truefusion 3 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Truefusion is now up for business. The site is all about tutorials. As i continue learning, i'll continue posting what i've learned on the website. You may request a tutorial by contacting me via the contact page on the site. For each request, i'll do research and post it on the site. If i am unable to make a tutorial from a request, i'll reply to the user giving him/her the reason on why i couldnt. So please, provide a valid email when contacting me to keep you updated on your request. If anyone thinks that one of the tutorials that's already there needs more info, or the info is false, please let me know.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
snlildude87 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Hmm, your sig still points to truefusion.vze.com. Might wanna fix that.First things first: No firefox support?? That just decreased your rating down a bit. Splash page? Why? Showing off skills? It's not really needed, and it's a little bit cliche. The layout itself is pretty good. Nice colors overall. The banner at the top seems a little blank. Try moving the words "TrueFusion" to the center, so that it won't look empty.I like how the Xisto button depresses once you mouse over. Perhaps consider using that effect for the navigation buttons. And the empty box next to "Webby" looks like a search box. Try moving the Google search box there instead.Lastly, don't tell me that this is a template that you got from somewhere else... Copyright Š Owner of this site. That's why I think that you did not make this.Anyway, the layout itself is pretty good, but since it only works in Internet Explorer, I'll give it a 2.9/
truefusion 3 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Hmm, your sig still points to truefusion.vze.com. Might wanna fix that. Most of my friends use that url for my site, but it still goes to my site hosted on this host.First things first: No firefox support?? That just decreased your rating down a bit. Lol, yea, but firefox doesnt support css that microsoft came up with (or at least i think they dont O_o). Which i find very useful.Splash page? Why? Showing off skills? It's not really needed, and it's a little bit cliche.xD Best to show off hard work . That alone took a few hours to get it all right. The layout itself is pretty good. Nice colors overall. Try moving the words "TrueFusion" to the center, so that it won't look empty.I wasnt going for anything big, more of 28-56k friendly. ;DI like how the Xisto button depresses once you mouse over. Perhaps consider using that effect for the navigation buttons.Er, i did use it for navigation O_o. Only modified it a bit.And the empty box next to "Webby" looks like a search box. electriic ink 1 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Let's go through the good and bad points about the page... Positives GraphicsI like the graphics on this site and they're fast to load which is a combination which is not achieved on many sites The ButtonsWhen you put your mouseover the Xisto button it moves down. That's a great effect, make all your buttons do that. Well, I think that's it for now. Going onto the negatives... Negatives Splash PageIf there's one thing I can't see the point of in designing and that's having a splash page. What's the point in clicking two links to get to your site? ShoutboxI don't mind shoutboxes but your's seems misplaced. It looks too much like it's there to fill up the space. It belongs on the right-hand side of the page. Google SearchSame as the shoutbox except it belongs right at the bottom. Navigational ButtonsWhen you click on your site's navigational buttons and the submenu comes up: It comes up in a funny place. I personally think that the menu should come up under the buttons instead of the left columnIt may be my eyes but I find it really hard to read the text. Don't make it bold
Becca 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 The splash page doesn't suit the whole theme. Sure.. it is in FLASH and it shows you can USE it.. but wtf..?The shoutbox is misplace should be somewhere neater or should be wider.Cool, good tutorials. Not much content but what's there is good. The layout is really good except I think the green scrollbar is a bit dodgy, even though the color is used in the theme it still bolds itself out and makes it look "lonely" Nothing bad about your site excet it looks half empty...or half full either way.Because it doesn't work in firefox... and I had to pull myself to use ie to go on the site... i give it 3/5 oh and it also froze my computer because of bloody ie and all it's sppyware or whatever it has. snlildude87 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 [1]Most of my friends use that url for my site, but it still goes to my site hosted on this host. [2]Lol, yea, but firefox doesnt support css that microsoft came up with (or at least i think they dont O_o). Which i find very useful. [3]xD Best to show off hard work . [6]Hmm, good idea, only the google logo wont fit. o_o [7]O_o I made it, i just dont feel like putting my actual name on their. So i put owner of site, instead. [8]Lol, what would have it been if it did support firefox? xD 162247[/snapback] [1]And are most of friends here at Xisto? I don't care whether you delete the vze account or not. I was just telling you to change the link in your sig. When someone here clicks on your sig, it goes to truefusion.vze.com instead of truefusion.trap17.com. Got it? [2]What kind of CSS are you talking about? Firefox is very good at rendering CSS. Are you talking about the amateurish scrollbars? If you are, then it's a pretty lame to restrict access to only one browser because you want everyone to see the scrollbars. How about this? Leave the scrollbar code there, and if one is on Firefox, then they can't see it, and they're missing out. [3]How about show off the hard work some place else? You could make a flash banner instead. Replace with a Flash one instead. [4]And it loaded very fast. Very good. [5]Er, the buttons "SITE", "MEDIA", "I.ACTIVE", and "WEBBY" do not depress at all when you mouse over them. Mouse over the GET Xisto button. See how it moves like that? Now mouse over "SITE" or "MEDIA". You don't get the same effect. [6]Then change the code. Google gave you a code. You can modify it anyway you want. I modified mine: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ [7]Okay, then put your name on it if you want to prevent rippers from stealing your layout. Otherwise, leave it the way it is. [8]4/
