning if u don't buy their stuff, eventually you'll only be getting open source basic games, none of the high rollers. -

Golden Eye 007 For The N64 review for this classic
Jeigh1405241495 replied to fillrbnny's topic in Computer Gaming
I never owned the game since I only had the better of the consoles of that generation but I played it alot at friends places and it was always a good time...never loved it like most tho. BUt I could appreciate its awesomeness. Also I need to point out how funny it is that you refer to the N64 as "old games" heh. Oh how time flies...I remember when old skool meant like.. pre NES :| -
Haha yea I know eh? I was thinking of trying it out but then I just figured I'd wait for someone else to satisfy my curiosity. Well done Herbert heh
