Yes you are right after Kumble's retirement it will definetly be Dhoni, who will become captain in Tests too.Mishra has to wait till the big guy "Kumble" decides to retire. His superb performance was not enough to remove Kumble from the playing 11 for Kotla. If we see history we will find Kumble is very successful there. It will be interesting to see what will be the team composition for Kotla.Aussies will try to come back but Kolta might be a hard nut to crack. And India will try to seal the trophy in Kotla, there lucky ground, itself. Also after Gilly's comment and the heated arguments and gestures which has started in Mohali it will be an action packed show in Kotla.

Kotla is very lucky place for Kumble......No one can forget his 10/74 in one innings against Pakistan at Kotla statdium. And you know, he had taken 55 wickets at that stadium. So, we couldn't drop him at Kotla...Mishra has a bright future....he just have to wait... I think 2 spinners are enough for this test. Because Australians are facing more problem with our pace bowlers than spinners. And of course....as per pitch curator, the pitch will be heaven for spinners....But two world class spinners are already in our team....and Sehwag is a part time spinner....so no need for another spinnner. May be batsman is preferable.Definitely more entertainment for us at Kotla....

Kotla seems to be a batsmen paradise. And also with injured Kumble India spinning attack is lacking spearhead. Even though Sehwag had done well to take 3 wickets, but still for taking full advantage of fouth's day pitch we need Kumble.Aussies have played very well under pressure and are on good position now. If tomorrow in first session Indians are unable to take 4-5 wickets then this match is heading for a draw. So lets see what is in store for us.As far as Ghambhir case is concerned, Indians have to try to keep there cool. These young bloods are loosing temper, they have to clam there nerves.

Yes...Kotla is batsmen paradise and hell for bowlers. Our batsman did very well job and the Aussies response to our challenge is also very good. They are fighting back very well. Kumble should get his form immediately. Sehwag did very well, but other end of bowling is not effective. He is just a part time spinner. He needs support from full time bowlers. I think the test match will be a draw. Because we have only two days left. And still Aussies is playing. We have to take 16 wickets (6 first innings + 10 second innings) to win. And we still have to bat to give some target to them as its a batting pitch. So, the result of the test is almost impossible. We can see the result only if our bowlers do worders  And I agree with Gambhir issue. Our youngsters are taking everything very serious. It won't do any good to our team in the future.

Well Indian cricket team is very unpredictable....

as bhavesh said ...India always loses the final ...the trend has continued now for years...I don't know whether this is going to end or not...well ....Kotla seems to be a batsmen field..hopefully this time India scores good enough to win the match not to draw it..

But this time ...its quite likely that India would win the series ...as India has won one match...one is drawn...this one seems to be going to India's way with two Indian batsmen scoring double hundreds...

great batting....gambhir and laxman...hopefully we win this one..then we win the series the fourth one will not matter...

hoping for best...I want India to beat Aussies..Best of luck ...team India.

Sorry SaNJ, kotla pitch is too hard to bring out any wicket. Aussies have also played a patience inning. This test is heading for a draw and only culprit of the match is the pitch curator for making this dead pitch. No assistance for bowlers.Kumble had again shown courage by bowling with 11 stitches in his hand and had also taken a catch, hats off to you.

As expected one more draw match. Probably the last days play will not be that much interesting. Our team is under pressure now. Our worst fielding is one of the reason for this. Our country dominated the match three days and now in defence. This is the speciality of our team. No one can predict our teams play. At last Kumble back into the action and took 3 wickets. But it was too late. Already Australians was in a safe situation. But Sehwag did his job very well and took 5 wickets. And became the 5th player(?) who had a triple century and took 5 wickets in an innings. Congrats to sehwag.Today is the last day. Now its our batsmen's turn again. We had already lost 2 wickets and a very little lead. If everything goes as usual we will see a less interesting draw match. And poor curator, what can he do? He told that he wanted to make the pitch a result oriented and left some grass on it. But the head curator of bcci had involved in last minute, removed all the grass on pitch and made this worst pitch.Whomever did it, the result is a draw match. It only helped our batsmen to create or break some personal records.

As an Aussie through and through I am very happy with the turnaround we had during Day 3 and 4. It was the never give up attitude and if anything took its toll on India.Eww to Kumble and his finger, but congrats on a great career. 600+ Wickets, cant get any better than that!

Team India Anil Kumble announced his retirement after the third test against Australia, quitting the game at his favourite Ferozshah Kotla ground. The 38-year-old is test cricket's third-highest test wickettaker with 619 wickets, trailing only Srilankan spinner Muttiah Murlitharan and Australia's retired Shane Warne.Kumble had suffered a deep cut in his left little finger which needed 11 stiches during the match. The spin bowler has been the team's bowling talent for almost two decades, and the architect of India's dominance on slow pitches, relying more on subtle variation than sharp turn.He has also taken 337 wickets from 271 one-day internationals and has already quit the shorter form of the game. Wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the limited-overs captain and Kumble's deputy, is expected to take over the job.Kumble, who has played 132 tests, had been facing mounting pressure over his future and missed the second test against the Aussies in Mohali due to a shoulder injury. In 1999, Kumble became only the second bowler in test cricket to claim all 10 wickets in an innings, emulating England's Jim Laker at the same Ferozshah Kotla ground. Kumble's retirement comes after former skipper Saurav Ganguly announced the current Australia test series would be his last. The team's senior cricketers have come under increasing pressure with domestic media engaged in frenzied debate whether they should step aside to help blood younger players.

