Jonnyabc 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 I guess the title pretty much describes the problem...you've got a spelling issue. Whether or not this post goes here anyways, I thought I mention that you ought to change the name!

jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 And when are you "yanks" going to start spelling 'colour' correctly?
deadmad7 4 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 And when are you "yanks" going to start spelling 'colour' correctly? Actually, the American spelling of 'Color' and 'Organizations' make more sense than the European and Asian ones. Do you say colˇor OR colˇour?
BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 Gray or Grey... the list goes on and on and on...Although the forum is in English, sometimes it's in Queen's English. And the board is open to those who can communicate in English (either form).OpaQue is using Queen's English and I use the other. Nothing wrong with that except we don't spell the same all the time. In matter of fact, if it wasn't for spell checker I would never spell it right all the time.
Zagubadu? 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 I think which word wins the how do you spell it war is the one that makes the most sense. See whens the last time you said Orga Nih sations. Its said with mostly a Z not an S so the other one wins. Some of them are kind of hard like Grey or Gray. I find my self spelling them both ways from time to time because the both make sense. Oh yea and Colour -.- seriously just don't go there. Its under lined in red on the spell checker so its just wrong! Color there that's better no red lines. Spudd 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Come on guys, we have too few excuses to use the letter 'Z' as it is, spell it the American way. I can't help but read "organisations" as organ-i-say-shuns... :DWell, it's not really a big deal, I guess...

Quatrux 4 Report post Posted February 17, 2010 Well, it was always strange for me, that American English is different from the English we learn in school and etc. It's the same with colour/color, favourite/favorite, gray/grey it seems alright, but when taking the word organisation, I always prefer the to use the z instead s, maybe because in my country language this word is also spelled with z ;] The reasons are simple, because of different dictionaries in the past, here is a quite nice reading on wikipedia: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 And when are you "yanks" going to start spelling 'colour' correctly? NEVER!!However, lets be honest about the war of the English, does it really matter how its spelled, obviously someone did it on purpose just to truely seperate the former colonies from English rule. I only can imagine what UK spelling test is like , you get marked wrong even though the word is spelled right.
Gammmae105 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Lol, I really can't see how "organisations" is not correct spelling. When you say "is", you pronounce "izz" and when you say organisations, you pronounce is "organ-izz-ayshens", same as "organizations". America just took the next step and put a "z" in place of the "s", although we know that "organisations" is truly the correct spelling, because of the "is" and "iz" scenario. Just saying. =P
