How To Bypass/unblock Websites At Work And At School!

Recommended Posts

Live CDS also give you access to the C drive on windows etc.. and ignore all local privileges and sometimes bypass server permissions too. We used this in college to see what would happen and we were given access to all shared folders including the home directories stored on the servers.Still, it wouldnt give you internet access where i work :)

Well I can access our whole city's schools network, all I need is a password to access them which I don't have. And access to drive C is kinda useless... And gosh your college is screwed up if you can access everything without password! wtf?!

Don't you have internet there where you work? :D

The password is the point., so you *dont* have access to the network due to the password permissions system. The college was infinitely stupid.Where i work we do have the internet, we have two proxies through which all traffic is routed via DMZ. Think red orange green. Red is the internet connection, green is our internal network and orange is our intranet. all internet traffic has to come through one of our two, internal, proxies, if it doesnt then there is simply no internet access at all. So replacing the browser's proxy IP has no effect other than to completely deny access, unless of course you put in our special, unfiltered IP which only us 3 techs know.

Yea I have heard that and it worked for a while at my school. But then this year they got smart and fixed it. So now its back to doing school work again. :)

I prefer proxies over using a secure http connection. For one simple reason, it doesn't always work. In fact, it almost seems to never work for me.Proxies that aren't blocked, though, always work.

Proxies are indeed the easiest and most reliable method, however you first need to find a proxy site that isnt blocked which isnt always easy and it doesnt get rid of the logging that takes place so it can easily be seen that you are using a proxy. The only real way to block the logging is to set a proxy IP in the browser settings or disable the logging program if it is installed locally. Not all proxies offer services like webmail login, flash content etc... for free, they make you pay to get that stuff so its not perfect.

Please take into consideration that in some schools this may lead to action by your school. My last school this breached the school's rule and some where excluded from school for some months.

Found this out from one of the kids at the school.(name of game) followed by .swf in a google search bar.(Example)The worlds hardest game .swf When you do that you will see a website that has next to it.Some sites have an index of /swf where you can find millions of games you can play.

Well, I , like most people have tried going to facebook, youtube, etc. at work (in my case school) and noticed that some popular sites where blocked! I tired using proxys but they mostly did not work , or were too slow! some even had viruses. My buddy told me a way which there is no need to have proxy to bypass a site. Here is that method -

Open the Browser (Firefox)

Go to the site you wish to go (Hulu.com)

When it says that you cannot go there and that it is restricted

Go to the address bar and add a 's' after the http

So it should look like this : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

And TADA your site should would, well i found that some sites dont =(

What this does is that it opens a secure http (and if you hadn't figured it out already , yes, thats what the 's' stands for) and the computer MOST OF THE TIME doesn't block https or isn't programmed to =)

Hope it works for you Posted Image

Sorry friend but in my case https:// method is not working and proxy sites are very slow. So finally I am using a VPN software(Hotspot Shield), it is fast, reliable and bypass all restrictions. One more thing you can try to access blocked content via IP address of the blocked website as sometimes network admin blocks only the website name not IP(Hope it works). If you want to download VPN then you should visit >> http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Had to laugh reading through some of these posts. I also tried many methods of bypassing our web filter at school and college. This method does not always work on most popular websites such as Facebook and YouTube. This method has been around for a long time now and I think filtering companies are starting to get it sorted but I don't know if there is much point going out their way to fix this as it only works on minor sites. The reason people tend to try bypass this filtering system is because of the simple theory: people want what they can't have. I have an education but I found myself spending more time trying to get into these blocked sites then actually doing my work. I ended up making my own proxies. Good luck :)
