  1. hmm...i guess that's true. It would make it a bit easier, but it'll still invoke a type of patience I'm not very well suit for >.> by the way...good job on the example animation
  2. lol, that's cool. But it seems a bit tedious. Tracing over the frames? Ha...i wouldn't have the patience to do something like that =P
  3. it's interesting how there alternative browsers are becomign so popular now. It use to just be two main types...and now even google is coming up with their own model. Sigh, well...I'm still curious so I'll prob download it if it comes out
  4. well, generally you'd use transparencies to put one layer over another. This way you will be able to blend together different pictures into one. Also, like you mentioned, gif extensions that are not at a hundred percent opacity will look faded. So make sure it's at a hundred before actually saving.
  5. no problem...just helping out a fellow web designer
  6. I'm a Phoenix fan. Especially now that Nash has been traded over there. As for Jason Kidd (since everyone seems to like him), he's a good player...but he's a wifebeater and thus I lost a lot of respect for him. That was the reason why he was traded away in the first place to the Nets >.>
  7. hmm, I'm really surprised no one mentioned this: the opacity filter in the div. Simply stick style="Filter: Alpha(Opacity=30)" into the div tag and everything inside it will be only 30% opacity. It's as easy as that. No programs or anything....just simple css coding
  8. I too, am a PHP fan. But never having made a full website with asp, I not really qualified to critique the differences between php and asp.
  9. hmm...i'm mainly a mozilla firefox user...though I often use IE for certain things. Truthfully, I have forgotten why I'm using mozilla's product over microsoft's...but I've grown so accustommed to my firefox, I can't go back to IE without feeling awkward. I personally think microsoft should continue with IE dispite some of the transitions people are going through,
  10. just as the topic states. Where do I request the ability to have parked-domains in my cpanel? It already says unlimited parked domains, but I can't seem to find that option.
  11. well see...once I had this stats thing that would count the daily hits and unique hits for only a week, before replacing the stats with newer ones. The only part that stays consistent is the "per month" stats. So i couldn't count the daily hits past a week. It was a rather bad statistic website...forgot the name of it anyways =P
  12. yea...it might help. It kind of gives you an idea of how decent your website is doing in comparison to other sites with similiar content =P it doesn't necessarily mean the site is better though... it's a shame how there so many good sites with good content but can't do well with rankings
  13. sigh, it'd be nice if someone would answer...otherwise i could be doing something illegal without knowing and thus losing my hosting account...
  14. well, I personally only like the uni.cc type of "free domain" where they have DNS capabilities. Redirections slow down slower computers...
  15. page transitions are very annoying in my opinion...but here's how you'd do it anyways: <meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=5.0)"><meta http-equiv="Page-Exit" content="blendTrans(Duration=1.0)">stick that in the page you wanna have the transition. There are many types of transitions...one of which is the blendTrans(Duration=#) as shown above. Others would be revealTrans(Duration=# Transition=1), revealTrans(Duration=# Transition=2),revealTrans(Duration=# Transition=3),etc.And duration is how long the transition is going to last (please note, I'm not a hundred percent sure about all these because, again, I am not a fan of page transitions)
  16. hmm, seems interesting. Don't know if I could find much use for it because I usually search for the colors I desired in Photoshop
  17. hmm be sure to play around with a lot of the settings before actually saving. Check out the options in the "optimized" palette on the right...and if that doesn't seem to working too well for you, perhaps if you use a .jpg or a .png file extension instead, you be able to achieve the clarity you are searching for
  18. er....it'd be nice if someone would reply an answer for me...I'm sure someone here knows. I'm just a bit curious about how it works.
  19. hmm....well sometimes it's a matter of preference. I just prefer using notepad. I use to use Frontpage, but then stopped after a while and stuck with the simple notepad. It gets the job done and I'll content with the results it provides me
  20. uh...I always thought .swf was the extension for a flash file. Hmm, well, I'm not a big "flash mx" user dispite having my brother installing it into my family's computer
  21. lol, well, first off I'm not bragging that I'm using notepad. I just find it much more efficient then using a big program such as Dreamweaver and other programs to do such a simple task like coding a site. Sometimes you can even cut out the uploading process by writing the html/java/php straight into cpanel lol. That is...if I'm short on time
  22. alright, obviously it is illegal to have copyrighted music on your hosting...whether it's in Xisto or anywhere else. But what if i have a file that i recorded, but is based on copyrighted sheet music? Can I host that legally? And what if i had figured a song out on my own or with the aid of some uncopyrighted sheet music and recorded that...is that illegal to host and display to the general public? thanks in advance for any help
  23. sites that use flash is nice, but I was never a true fan of a full flash-based website. Unless, all you plan is to dazzle your viewers with pretty colors and sounds...it seems somewhat useless in my opinion
  24. dispite it all, I still prefer jpeg over both gif and png. I guess it's just a personal preference though...I just like how the way a jpeg file keeps the 256 colors looking decent even when compressed
  25. lol, what an insightful topic. I'll be sure to refer here again if i ever need a second opinion about cpanel...
