LeAnn Rimes My Angel 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 I use Firefox almost all the time, except when working with my Control Panel and FTP (I'm forced to use Internet Explorer since it accepts two seperate lines, one for the loging and the other for the password). At phpBB.com, people post about bug reports and security issues all the time. Everyone can find it here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ very skeptical when it comes to changing code, or even adding mods to forums since it can quite often compromise some level of security. Is there any way of knowing that this code is safe? I know it's short and very brief, but still... I'm just cautious.
jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Do you know if these tips and tricks also work with the Mozilla Browser? Firefox is based on the same code. There are some really good bits of similar code change instructions over in the forum at mozilla.org . However, I am quite content with the default values it comes with. For those of you who want tweaks to the Firefox or Mozilla Browser, check out the Mozillazine.

kashvet 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 here are some firefox tweaksfor all type 'about:config' in the address slotenable pipelining (by default the browser sends one request to a site by enabling pipelining it can send user defined number)]find 'network.http.pipelining' double click it so that value becomes 'true'find 'network.http.proxy.pipelining' double click to set the value to 'true'define number of request to sendfind 'network.http.pipelining.maxrequests' set value from 15 to 30 depending on your net speed (using abnormally high values for low speed connection might actually slow you down)turbo browsing tweakfind 'browser.turbo.enabled' double click to set its value to 'true'finally my last tweak is to reduce the rendering time, by default the browser waits for sometime before it shows the data it recieves...by this tweak you will reduce this time to zeroright click anywhaere and select new>integerwrite the following preference name 'nglayout.initialpaint.delay' and set its value to '0' (zero)See any change in the speed....Lemme know? Sirius 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2005 I just found out that firefox isn't as secure as was thought :)Once in a while, my virusscanner finds virus's, trojans, and the like in one of my firefox cache folders....I dunno why :)A bit off topic...Anyway posted because I was gonna try those tweaks
Sirius 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2005 Oooo. Now, I just have to wait a bit more, (I think) for page loads, but when it loads, it's all loaded :)A question...Would this also affect download speeds? If it does, I wouldn't need to use cheap, free download managers
dontmaimyourself 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2005 Its not that impressive but I can make Firefox inline autocomplete urls in the address bar, about:config and add a new boolean value called 'browser.urlbar.autoFill' and set it to true.
