How Long Does It Take For Google To Index Your Website?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, this one's right. If I remember right Google themselves even said meta tags have nothing to do with your inclusion/where you rank in their system. They said it is content only. But I'm wondering if this is just something they're saying to throw people off...

I was talking about meta keywords. Meta description is still quite important, as mine shows up right in my Google result.
And for all you wondering, it doesn't matter very much if your site gets indexed in 3 hours or 3 days. It matters when they get shown in results.

DependsHow Long Does It Take For Google To Index Your Website?

I have learned with http://www.anchalaska.com/ that when you post a post to go to google and do for instance a site:yourdomain.Com and wait for google to index.. More mature sites that have been setup and NOT messed with, this can happen rather fast in minutes, sometimes as low as 3 minutes. Then what I like to do is then do a search for the title of the post and see where it is in google. One site that indexes within minutes and results show up when searched instantly is http://www.surfersgoldcoast.com/ .. Now with yahoo and bing, who knows, but I have heard that posts with technorati  tags help pages to rank well in yahoo! hope this helps!

Google can index your site quickly, you just need to give it more sources pointing to you so that it can send bot to your site. Crawlers look for multiple sources in order to get more exposure to your site. New sites if not promoted or get backlinked then they hardly get indexed. Some domains which offer blogging service can let you get index faster. for example, blogger or orable and wordpress.com sites but you need to give more links to site in order to let it index.

@Jason, Xisto is nofollow so linkspamming will not work

It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for Google to index your site. Yahoo! might index it in 1 to 3 weeks. In order to improve your site's placement in the search results, you should list your site in some directories. Obviously you can pay to be listed in internet phone directories and pay extra to include your URL, but it's cheaper to find free directories. Here's a list:

I agree. I have created a blog in wordpress and wrote some articles and then submit to google, yahoo, ask, bing and some search engines. Besides, I have list it in many directories and submit it to social bookmarks, like digg. And it takes one week for google to index my blog, but now only one page I submited :P . So I need to go ahead. I will submit my blog to some indexed blog sites in the near furture.

In order to get it indexed quickly you need to get some backlinks for your site.Other thank backlinks there are some few tricks to quickly get indexed by search engines. Ask other bloggers to link to you from their blog post and write some articles on article directory to link to your blog. This will force search engine crawlers to find your site regularly and index it. More links to the blog posts from other site, faster they'll get indexed.

Don't forget to use linkwheels if you wish to increase more backlinks to your site. Don't spam too much links from other blogs to your site. Link to various other blog post and not just one post. This will ensure that to SE crawlers you're not spamming or link farming.
