  1. Hey there, I've been slowly studying up on html while I earn enough credits to get a page and I've run across two curious points to do with fonts and questions about them. You can use your own fonts, but unless a visitor has the font you specify in your source code, they won't see it, but you cann't upload a font to where you upload your site page files and reference it there...does anyone know why this is?And secondly, I have yet to run across a list of fonts that are loaded by default on various operation systems. Does a list of fonts that automatically get installed with various OS' exsist somewhere? and if so, can you post links here to them?thanks
  2. There are a whole host of giant robot fighting games, mechwarrior, zone of the enders, etc etc. My question to you is, waht makes a good mech game? What features/options do you like to see? alright, so recently I've been doing some research on a new mech game coming out for the PS2 called S.L.A.I. (steel lancer arena international) hunting after a demo that came out with with an issue of OPM that came out Febuary. And there haven't been that many good reviews from people on it. and I can't understand it. Slai is the second release of a game called Phantom Crash that debuted on the xbox last year, this game has been almost completely underground from the fact that it didn't sell barely and is not even sold/produced in Canada at all anymore. But it was one of my favourite games for the xbox and I still play it all the time. Phantom Crash/Slai are mech games that offer a ton of custimization and variety, and is a little different form most games in the fact that it is mostly geared towards speed and non "stomp stomp" kind of motion/maneuverability that you get in Mechwarrior games.
  3. For example, the gametypes we play (pretty generic)...CTF rules-first to 5 points-flag reset on touch-map weapons-map vehiclesmaps we use are blood gultch, we occasionally do side winder but the teams are usually uneven so they end up being: me(good) and a bunch of mediocre players vs a bunch of okay players. On blood gultch I can pretty much do all the work and just position my team mates in positions of best distraction or to grab the flag, that kind of thing. Sidewinder is a bit too big and I doen't have as many tricks to pull out of my sleave for it. =/Rockets Only-first to 50-rockets onlymap is that really really tiny one (I only no the maps by picture in halo1 '''), we've done it on bigger maps, but it never gets as frantic or as exciting with any other mapTeam/Slayer-first to 50-map weapons/vehiclesmap is pretty much anything, we do alot of hang 'em high, and a few of the other medium sized maps.Oddball-first to 5 mins-map weapons/vehiclesmap is usually hang 'em high, we pull this out at the end of the night, not too many like it, so what we do is me and one other person vs everyone else. My buddy picks up the oddball and just runs/hides and I gaurd him =D LOL this is my favourite thing to do when I'm buzzed because I really get into it and it's a ton of fun (for me ''')just a few examples, they're pretty generic, anyone else have any gametypes that they play over Lan with friends?
  4. Hey, I get together with a bunch of friends and we battle it out over a lan playing halo1 alot (I've tried to upgrade them to halo2, but most don't have xboxs and to change after getting used to halo1 is too much of a hassle =/)we play alot of ctf, rockets only and slayer/team slayer stuff.Does anyone have any suggestions for gametypes to play with a group of 6 or more people? (maps that correspond to the game types'd be good too =D )
  5. It all comes down to the games man, browse around to your friends that have the systems and borrow if you can, other wise check out the games that they have. PS2 has a better library of games from all over the genres as well as free online play Xbox has a slowly growing library of games and their online play costs if you think about it, they're pretty much the same, at this time they each have quality games from each genre (the xbox lacking in the rpg section unfortunately) they each have atleast one top notch game for each genre that could make or break the decision for you. I've got an xbox but I'm glancing at the ps2 right now becuase of a few games I covet. My Advice would be to go through the different games that interest you and see which console has the most games that you are willing to go out and buy, and then buy that system.
  6. I picked up an ati all-in-wonder card end of last year and I've been running dual moniters since. Best thing in the world because I do a bit of video editing and stuff as a hobby (hence the a-i-w), three would be a bit ridiculus, but a third output would be good for video editing because it coudl be a tv and allow you to see exactely how your work would look on a tv without having to burn dvds/cds/vhs to check after you've done all your work (this is a HUGE help, btw, the not having to wait till you've completed your work to check how it looks)I buggered up my card somehow when I was doing some internal changes to my computer though, sent it in under warranty, now I feel so squished
  7. I realized the internet was completely boring to me about a year ago =/ I don't really do much on the internet except for research and chatting. I check my emails and a few forums that are related to current projects or friend's things and taht doesn't really take that long. What I really use the internet for is gaming, as in xbox live, I've never had a high performance computer and never relaly got into pc gaming that much, but I love to hop on my xbox and just play against other people =)
  8. I'm don't know much about html (it's been two years since I had to learn it at school), but there is a standard form of html that works on all browsers, right? As in basic tags and tables kind of things?or am I completely wrong with this? It doesn't seem to smart to have a couple hundred different browsers that all read html in different ways, there has to some form of standardization, otherwise the internet would become impossible to use.
  9. Is rss a better way to provide content/fils for download for sites? or is this just another way of providing textual data to people browsing your site?
  10. 0.o I have to agree, doesn't going to a "computer" shooting range kind of take away from the whole point of going out to a live shooting range? It was mentioned before, but the whole point of going out and doing that kind of thing is to get away from your life and just take a break =P to do it from the computer doesn't really give you the same kind of release...
  11. This kind of thing just gives me the creeps, but I guess it's no different then any other branch of the gov't like the CIA or that kind of thing, seeing as that type of branch has a crazy amount of spy equipment and satalites and things =P
  12. Those release dates you guys are talking about are actually the unveiling dates. PS3 and Xbox2 will be shown off at E3 this may, i think the dates are 16-18 but I don't know for sure.where the confusion comes in is when Sony and MS were battling for who would unveil their new system first. LOL first MS made an announcement as to time, then Sony made an announcement saying they'd unveil their system 3 hours earlier and they went back and forth a couple times. MS ended up winning though, they're doing an unveiling on the 11 or 12 of May through MTV, so watch out for that.
