Cpanel Disc Quota Viewer Reports Incorrectly

ok, this is really strange because I deleted a folder with tonnes of stuff in it because I don't want it. The folder's name is wikipediaforums-cjb-net, but it's still on the disc viewer and my space allocation counter is still 29 MB before and after I deleted it and the folder and files are 5 MB big.

Please help!

How did you delete the folder? Through the cpanel or with your ftp program (the log went too far up in your second screenshot, so I wasn't sure.)? And did you mean that before your deleted it, your folder was 29 mb, but after you deleted it, it became 5 mb? There's a missing comma/full stop in your last sentence that's confusing me.

This thread tells me that the disk quota etc. isn't updated every minute, but only every few hours. Also, I saw on your screenshot the nice button saying "Clear File Usage Cache", ever tried pressing it?
As long as the folder is gone and you can upload new stuff for it, you shouldn't worry in my eyes.

They probably did not refresh the cache so they are reading the cache statistics. ruben caught it right quick. The only real reason for having the ability to refresh or clear the cache would be when you do in fact remove some files as they did, and the cache will eventually update (I suppose, it depends on the software) but it wouldn't hurt to at least try refreshing the cache then see what the result is.

I had this problem on another site, I deleted one half of my files, and I was still exceeding my quotas, even after several monthes. So, sometimes, when you remove files, they don't disappear from your quota.I don't know if Xisto has this problem, because I never exceeded my space quota yet.

to add to above:do not know if this is true or not, but when you delete through cpanel, the files gets to .trash or something, maybe they still use the space ? for years I don't need anything more from cpanel just some stuff

Damn Quatrux you were faster than me, that just came to my head (I deleted a file with the file-manager two weeks ago..).I checked on it and yes: There is a folder on the root level of your user account, which goes by the name of: ".trash" (without quotes).All files that are deleted using the Cpanel File Manager end up there.In the File manager there is always a green recycle bin icon, saying "trash". Clicking it will empty the trash.But you deleted using FTP as far as I figured, so it's probably the cache thing. Just trying to make this problem solved completely so that we can redirect to this later.
