delivi 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 (edited) Microsoft Live Drive, is the Online Storage Service of Microsoft that will enable users to store their preferences Online and can access it from any where else. This service is not yet releases, it is in testing for a long time. Microsoft is planning to integrate it's next OS with this Service to maximize user functionality. FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Is this really a Microsoft product?I really doubt it because it would have Copyright Microsoft on it. Also there is absolutely no correlation between Microsoft and this website (no Microsoft logo, the word Microsoft isn't even on there). That website is badly designed and there is not much to it.If it was really a Microsoft product, it would probably be https://onedrive.live.com/
.:Brian:. 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I am also going to have to say that this is definitely not a microsoft product. You can tell this by a number of things....A) as mentioned above. No microsoft logo, or copyright information on the pages. Š Copyright 2006 LiveDriveThat is not microsoft!!! Look at the job positions availablehttp://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/I highly doubt that microsoft would be in need of Lead developers, or head of finance....C) Look at the about livedriveLivedrive, The Internet Hard-drive, is funded and founded by Andrew Michael, the founder of Fasthosts Internet Limited, the UK's market leading web-hosting company. Andrew is a prolific entrepreneur with a variety of business interests. He has extensive experience in the technology industry, having previously founded Fasthosts, which was acquired in 2006 by United Internet for over $100m.As you can see this is not a microsoft service.... SilverFox1405241541 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Therefore it could be a dangerous scam, stay away! Where did you get the idea it was Microsoft? I do't see any link to them other than the word "Live" which I don't think is enough to say its Microsoft.
xboxrulz1405241485 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 Doesn't even look remotely like a Microsoft website. I don't see how the topic starter got the idea that it's a Microsoft product. If it's a Live website by Microsoft it will carry this logo: xboxrulz
FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2007 I don't even know if anyone uses this. I mean the site is pretty blank except for 1 link. For a website, that is pretty dumpy. It has really bad structure and design also. For online storage I recommend FTP drives or Avant Online Storage.
Atomic0 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2007 This website is not associated with Microsoft Corporationg at all. According to WHOIS data publicly available, livedrive.com is registered to a company by the name of LifeDrive Ltd.For online file storage I suggest Box.net, where you can get a Basic account for free with 1GB storage and unlimited bandwidth for those files. It has a simple Web interface for uploading your files.Link:https://www.box.com/
delivi 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 I'm sorry for giving a wrong link, but the information that I've shared is genuine and believable. I've removed it.Here are a few reliable sources,http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/http://news.a.com.com/After reading so many articles about Windows Live Drive, I started searching for the service website and found that link. But failed to check the authenticity. That site is owned by a person in England, http://whois.domaintools.com/livedrive.com
yordan 10 Report post Posted March 25, 2007 (edited) For online file storage I suggest Box.net, where you can get a Basic account for free with 1GB storage and unlimited bandwidth for those files. It has a simple Web interface for uploading your files.Link:https://www.box.com/I like the "shared folder" version. And I really love the option "embed this folder in your website, which gives you a html line you add a clickable widget on your webpage, which gives ou access to your shared folder with a "preview or download" button.I lide rather less the "mail" version. Seems that, for sendint mails containing a link to a file, box.net needs each guy you want to share your files with, to be registered at box.net. I would prefer sharing files without forcing people to register to somewhere. Edited March 25, 2007 by yordan (see edit history)
iGuest 3 Report post Posted May 27, 2010 Both Microsoft and Google going into thisMicrosoft Live DriveWith both Microsoft and Google going after the online storage business, box.Net, adrive.Com and the rest will have some major competition. Knowing how Google likes to put their own products on top of search results, they'll probably start promoting their own online storage product very soon. -reply by Terry
