Bkag 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 That is really nice, but my suggestions / constructive criticisms are;The banner, its nice, but it kinda doesn't "mesh" with the site, it looks like it is just pasted over the page, if you understand what i mean :blink:I would widen the "News" "Recent tutorials" and "Affialiates" column so that it is almost snug with the google ads.One other thing is that I would correct the spelling of Affialiates to affiliates (I assume that is what it is supposed to be). Other than that, it is a very very good site
rvalkass 5 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 The banner does look slightly odd. It doesn't fit with the rest of the page design, the lighter blue and orange. I also agree that the Google ads don't need half the width of the page, and perhaps you could find a smaller version of that image at the bottom of the Google ads column, to shrink it further. The striped background could be extended to the left and right hand edges of the page, to cover the white background. The image required wouldn't be too large and could just be repeated over and over. Bkag, KuBi has got his spelling correct. Affiliates has a second 'i' in it. Affilates is not a word. electriic ink 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 I don't think that the banner looks queer. It stands out in a good way. Looking at your page with Adblock on, there is an awful lot of space wasted where Google ads are meant to be and I can't believe that they take up all that space; even if they do, you should reduce them (I'm not turning Adblock off to look at a few ads). And, yes, the spelling of Affiliates [not affialiates] does need correcting. Finally, the text content doesn't have any associated formatting (specification of colour, font and size) and it lets down the overall design. However, other parts of the design look great. 9/
Bkag 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2006 Bkag, KuBi has got his spelling correct. Affiliates has a second 'i' in it. Affilates is not a word. I wrote affiliates, he has got aflialiates And as electriic ink said, i think the text could be improved somewhat

TeeCee06 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 It looks alright. I think it will look a lot better when you have more content to look through but its a decent start. I woud suggest having a little bit more creative links on the left side of the main page something like some buttons that say Home, Forums, Downloads, Tutorials just to give it a little more color and creativity. lindsaybernsen 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 I'd switch the serif font, Times New Roman, to something sans-serif like Arial. It'll look a lot cleaner that way. I don't like the giant bar that goes right under the header, and you could probably liven the side menu up a little bit. For the recent posts thingy, employ some padding-left to make sure the text doesn't hit the side of the site. I'd also try to make the posts thing more prominent seeing as your site is pretty much a giant forum. And lastly, bring some more color into your text! You use so much blue everywhere else, but not in your headers or the main text. Not too bad 4/
FLaKes 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2006 There is this bar righ after the header that doesnt seem to fit in the design of the webpage. The header image looks cool also, but I kind of feel as if the gradient turns white rather quickly, maybe you should expand it a bit more. And the dark blue bar, I think it would look better if it was a bit lighter in color, or maybe try it out with a silver to light gray gradient. I dont know, its just my opinion.