ArcaneSpirit 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 I'm not sure what's up, but after entering the main part of your website, none of your images are visible. They are all broken images instead of what should be there, with the exception of the Xisto button you have on the left. That is the only image I can actually see. I don't know if that's just a problem on my side or if you changed something recently and it messed it up, but I just thought I'd let you know anyhow. If it's not my side that's at fault, I'll check again later and give you my input on your website, until then I will keep my opinion to myself. TimothyA 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 Denying firefox access... one of the most horribly things you could ever do. Second, why design for IE if FF is taking over the market? Third, design for FF and after that you try to apply hacks for IE. Fourth, fix the shoutbox so it doesn't shows the horizontal scrollbars on default. Fifth, who is Owner?. The google ads could be placed in the middle of that sidebar to make it look a little bit more perfect....Design: 8.5/10Code: 5/10 - Make it work with FF and I'll give a 9/
Tyssen 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 You seem to be using Firefox. I am sorry, but i want all features of my website to be viewed. These features are not supported by Firefox. Please switch over to Internet Explorer, and try again. If you're worried about security, you have nothing to fear. This website is 100% spyware free. All coding and activex objects were created by me. Besides, i am more worried about you doing damage to my site.Site only compatible with Internet Explorer. I give you a 0/10 - I'm not even gonna bother with a site that denies me the use of my favourite browser, and don't be thinking that I'm in a minority to think that way. ArcaneSpirit 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 I would have to agree that blocking any specific browser from accessing your website is going to drop your sites reputation drastically! A lot of people are switching over to Firefox browsers because of the security problems related with using IE (Internet Explorer). To deny access to just one specific browser is going to hurt your hit count to the point that, I'm sure, you will probably rethink blocking Firefox. I personally use MSN Explorer Premium, but I used to use Firefox, and still do on occasion. You're only going to hurt your own sites rating by blocking browser access. As for your site, as I said before, your images are not loading in my browser. I don't know why this is, but do to the fact that I can't even see your graphics and you have blocked one of my favorite browsers I will have to give you 2/10 rating. My suggestion: Fix the images on your website, and make your site available to the entire world wide web and all browsers that access it. Later, A

snlildude87 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Now that it finally supports Firefox, I'll rate it according to what I see:The banner doesn't work. The navigation is unique, but it totally screws up the site layout when you click on it. Also, Google will have a hard time indexing your site since the hyperlinks on the navigation is "javascript:void(0);". Why not just make a normal normal links? The tutorials are good, but they could be improved. For example, you could add some screenshots or preview image for the Photoshop tutorials. The HTML will not validate correctly. You need to put a doctype in there somewhere. Finally, the CSS and PHP tutorials are way too basic. I've been to dozens of sites that offer scrollbar effects and PHP include tutorials. Try something new.The splash page is a bit plain.Layout: 5/10 - Navigation links messes up the layout. The text is also a bit on the small side. Shoutbox won't expand on clickContent: 2.5/10 - (PS tutorials are nice, but the rest are not, so 1/4 or 2.5/10)Originality: 6/10 - Tutorials are plainCoding: 5/10 - tables for layout4.6/

I've been to dozens of sites that offer scrollbar effects and PHP include tutorials.Screenshots, yes i have consider doing that, but it's kinda hard to work with photoshop when you've got a crappy computer. Major ram killer. Have to restart to regain my ram back, so i can continue working. As for html not validating correctly, i dont care much for that, as long as you can see what i want you to see, it's fine by me. As for the basic tutorials, i am working on some advanced tutorials, hopefully covering almost everything about the subject. But you have to know the basics before going into advanced work. For everything else, i'll consider changing the links, so it doesnt appear onclick, for the firefox version. I cant test out everything for the firefox version, cause i dont have firefox installed, anymore. So all testing is based on how i look over the coding (fixed banner problem, btw). Thanks for your help.
