  1. Have you tried reinstalling your sound card drivers / DirectX? They may have somehow gone corrupted which causes them to fail. Can you also specify a bit more clearly what exactly and as far in detail as you can happens when your MP3 stops? Blue Screen? Shutting down? Or just complete and instant power down and black screen? Reboot after? Etc.. Also does it happen with any MP3? If I read this correctly then I take it you can't ever run more than one MP3 on your pc in a boot, since after it ends it dies. And does it also happen when you skip from one MP3 to another? Or when you pause one?

    WEp

WEP is a protocol.WLan is Wireless LAN.WEP is a protocol to secure transmissions over WLAN and can nowadays also be implemented in normal wired LANs.If the question you're asking is whether to install wired or wireless LAN, then say so, but that depends alot more on your environment and planned use, than our opinions. So share those with us before asking.
  3. Please first read the forums before making threads. Go here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/80082-topic/?findpost=1064275112 Thread locked.
  4. Royter, please. Posts that have little or no meaning will be regarded as spam. With 50 posts, we mean big posts. Of at least 3 lines and information valuable to the entire comunity. All posts you make that do not apply to this will be disregarded when checking your post count. I'll delete your spam posts now, please don't let it happen again. And contacting the admin happens in the forum reserved for it: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/25-forum/ Enjoy Xisto.
  5. You first need to make 50 posts at least. Then you can request an admin to create your account, and then you will be able to log in.
  6. Comments: Invalid HTML, the BGSound tag does not exist! Illegal CSS, there is no such attribute expression() Invalid CSS, there are no such attributes Scrollbar-*. And now, Fspears, as a final warning, 1. Keep all this stuff in one and the same thread 2. At least if you post stuff like this, make sure it's CORRECT what you're posting 3. Do not flood the entire Scripting forum with this 4. I should lower your post count with 20. This is NOT the way you go about to increase the post count, and honestly, this shows alot about your designing skills. If I were the owner here, I wouldn't think of giving you hosting. Ok, I've fixed up most of your posts. Please mark what I said and keep this place a little clean. Note that you're not the only person making threads here. If everybody did what you just did this place would be chaos. Damn you people, can't you think of that yourselves. Just don't let me catch you spamming like this again =P Post an URL instead!
  7. It's pointless remedying an illness without working on the cause. You'll only make it come back. Therefore, first get decent habits, then cure urself. And you'll never need to worry about a thing. =P
  8. And me, well, I plan to become it anyway :)Actually, I doubt that. The evolution of the internet goes so quick, and a new world war can't be too far away. Wars always boost intel and other technologies. There is still hope!
  9. Do not that IE doesn't support PNG 24bit's alpha transparancy functionality. Actually, with the same settings as a GIF they are smaller, and comparing them to a JPEG, with the same quality, they are smaller as well. Although JPEG has a more powerfull lossy compression algorythm.. They aren't better quality than BMPs, though.. BMPs are almost raw data, they don't have any sort of lossy compression, with as result that they are indeed huge, but maintain the original (maximal) quality.
  10. The Internet will go down. It'll be replaced by another kind of network. Sooner or later. By a diffrent internet. But as we now know it, it won't always be like this. TCP/IP wise, that is.
  11. Actually, when your shell crashes, it restarts itself, you don't get a bluescreen. Or should not anyway. =P
  12. You'll need to use queries for that. $q = mysql_query("SELECT $columns FROM $table")$q will be a MySQL query result. To get the data from it use something like this: $qRow = mysql_fetch_array($q);$qRow will contain one row of the MySQL query. It will be in the form of an associative array. For example, if you have a table like this: NAME | ADDRESS John | MyStreetRox 89 Pete | MyStreetRoxMore 12 then your $qRow will contain the array with as key: [Name] and as value "John". And as key [Address] and as value "MyStreetRox89" Good Luck ( echo $qRow["Name"]; will give you John )
  13. Hmm, liking, what for? They're ok.. but there's far better out there. And yeah, Microsoft will not be developping any more browser technologies, the only thing they'll be doing conscearning browsers is integrating it even more into the Windows core.Although, recent events, like the decision of Adobe to use Opera's rendering technology in their webpage previewing of their WYSIWYG stuff, is expected to give Microsoft at least some push in the back. Since, when designers create a site and check it out in the previewer, which is based on Opera, everything will look beautifully good and neat, yet, when they open it in Internet Explorer, it will look ****ed because of the lack of Standards Compliance. This is expected to turn many of them against Microsoft which should push Microsoft to at least try and keep their stuff updated. We can only hope.
