New Site Xenon Hack

I've just made my new site Xenon Hack. It is news and informatio about audio and gaming hacks as well as other related subjects. Please visit it here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The design at the minute isn't the final design and i might make a couple of changes in the next few days to make it better and more unique to my site. Looks like another wordpress site to me, so if I were to credit the code I'd be crediting wordpress's code not yours. Perhaps a graphical banner instead of the text link at the top or alternatively set it so that so the header text is vertically aligned in the centre aswell as having it aligned horizontally.Just a question, if you haven't finished the site yet why are you putting it up for review?

i've put it up for review to see what would be good changes to make to the design. What do you think i should change about the design or the site and how could i make it better?

yes, it is a wordpress. Most of the wordpress sites look more or less the same in design and there's nothing much you can do about. Wordpress site structure is not bad at all, it looks good - the only problem is it looks too common since thousands of sites are using the same theme with little modification.

The site looks clean and good. Google adsense increases its value...

The colors are nice and calming, but unless the actual layout is your own, I'm not sure what to comment on. Perhaps your sentence structure and grammar (a rare thing in these forums)?

I would recommend creating a new header image just because yours is quite boring and doesnt draw any attention to the name of site. Also, i like the colors but the layout is not very unique and i would say boring. Spice it up and make it your own and people will love your site

Not true - there's loads you can do about it. It just depends on what your skills are like. My Xisto site is powered by Wordpress and I don't think it looks like a standard WP site.

I think this is along the lines of people who scream and shout about a new super cool site they have made. When you go and look its just a PHP Nuke site or something like it with a nifty skin. I'm sorry but that's not web design in my opinion, it's just content design/management.My 2 cents worth.

i definetly plan on doing that in the next few days becuase i think that the current header is quite boring, i might also play around with colours a bit and see if i can make the design fit the theme more

Well, I'm not a professional in webdesign so I can't be critical..for me it's a very nice site, I have only one suggestion maybe.For me, a website is something personally, I wanna say that maybe you need to do something with your site that would give a bit of your personality to it..if you understand me..maybe some banner,that you create,maybe a template that you made..So with one word,just a little bit your personality.. But,I like it...

If you made that template all by yourself, then its ok. But if you just put somebody else's work then it is not that cool. I personally hate sites created by using other people templates. If you are just starting rather look at the site you like and try to "copy" it, but mix with your style. Don make exact copies. If you are using CMS (Mambo, PHP-Nuke etc) you can easely create templates (you should know how to use photoshop or similar software, and how to code HTML and CSS).

i didn't make the template myself, but thats because if i did make myself a template i'd find it very hard to intergrate it into Wordpress, i am going to mess about with the colours soon but in the meantime i'm just going to stick with this design as i like it

im not very familiar to build websites, but i think you sould put more images in your page, good luck.
