Index Page Where do I put it?

I created my hosting account and uploaded some files including the index but I cant seem to view my site on the web.

its index.html It is only a HTML page, no PHP or java.I uploaded in the main directory I think!

Please make sure it is in the public_html folder otherwise it will not work.

or www folder (which is simply an alias of the public_html).If it was uploaded to the account root folder, it will, not be accessible from the web. You should be able to move it between folders from your cpanel, too.
