I Need A More Advanced Screenshot Piece Of Software

Recommended Posts

Pressing Alt-PrintScreen in Windows for taking a quick screenshot of the visible portion of a web page works just fine, but when you want to capture the entire height and save an image of what exists both above and below the fold, you need a dedicated tool.I need a free piece of software for the Windows enviroment that does this kind of job. I'm aware that such software exists for the Mac - Paparazzi! (http://derailer.org/paparazzi/).

I currently use snagit from techsmith i think it is. It's a pretty good screenshot program that can also be used to take video and also scrolling web pages. It comes with a nice screenshot editor that has plenty of functions for putting finishing touches on your shots. It also works in directx games and you can capture any region of the screen, you can even convert text in images to editable text.Works wondersForgot the link though, just search google for 'snagit'-HellFire

I remember when we had to create inhouse and public training material we used a program called Camtasia Studio or something along that name. I don't know what the current version is but i was better than doing the [Print Screen] or the [Alt + Print Screen]. You should see if you can find it when you have time and give the demo a try. I just might work.Levimage

I second SnagIt's software and use both the screenshot capture and video capture feature. This is not a free program though. You can get the trial program at:
https://www.techsmith.com/

If you like it, I highly recommend buying it.

You can actually use SngaIt for FREE. Its not a trial program. Just not a full feature one. Anyone if want, go to

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

That is for version SnagIt 7.2.5. So the software you can download at

http://www.oldapps.com/download.php?oldappsid=SnagIt725.exe

Hope this help
Cheers

Is there something I don't know about capturing screenshots that Photoshop can't handle? Basically, I do the screenshot, then open up Photoshop, create new and then just paste. It comes in on 800 x 600 which is my default resolution for the time being. I know it would get pixelated if you need to expand it... but I don't see why you couldn't just resize it in Photoshop.... if you have Photoshop of course.I don't have all the info needed for this post maybe, but I know that that is what I do when I do screenshots.... - skedad -
