Theyre not happening a lot more lately, youre just more aware of them than you used to be. A lot of it is just the media making much ado about nothing. You happen to see all the hype about the Hawaiian tsunami that DIDNT happen? I take pride as a non-believer.The world isnt going to end, two movies and one guy shouting the end is near seems to make people believe before thinking.I read some days ago a report based on these recent earthquakes. Scientist explain that this is something usual after a great earthquake. Now, remember 1960 in Chile, 9.5, strongest earthquake ever. 50 years after, were all on our feet.Nothing can determine why do tectonic plates move, it just happens. It is something as natural as the rain.Furthermore, scientists are in some way impressed that there havent been more strong aftershocks.Stay calm, the world has been on its own for 4.500 million years, many changes have occurred, what tells you it wont keep changing?

Spring happens to be one of my favorite seasons. I love the sights and sounds that make up this beautiful season of life {kids playing outside, mud pies at the ready, puddles to jump in, rubber ice to race across, new life in the animal world, the movement in agriculture towards sowing and reaping?.. the list could go on}.On this particular day I was motivated to clean, all in an effort to prepare for the gorgeous long days ahead. I am proud to report that our home is now whistling along with me, every nook and cranny has been attended to, the doors and windows have been flung open to welcome this much needed change. Indeed, in so many areas of life ?Spring has Sprung?.

Windows 7 is totally worth the buy. It is fast to install and fun to use. I have been using the Ultimate Retail Edition which i got from Best Buy, for about 2 months now. All the programs that work on XP, work on Win7 for sure, so don't worry about compatibility. It also has a bunch of visual pleasing upgrades from XP and Vista. Check of the review for Windows7 here : http://gizmodo.com/5330609/windows-7-review-you-can-quit-complaining-now. I hope you make the switch. I have Windows 7 Ultimate on my Desktop which is about 6 Years old now. And it running smooth as silk Aero is normal and fast. You don't need that much of a graphics, 256 is good, just get your ram to about 2GB. Im thinking of getting a new Desktop soon, for now, Im gonna stick to my Laptop though. Specs: 2.93 GHz 1.50 GB Ram 512 Nvidia 5000-sumthing 32 bit

Local Site Hosting Put a website online from my computer
deadmad7 replied to rougue's topic in Computer Networks
I would recommend removing any OS you have now and installing Linux instead, as it's a much more compatible server operating system. Ubuntu Server Edition ( www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download/)is probably a good distribution to use, if your computer can handle it. This comes with all the software you need for a basic Web server. First we need a a computer, an operating system, a domain name, a name server and an IP address. You can acquire all the above using your myCENTS from XISTO. If your ISP has the use of static IP addresses then you have to connect your domain with your static IP address. This is done using a name server. Some domain registration services will provide this service for you, such as XISTO. If your computer can not handle static addresses, you can create a free account at https://www.zoneedit.com/ and have their nameservers direct your domain name to your static IP address. Next, we gotta install APACHE ,this can be done using the from the command-line (cmd) or by the Synaptic Package Manager. To operate the Synaptic Package Manager, click on the System menu, select Administration and click on Synaptic Package Manager. Enter your password if it asks for it. Click on the Search toolbar button and type in for apache2 and search for it. After the search completes, the Apache 2 Server should be listed in the Synaptic window. Click on the toggle next to the Apache server and select Mark for installation. Finally, click on Apply in the toolbar to begin the install. To install Apache from the command-line start a terminal window (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) and run the following command at the command prompt: sudo apt-get install apache2 Now we have to check if this all works out. To verify the web server is up and running, do this: *Open up Firefox *Type 127.0.0.1 in the address bar If the browser loads up a page, it works! Congrats on making it this far! Now we have to configure the Apache Web Server for your domain. Which can be found on the internet, anywhere basically. But here is one that is very easy to follow : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Sorry, i couldn't help you out on Skype early, but have any problems? Just PM me or post a reply on this topic and I'll be glad to help or add me on Gtalk . deadmad7 replied to deadmad7's topic in Websites and Web Designing
good ideas, Phil. But these aren't really name though you got me thinking. I don't think I want it to be J something because I want it to be site appealing to US users. Thinks I came up with: WatchXanime.com Nothing else that is good..... Btw, Xanime is a porn site . Keep the good ideas coming!!! -
It all comes down to if you have more time than money. I have more money than time but I did camp out for the Wii only because Christmas was drawing near and when it ran out of stock it would take months before another window opened up to get one. iPad seems however to be pretty atuned to the demands right now. My biggest question is whether first if the iPad presales are comparable to the iPhone opening day sales. Secondly if it is comparably good, does this mean that there wont be the price drop that they had speculated on the Charlie Rose show. I think they said to expect a price drop after the first 60 days but if its doing well would they really drop it at all? I would imagine they would want to keep it up until past the holiday season. That is what they said of the iPhone when it first was released. Yet 42.5 millions sold as of 1Q 2010 (wikipedia.com) Neither can I use my 42 inch flat panel LCD TV in my car. Its not intended for that environment. What?! Neither can I put my laptop in my pocket either. But that doesnt make it any less useful to me. Straw man argument. Its not intended to replace your laptop. It is intended to be a supplemental entertainment device. It is not suppose to replace anything. If you dont like the device, then dont buy one. But to call those who choose to purchase one stupid fanboys is uncalled for. What do you care what other people purchase anyways? Are you this opinionated about what choice people make in the cars they purchase? The TVs they buy? The kind of haircut they get? These things say just as much about a person as the type of computer they buy. Yet you and others here seem to delight in focusing on this one decision people have made. Ive been praising on the iPad in almost every article. But Im also not naive enough to think that someone even Google is going to come in and conquer it. Ive played with plenty of iPhones. Theyre a beautiful product. The iPad is likely equally impressive.Im just not that enamoured with tablets in general. Slightly more convenient, slightly less capable, and slightly more expensive. Thats not revolutionary, thats a consumer trade off weve been dealing with for years. It's great that Apple has finally made a device like the iPad.

