What a load of crap! Linux might be better than Windows, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get viruses or spyware. Whatever OS you have, you're gonna run virus and spy/adware checkers occasionally - unless your a complete moron that is.

Anyone here used WordPress for a blog? I'm interested in seeing the code that people have used for the templates - I'm not really sure how to put it all together. Actually a hell of a lot of games are being released on Linux now, way before the Mac versions come out. Still, the majority I suppose run only on Windows.

LOL Happens to me all the time. I always have a go at doing some kind of logo/header image, and if that turns out all right I might carry on. I never do a whole layout in PS or whatever though - I can never seem to get it to the right scale for some reason. I'm working on something at the mo, which I think looks alright - I'll put it up when I finish it.

Do any of you guys have a particular process you go through when designing a site? I always find it really hard to get started on a site, and often have to have 4 or 5 gos before I get it right. Is there a "perfect formula" out there for getting your designs right every time?

bbEdit looks brilliant. But I'm on a Windows machine. Bugger.For my graphics I mostly use PSP7, although I'm seriously thinking about getting PhotoShop - even if it's just an older version of eBay. I'm pretty crap at graphics though, and I always find it really hard thinking of an original colour scheme and "look" for my site.

I get "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" as well. I suppose this could be quite funny for sending prank emails to mates, but in reality, I think this kind of thing is illegal. Some fraudsters use stuff like this to send emails to people pretending to be from their bank, and then ask for their password. I personally know someone that this happened to - the email and the site they linked too was so convincing that even the bank's site managers/designers were fooled by it.

How do you mean PHP applications? Do you mean like the preinstalled phpBB, iPei guestbook etc.? If you want to install those, you go to something like "Preinstalled Scripts".

If you don't want to host your own, Runboard was very useful for me before I got proper hosting.
