Blu-ray DVD format have gain another supporter, Warner Bros It is reported in BBC news http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4362906.stm The headline of the article said "Sony wins major DVD studio ally." But actually, Warner Bros said it will release DVDs in the Blu-ray as well as HD DVD formats. The movie studios love Blu-ray DVD format because it is more securer.

after Bill Gate said Blue-Ray disc's protection scheme under is Very anti-Consumer. They asked Blue-ray to include the mandatory managed copy, which allowing users to copy high-definition movies onto PCs from discs and distribute them on home networks.HP also asked Blue-ray to support iHD, which will be implemented in Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system.I think if Blue-ray fail to do that, HP may give it up and support HD-DVD instead. HD-DVD have have more change to be the standard of Next-Gen DVD with wintel's support.

Google will stop issuing new UK subscribers with a @gmail.com address. It is because the term Gmail have been used by a London based firm two years ago. Google still did not introduced their free web-mail application. Google will ssue a @googlemail.com address instead of @gmail.com. Current UK users of Google's service will not be affected. However, it forced Google to drop their Gmail name in Germany in May. @gmail.com is their most high-profile brands. Without this gmail address, would you still want to sign up an account? Although Blue-Ray is good, there is HD-DVD in the market. HD-DVD is its main competitor. Bill Gate said Blue-Ray disc's protection scheme under is Very anti-Consumer, which would make them harder to on the personal computers. I think this may be the reason why Microsoft decided to support HD DVD format instead of Blu-ray format recently. Bill Gate also said that "the studios got too much protection at the expense consumers and it wonât work well on PCs". for more detail what Bill Gate said, please go to X-bit labs yes...too much protection...

Installing the patch (MS05-051), which was released Tuesday to fix four Windows flaws in Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 is causing serious problems for some users. according to C|Net News.com, users will be locked out of their PC, the Windows Firewall wont be started, certain applications may be blocked from running or installing, and the network connections folder will be emptied. This happen only when you change the default permission settings on a Windows directory. The solution is unstall this patch or restore the default permissions for the Windows folder and the COM+ catalog. Here is a guide on the Microsoft Web site, and steps start with changing the permissions on the "registration" folder in the Windows directory. http://dw.com.com/r.html

Inspired by biological systems, scientists have developed miniature robots that can self-assemble using parts that float randomly in their environments. The robots can correct their own mistakes. AI, robots that build themselves, one rogue robot that watches "Terminator" or "AI" and gets some ideads in it AI.... MSNBC

Autodesk only releases 3D Studio Max for Windows. They will definitely control the 3D modeling software market. in this year, first adobe and macromedia, now autodesk and Alias what's next? Microsoft buys Sun? Bittorrent technology has just received a commitment of $8.75 million in financial support. Bittorrent will be built into a commercial distribution tool for media companies. The author got that much money for just a program... it must be RIAA/MPAA's new weapon against downloaders. One more thing, if it becomes commercial program, bitorrent will no longer be open source. Those third party applications such as Azurezus have to pay fees if they still want to devolving/distributing them. is that correct??? http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Outpost firewall just was just released its new 3.0 version. This version includes an Anti-Spyware plugin plus an ARP (Ethernet) filtering tab for the Attack Detection plugin. I love the new ID Block feature. it prevents my personal data leaks. outpost is my favourite firewall. Configurable, but also good out-of-the-box. Give it a try. Get it here http://www.agnitum.com/index.php and it is small, 4.5MB only. ZoneAlarm pro 6.0 is about 9MB.