A draw match, just as everyone expected. India's play is OK today. Sachin, Laxmany and Ganguly played well. But the twist for today is Kumble's retirement. I think it may be a shocking news for everyone as no one expecting it now. I had just seen it in the news. He told that he is retiring due to his injury, and will not play in Nagpur test as well. India is losing a great bowler.I think he want to retire before the media and others start criticizing him. His decision will force other seniors to think about their retirement and we may see such surprises in the future also. Our pillars are falling one by one. Now our team is under real threat. No junior can fulfil our seniors absense. It will take long time for them. India had never faced this situation before, just like Australia. We are already seeing how weak Australia team now without seniors. India will face the same situation. Its really interesting how our team faces this problem. Lets wait and see...So Dhoni is the captain now. He will face the real pressure in future after all our seniors retirement. Because, now our seniors are carrying pressure on their shoulders. Now, if our team failed in a series, all media and critcs are start criticizing our seniors and their retirement. But once after their retirement, The captain will face all this criticism. ^_^ As far as I know, all our Captains till now (except Kapil Dev, I think) lost their form during their captaincy. So, Dhoni will be under pressure in the near future....just let us say all the best to him.Good bye Kumble, we're missing you... :D

After a dull high scoring drawn test match, today again Indians made 300+ on first day. This is the first test after Kumble's retirement and also Ganguly's last match. Ganguly will definately like to make this a memorable match by scoring a century. Tendulkar managed to get his 40th century after getting a couple of chances.Lets see what Indian batsman do tomorrow. If they manage to make 500+ runs then it would be difficult for Aussies to win and draw the series.

Huh....As you told, after a dull drawn match......India scored 311 and lost 5 wickets. Good score. And this is the day of Sachin Tendulkar. He played very well and scored his century. And 100 tests player, our Very Very Special Laxman also played well. But all are looking at Saurav Ganguly. This is the last test match for my all time favourite crickter. The Prince of Kolkata....Bengal Tiger will retire after this match. He too played well. I hope he will get a century here and make his fans like me happy. Our team will also try to give him sendoff with a victory. Our disappoint for today is the dismissal of Rahul. He continued his bad form. His duckout for first ball shows it. Hope he'll get back his form soon. Or he'll be in trouble....Since Ganguly and Kumble retired media will start pointing him. The next issue is bowling. Ball is turnig very well. Krejza took 3 wickets. We have to wait and see how our spinners do in the absense of Kumble. Mishra will have to prove that he is not a one match wonder. If everything goes fine, India will scores some big number and dominate with ball too. ....wait and see.... ^_^

Finally a day that both teams dominated. India dominated with bat first. Then suddenly Australia takes the contrlo of the match within a few minutes. And their bat dominated the complete afternoon session. Ganguly and Dhoni played really well. And mainly Gangluy, never felt any trouble and hit a couple of fours and sixes. Dhoni also played his stroke play. Their partnership made India to cross 400 mark. I thougt Ganguly will easily make his century. But Dhoni's fall turned the match. Immediately Ganguly dismissed with a catch. And our remaining batsmen played like visitors of the ground. Proved the cycle stand joke once again. This is a really luck day for Krejza. He took 8 wickets in his debut match. He'll never give a perfomance like this in his life. He took 3 wickets by giving 200 runs and next 5 wickets with 15 runs. Marvellous performance. He told yesterday that 3 wickets are more than enough for him. But he took a total of 8 wickets. He'll never forget this great experience. As the ball turning very well, I thought if a debut spinner bowled like this, our veteran spinners will show stars to Australians. But they showed us. They played really well. Our 4 spinners(2 fulltime +2 parttime) took only one wicket. Another one is runout. Of course its little difficult to turn a new ball. But our spinners did nothing at all. Hope our bowlers will show the real magic of spin tomorrow. ^_^

Never mind India played tactically this morning. Bowling on offside away making batsmen work hard for runs. But after getting Katich out, now they are back to target stumps. Till now 6 down, if India manages to get them all out today then it will be a good chance to go for a kill. Lets wait and watch.

Finally India dominated again. This time with ball. But what really interesting is that its not the spin show. Its a team play. All our bowlers worked hard and got wickets equally. Spinners took 5 wickets and pace bowlers 3 wickets and 2 badluck runouts for Australia. Good day for India. Only drawback for today is our fielding. Our players dropped a few catches. Katich's out was the turning point for Australia. He played really well. After his dismissal Australia lose wickets coninuously. Haddin and White fought back but not succeeded in taking their team to lead. Australia Allout for 355 runs. India is in 86 runs leading. Two days remaining in this test and ball is turning well. Definitely the ball will dominate the bat last two days. So, mostly we'll see the result for this match. Our chances to win depends on how our team will play tomorrow. Next two days play will be interesting. Lets wait and see who dominates tomorrow....
