cmorganrhodes 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2007 I have been searching and searching the internet for a program that will allow me to crop irregularly or by free hand. I have found many programs that are well built that allow me to edit all my photos after I scan them into the computer but I simply cannot find any program that is free that allows me to freehand crop instead of just a square or a circle. If anyone knows a program that I can use that will allow me to do so please respond with help please. Thanks.

linekill 1 Report post Posted September 14, 2007 I would also recommend The Gimp. It works great and the best part is that it's free! There are also good tutorials for it and has support equal to that of Photoshop.
Chocolat_blonde 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 I use photoshop but if you want a free one, I would say GIMP but it is quite complicated, there are also some online editors.
soleimanian 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 if you need a program to corp scaned pictures, you can use your built in scaner program in your scaner cd driver. these programs have basic picture editor, let you corp, resize your scaned pictures.
fffanatics 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 The best free software to professionally edit pictures is the GIMP. It is very similar to photoshop in what it can do but does most of the effects in different ways. Personally, i like photoshop better but it has been what i have been using for a long time. ZaM0 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 Yes, I would recommend the GIMP too, I have never used it, couse it's runtime application isn't compatible with few .dlls on my system. I have heard a lots of good words about it, well, who could say something bad, when it is called the alternative of Photoshop
hippiman 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) GIMP is the best one out there. I only had it for a while, but it's definitely the best free one. It can do pretty much anything photoShop can. I think Photoshop just has some more filters and a better UI, and maybe a few more options, but GIMP can still do it all, if you can figure it out. And it's interface isn't really that bad, it's just that photShop's is better, because people were getting paid a LOT to make it. keego 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 You can use photoshop to do it, all you need to do is use the freehand selection tool, go around the image you want. then go to SELECT > INVERSE SELECTION .. and press delete so the outer of the image dissapears. its quite simple... well there are alot of "free photoshops" out there. But thats up to you .Or download a trial and try it out see which one you like to use better .

bluedragon 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 I think Adobe (Macromedia) Fireworks has the best free-hand selection tool. I believe it was the first one to incorporate this tool.Do try it and see for yourself
dare13 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Most of image editing programs have cropping functions; even freehand tool is quite often in free programs.Depending on why you crop images, do you use layers or effects you use program. Most best free one is Gimp; almost as same as Photoshop, and its free.
