  1. We need to know how these F1-12 keys are handled on your computer.Probably a daemon task is running on your computer, trapping these keystokes. If this is the case, simply kill the program and restart it when you stop playing on the computer. And if it's a service, just stop the service. If you have enough cpu and memory, another way could be playing games on a virtual machine hosted on the same computer. So, you don't need to change your physical computer settings. Should work, when you will be on the virtual system the F1-F12 keys should be passed to the virtual OS, and not to the physical system.

On some gateways, this might work. On others, though, it will not work, as the key sequence is caught at the motherboard level. I have a gateway machine that I uninstalled windows 8 and re-installed windows 7, and the f keys are all like that.

The problem with running a virtual machine in this kind of situation is that the keys are still captured at the motherboard, and not passed on to the overlying operating system. I have to hold a Fn key and hold the f key that I want on my gateway laptop to get the f key to register. I really hate this arrangement, and have contacted gateway tech support several times, and they tell me that there is nothing that can be done about this, as it is designed to make working with windows 8 better. Like you could make that travesty any better. lol

  2. Whats the difference between a drunk driver and a stoned driver?A drunk driver will go right through a stop sign while a stoned driver will sit at it and wait for it to turn green.

Hey, That's not true, I wait for the stop sign to turn green with puple spots. :P

And if I wait long enough, it will soon do it, at least for me... :P

  3. It is as simple as this (As long as it is Windows XP): 1.) Click on the Windows Start Button. 2.) Click on Control Panel 3.) Click on Performance and maintinance 4.) Click on Administrative Tools 5.) Double Click on Click on Computer Managment 6.) Click on Disk Managment 7.) At the Bottom of that screen, right click on the drive that you want to assign a letter to, and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.. 8.) Click on the Drive that you are assigning in the pop up dialog. 9.) Click Change10.) In The drop down box that is shown, select the letter that you would like assigned, then Finaly, 11.) Click on okay. You have just reassigned the drive letter for that drive..I am a pro DJ, and have my computer that I use in show set up with ten USB external HD's that are all assigned this way, so that when I start the machine up, they are still the same drive letters....-William

  4. Who said he died by a heartfailure because of playing WoW? Maybe he just got a heart failure, not because of the game, but because there was something wrong with his heart.

I Think that you might be more on the right track with that train of thought. I would believe the two things just happen to coincide, both that he was playing WoW, and that he suffered from massive heart failure. I don't see any way that WoW can cause your heart to stop.

But, if he had not eaten in 7 days, or had any water for 3 days, that still would not cause heart failure. He would have died from starvation or dehydration if that were the case.

I don't think that this story came froma reliable source.

  5. im not a playstation 3 player so im not going to waste my mony on a game im not going to play, ill probably get into ps3 or xbox 360 or even nintendo revolution but not wastin time on ps2 isnt in my mind at the moment

Alright, time to show how slow I can be at the moment.

I have just yesterday bought the Original XBOX, not 360, the first model. I waited for all the stupid people to trade in their old XBOX, and get the non-backward compatible 360, and drive down the price. I just payed 75 bucks for the thing.

Does Socom 3 have an Xbox version?

If so, then I am on it like stink on trash. I have liked SOCOM 1 and 2.

  6. It gives you instant spyware and malware as well.

    My favourites are:

    Shareaza

    Ares

Both are free of crap and have a lot of files, especially Shareaza, as it connects to E-mule and E-donkey 2000 servers as well.

Shareaza is one of the worst at malware out there. The key is, if you plan on using P2P Software, have a goo AV program, Like McAfee, of Norton, or Avast. And, you will also need a good spyware blocker, like Webroot's Spysweeper.

Yes, I love to use Limewire, and I have to do all of this each time that I run the software...

  7. I used to play Runescape, but have gotten so busy, what with a new wife, new child, new job, and a new busy period at work I haven't had any time to play.I used to be a paid subscriber, but when Version 2.0 came out, it was too much for my low power comp to handle.....I think the game is really great, except for the fact that it requires so many resources......-William

  8. Hi there!

I was just trying to access PHPmyadmin in the cpanel, but it told me to use the right username. Took me 2 minutes to figure out: No users, no databases set up. My site can't access it either. I had full databases installed and used them 2 hours ago!

Ok, this is the third time in one week, that I have severe inaccessibility problems with Xisto..

CUT I just tried again and now it is working the same way it was before. What the ÂŽĂÂŞ??

Is this regular behaviour at Xisto and do I just have to live with the fact that my site goes west twice a week without any explanation and comes back from its vacation sooner or later? This is very annoying and I really demand an explanation for this behaviour lately, it is worrying me, because I like the host in all other aspects.

    regards, ruben

We are not quite through with the Datacenter change. When the transfer is complete, all will be as it was before the change....

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know!!!

  9. i have the same problem from time to time... it's quite disturbing actually ! if i type :

    http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/.... unable to display.... ! if i type http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ i have a small chance.... ! i hope it won't be always like this...  :)

If you want http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, you would have to setup a subdomain that is called www.

You are already setup as using a subdomain, and when calling http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/.... you are telling the server at the bottom end that you are looing for a subdomain called www.....

  10. Weapon X, you are on the ball today....But there is a better pay software to use than AdWatch, and that is webroot's Spysweeper.I have used this setup with the free version of Ad-Aware for about two years now.I have never had any problems with the software.......-William

  11. Definition of ISO from Wikipedia:

An ISO image in computing is a disc image of an ISO 9660 file system.

ISO is not a format persay, but it is a simple file format that takes an image of the disk, meaning a copy of all of the data on the disk, and creates a file of all of the data.

If you download CD's off the internet, then you are downloading an ISO file.

As a small trivia note, ISO comes from the internation Orginization for Standardization, And the Term comes from latin vulgate Isos, or Equality.

  12. William (wwheeler), yes I know my SSID.  I even double checked it in my router settings to make sure I spelled it correctly and in the same case.  Everything matches, but no connection.

I have set both to the same encryption (at least I think I did).  I made sure each (my Mac and PC) has the same amount of characters in it for the 128 bit encryption.  Everything is the same for both the PC and Mac except I can't connect on the Mac.  I click on connect in Mac and it seems to be getting it but nothing is really happening.  I have waited a long time on it just to make sure...nothing B)

Does it have to be Hex if I didn't set it?  Mine were all digits basically.  I did it on the router, my laptop's 802.11g card and also for the Mac computer.  If I input it in Hex for the Mac, the number of characters for the particular encryption won't match (too little characters).

Don't think the router is the problem.  It's a Westell Versalink 327W 802.11G modem/router.  It has worked great for me the whole year...no problems at all.  Don't care if it's G or B either.  802.11b is more than enough for my 3Mbps DSL connection.  No home network setup here, just sharing internet.

Have you tried connecting to the router and turning off WEP and seeing if the Mac could connect??

If not, I would recommend trying that and just seeing what you can get on the Mac. If that doesn't work, try it with SSID broadcasting on...

If either of these work, let me know, and I can tell you how to set them the way that you want and still connect from the Mac....

  13. Yes, in the U.S. you must be eighteen to enter into a legal contract, and that is what you are doing with AdSense.....The laws are setup that way because marriage is a binding contract, and to get married under the age of eighteen, you must have parental permission......That is just one of those old school laws that has yet to be changed....-William
