  1. You ought to try something with colouring and code completion, it'll ease your life alot. Like Dreamweaver as Coder.
  2. Is the filename of that file "index.php" ? Because if it is you're just in an infinite loop :)Loading index.php=> default: including index.php==> loading index.php===> default: including index.php[...]
  3. Very helpful, thanks a dozen for sharing this
  4. Don't do this. You've already an own thread about this. Don't make a new one, and certainly not to post another one of these. You'll be helped whenever somebody with authority can help.Locked.
  5. independant from the value of page and without any specific errors or such?
  6. If you don't know what a hyperlink is... That oh Lord help us, what are you doing on a forum trying to get posts to get webhosting? If I might ask? ;D
  7. I'm sure you can control the graphical weight like you can in XP, and by the way, this OS wasn't made for slow *bottom* pcs, it was made for the pcs which will be built in 2005; highend, high clockspeed pcs, with far better performance than today.
  8. Does the file work if you start it manually..?
  9. Eats bandwidth? They all just output the same thing, HTML. JSP Can't eat any more bandwidth than PHP ASP or whatever. Because the only bandwidth that's used is the output from the script, and that's just plain old simple HTML.And this topic was about JSP & ASP, not PHP
  10. Flash sites have some huge disadvantages. You can't copy/paste text from/in them. You can't copy an URL to show a specific thing to somebody else, you need to tell them what options to click and all to get there.... They're slow to load, high in graphics, not dynamic enough regarding resolutions etc They're very hard to manage and maintain in a dynamic environment. If you need to update your site often it's a pain in the *bottom*. It often gets far too confusing and misleading for users. Not everybody has flash support, so you limit your target audience even more. The sounds with them are often uncalled for and can lead to increadible annoyance with some users. Using sounds on the web without users expecting them is a big No No. Flash is very nice and amasing for high quality feed, but not at all an option for full website, as it defeats the entire concept of what a website is supposed to be. Accessable, dynamic, and expansive.
  11. Webservers don't need any sort of support for the PNG format, ISPs don't need support for it either. By the way, you're seriously confusing ISP & Webhosts here. ISP is the company that provides you with access to the internet. They have nothing to do with webservers.. They're the ones that bring the internet to you, through which your connections work. The only one thing that needs support for the PNG format is the client you're using to view the PNGs, be it your image viewing program or your webbrowser or whatever. And BTW, Internet Explorer has serious problems with handly PNG Alpha Transparency.. Decent browsers don't. That actually sounds like a very very bad idea. PNG is to be used for paletted images, images with not too many colours. High/Truecolor images, with many colour variations, are still better off with JPEG encoding.
  12. [somewhat later] I signed up with that link, so you have one referred person already. *sneakily replaces microdude431's url with his own..* *whistles innocently* =) Don't worry, I wouldn't. ;P Here's mine, though: Should one be interested in helping me out a bit as well.
  13. ?What sucks about hyperlinks..? If you don't like them.. what are you doing browsing the web..? ;\ Hyperlinks are the foundations of it... and no, it's a very good thing that users post bigger content behind hyperlinks other than on the page. That way they allow viewers to go there or not. Choice.
  14. Bigyan, first of all, please edit your last post, don't post a new one. We don't like double posting. Secondly, there is no GBrowser as of yet, there's only just some assumptions started by the New York Times that Google may be developing one. There is no release nor beta nor alpha nor milestone nor nightbuild nor whatever available. And the forum, jees, just check it out for yourself.. :/
  15. I do agree on you that he may be overselling, but I don't see a problem there. For most of the other issues, I mostly agree as well, but let's continue this conversation here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/80439-topic/?findpost= And centralise this problem a little. I believe the time for discussion is over and the time for OpaQue to end it is at hand. This conversation will continue in the above stated thread, therefore, topic here, closed.
  16. Using more space and/or bandwidth than what you have? In that case, you helped me prove that Xisto is not overselling. Because they do not use more than what they have. They would, should every member suddenly use almost their max allowed disk quota / bandwidth. Which is statistically impossible. I think OpaQue doesn't have any knowledge about CGI Telnet, and must have figured that it was a fake script set up to prove that his hosting sucked. I think he's witnessed more than enough people unrightfully trying to take Xisto down, and lost his patience for a decent investigation into this. That's a very interresting thread there. OpaQue must have tried to defend himself and Xisto, trying to convince everybody that nothing was going on. And to do that allow himself to slip away from the truth in an attempt to be more convincing. Sad. But oh well, it's not because one man lies that a company falls. The facts still don't exclude that Xisto can be a more than decent host compared to all the others out there. I just have, thank you for that, but I still think, as I said that there is no serious lacking in this service. There may indeed be lies spread by OpaQue, I don't know about that for sure, I hope he'll shed light on this, but I still have a decent account here, and the services offered are good. I see no reason as why I should doubt it. How he got them, is beyond my care, as long as they work as expected.
  17. Heh, just evaluated your post on the topic of this thread. *whistles*
