Is Creating A Real Website A Very Difficult Job? Need Help!

Recommended Posts

For sure, if you want to create your own webpage by yourself, then u should apply to specialized college or courses. But also I agree with DarkPsycho that it's much easier to get some templates from websites which provide such service and after that all you need is to add your content. Also it's possible to get some templates for free, and then u'll have some stuff for practice...Realy, dude, it's to difficult to learn by yourself....dont waste ur time if you see that there's no progress.Good luck!

I have read all the tutorials, listened to countless advice about creating a webpage, tried to understand the very difficult alien language of HTML, tried everything for twenty-four hours and still I cannot make a webpage. I figure creating a real webpage is one of the hardest of things to do, this is why so many people go to the atrocious made easy myspace.com or pay other people to make a website for them. Seriously speaking, not to criticize anyone, but I find making a website the most frustating task I have ever had to undertake. I feel like I need to take up a one to two year course just to make a webpage. When I heard about how Xisto was the best webhost, I was astonished, they sure do have the best resources, but for a noob like me using those resources to create anything has become mission impossible.

You should do what I do :D. Download e107 and get a template and then BAM, from there its easy to manage and add to your website since it will be PHP/MSYQL. Im not to bright when it comes to pure html so i'd rather use a program to assist me and make it way easy to add/remove and customize the web page and e107 does exactly that. Even though some of their templates doesnt seem the best, i always make them better with adobe and give them my own little touch :)

Just go for practice instead of listening to countless advice. Creating a real website is not as difficult as you imagine that. If you have little experience about that. you can refer to some free templates and a basic book introducing HTML code. For duplicate practice, you will master it and then you can learn advanced operation like DIV+CSS. Also, you need to learn something about Photoshop and Flash. Just do it step by step.Do not wish you will master in days. Just do it and enjoy it.Too much "advice" may cause you feel "frustrated" :)

Sometimes the reason why most novice web designers say its difficult to make websites is that they try to make a big impact on their very first design. Instead of starting with a simple yet functional site, they try to make a flashy and technical design which is beyond their skill Try to start slow and then build your knowledge from there. First start with (x)html. Once you get to fully understand the basics and theories behind it, starting learning CSS. Then you can start learning the rest. As most have already pointed out, work with samples and templates. Simply reading ebooks and tutorials isn't enough. It's not a daunting task, it's a matter of planning ahead and knowing what you really want. If the website you're planning to make is just a one-time deal, then using free online website editors is enough. But if you want to make a career out of this, then you have to really commit yourself. You don't have to enroll to courses specialising in graphics and webdesign... Use google, knowledge at your fingertips.

Just like the guys said. Start with w3schools and have patience. I'm not new to programming but I'm rather new to the web stage... 6 months and in 3 months a managed to read a couple of good books and make my own site with a chat and photo uploading. (I'm still waiting for my 2 bucks so i can upload it on Xisto :) ) Just remember that no one was born knowing it all. We all learned in time. So don't call yourself a n00b... just get some coffee and start reading and trying ... and like i always say... start small and build your way up.Regards,Sebastian

 As i didnt know anything about websites (not that i do much now :P ), but i wanted to post some content for some people, i created one on freewebs.com. It lets you choose from lot of different templates and the only thing you have to do is add the content. Besides, it is absolutely free. The only downside is, that you will be bounded to this one service provider and have the url like nameofyourwebsite.freewebs.com.

For a beginner it would be better to use a wizard-type website generator like Namo.

It has a very easy interface where a beginner can visualize the creation of his website and use drag-drop to create and link his pages.

It cuts down the design process dramatically through the use of templates. The FTP tools also makes uploading and publishing the created website a very easy job for a beginner.

The down side of using that wizard type of applications is that the generated code is difficult to maintain, but a beginner wouldn't care about that specially for small projects.