  14. Lol, honestly, there's like, never some admin or moderator online. Yet you seem to be here quite often and as am I. I'm not saying who it should be as I don't know the people here too well, but this board sure does need more moderators. I think I shall be talking to Opaque about this.
  15. tux_linux, Can you give us the User Priveleges of the current folder (/), and the activity log of when you connect to the server with another client should it work with another to compare? penner, You wouldn't happen to have any ports blocked outbound? Does it work with another FTP Client? Should you have SFTP/SCP access, try using that (windows: WinSCP)
  16. And jamesleon, please do pick a forum and post there, not in two or more fora. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/80306-topic/?findpost=1064276596
  17. With only HTML you cannot make a site with a nice layout. It surprises me that you say you know HTML. Alot.To make a page at least half decent, you'll need CSS. Without it, don't even try. Oh, and, I know I'm not in a perfect position to state this, being a new member here, but please don't double post. If you have something to add to what you just said, use the button. Thank you.
  18. Gentoo - A distro that's focussed on new technology and advanced users. If you know little or nothing about Linux, and you haven't the brains and patience to figure it out alone, then you shouldn't get anywhere near this one. If you do, however, than this distro offers you a wide spectrum of options, huge customisation, a 3-level installation procedure, a very solid packages system (emerge), and a great user assistance on the forums. They attempt to incorporate all the latest technologies, (also alpha & beta releases - at your own risk, of course) in their distros allowing you to benefit from a very broad spectrum of options.
  19. It is indeed most often a hardware error. But you shouldn't worry too much. Depending on what OS you need, it can be the OS being buggy.Windows 9x for example does it all the time, you shouldn't worry when it does, it's completely normal.Windows NT based OSes like NT, 2000, XP, 2003 shouldn't be doing it too often, and when it does, it's most likely to be a misconfiguration (reinstall video drivers etc..?) or a problem with your other hardware like RAM etc. If it only happens like once in a week or so, there's nothing to worry about for you. If it happens every few, then you need to think about getting your system checked...A Physical Dump, btw, is Windows writing whatever information the kernel (or other - depending on the kind) has in memory to the disk, this information can later be used by professionals at Microsoft to see what's wrong. But don't count on them helping you out, honestly.
  20. Or a company with a budget, as for that matter. Dynamicly adjusting a thousand pages by changing one line of code. A minute of work, time is money, and money is what makes the world go round.
  21. You only just proved that I was right, actually. =/ For one, if it doesn't always corrupt it's uninstall mechanism, it does sometimes, and a solution that works sometimes and screws up other times, is no solution at all but only worsening. Secondly, if it screws up the program you're working with, you're even further away from where you wanted to be. Yet again, the conclusion is, no removal. And indeed, remove spyware at your own risk, as I stated I do, but at your own risk, meaning, if you know nothing about it, be certain that you will most likely screw things up rather than making them better.
  22. Exactly, but it doesn't look like that's about to happen now that they discontinued Internet Explorer. We can only hope and pray that the browser integrated in Longhorn will have some decent support, but frankly, I'm quite certain that it'll only be a complete disapointment. Therefore, go Opera, and go Mozilla. The only way to make the web do what it can do optimally, is to have competition. I wouldn't wish for Opera to be the strongest (90% market share) because any company in that position will eventually fall in Microsoft's attitude. And dominate the web and it's rules. We need a constant struggle. Browser wars are healthy.
  23. Appearantly it works.. and there's nothing insane about it, it's just a high clock rate. As long as the thing still work on that high a clock rate, I reckon it's good. Nevertheless I doubt today's architecture is advanced enough for high clock rates like those.. maybe the 64bit architecture that's beginning to sneak into today's market will change that.
  24. I don't believe there is a filesize limit, and the only way other users can get to your gmail files is by signing in with your username and password..What you meant with the yahoo thing is probably that you need to sign into yahoo only once to activate all your features (mail & briefcase & ...), so when you signed in to your briefcase, you were logged in and able to see your mail as well? Either that or I completely misundertood what you attempted to say there. =)
  25. There are other great programs out there, photoshop just has the benefit of popularity. For example The Gimp, can undoubdedly compare. And it's completely free.Deivid, it might be because you've used photoshop since so long that you can't find any program that tops it, you would need to use the other program for an equal amount of years to compare it, actually. Because I find that if I compare a program with photoshop, I get tired of trying to learn a new way of working/Gui, and just go back to photoshop telling myself the program I tried is no good. That's not fair. It's just that we're too lazy or uncomfortable with changing our habits.