And when are you going to upgrade into IPB 3.0 ? Its been there for years now! There are wonderful tutorials on the net telling how to upgrade to V3! I hope you can upgrade it within the next few WEEKS! You can do the thank you system later, after we upgrade. Why upgrade from IPB 2.3.5 to 3.0.x? 3.0 is a complete rewrite with a new ACP, better skinning system, better mod system, more Web 2.0 features (i.e. AJAX all over, especially in the ACP), and other minor improvements in almost every area. 2.3.5 has security bugs.

That theme/skin is that good. I FOUND A TOTALLY AWESOME ONE THAT WOULD MATCH Xisto PERFECTLY. Actually, i have 2 of them. Both of them are color-based skins from Invisionize which is a most trusted IPB theme website that provides themes for free. Just Like IPB 3 Short Description IPB 2.3 skin for those who like the new IPB 3 style. Link: http://skins.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/8418 This totally fits the TRAP style website. I would 150% recommend this theme. Life's Lush Short Description Professional Blue and Green Skin. This is a pretty good theme, but not as the first! Who else wants the NEW Trap to have the the first theme?

There is simply nothing called 'Bricked' in the iPhone world. Anything wrong with the software can be fixed by yourself or by sending it to the Apple Service Shop. This has happened to me a whole bunch of times, just search the internet and get advice in forums like modmyi.com or any other site dedicated to iPhone or iPod Touch. My phone has fallen down the stairs, few about 5 feet vertically when i dropped it, etc. nothing happened. The most i ever got on my phone was a tiny scratch on the edge of the screen (totally usable). Try putting a cover on it or stop being careless. Dude, its your phone. Put it on a reachable table or something. Don't you get calls often? I do. Seriously, after breaking about 3 phones, that cost a fortune, you go out and buy another one? I would have got a 'normal' phone and waited it out for a better phone. I hope you don't break this one too. Good luck!

Hello guys, I was thinking of maybe starting up a Anime website (with episodes and stuff) and I already decided what CMS to use for it but I just can't think of a GOOD name for it. I want it to attract a lot of people, who will keep watching anime on that site. I know i can do the designing part but i cant think of a name for it. I wanted it to be catchy and not to long...and was thinking of getting it as a .com site, as they usually attract more people that others, unless the name itself collides with the domain like pet.co or something. I hope you guys can think of something good, I'm not that creative, even the ones I though were good are already taken . And please make sure that its already not taken before you suggest it. Thank you!

Hey, it doesn't really matter. Posts don't count in this section anyway. Cheers ! Ontopic: I guess you made it a wee bit better but it still defeats the point but its good anyway
-
I totally agree with Ash about turning a new leaf now. Maybe not a the REP system...that could get a little out of hand, but the one about the theme. It looks the same as trap maybe we can get a 'cheap' (about $20-$30 if you wanna go the easy way or just make a new one, i bet someone here can make a very good one). I would suggest to get the theme as a blue color , as everything flows with the blue, but thats just me. Second of all, we should clean up the forums and delete some sections or merge some, sure it has a wide range but who really wants a big disgusting scroll bar, and have to scroll all the way down and get to the GFX section. We just lift the NO POST on some of the sections such as the GFX section and put it at the top, as its a major part of KS(Xisto, first one to use it ). myCENTS should be giving for some prizes and the winner of the SOTW (then everyone will enter ) not a lot of money but just enough to be appropriate. Change the OPEN DISCUSSION to a catchy motto or just put the XISTO motto. Also, the new banner doesn't match with the left part, but PLEASE DON'T FIX IT . WE SHOULD GET A NEW THEME, seriously.

Thanks for replying so fast...Cool, might try making one of those.

You shouldn't have wasted your time by doing this. Who does this anyway? What were you trying to accomplish by photoshopping happy feet into a freak? Maybe you can answer some of the questions. Also, it looks totally fake. The eyes aren't there...and its bald

Well, if you didn't stay inactive for so long you won't have to introduce each time! BTW there was no need for this topic, its practically SPAM! I become inactive for a few days and don't make a new introduction each time. You are only supposed to do it when you are new here and want to greet the community
-
I don't really get the theme, how are we supposed to do it? I thought every signature was based off the render...example please?
-
Nope it doesn't take anything like that, not too complicated. But it goes through your grammar and you get more myCENTS if you have a good grammar (i don't know how it does it or even if it is real). Don't worry about 'how much' you get, just write some good threads/posts and you will be piling 'em up like diamonds. Remember don't spam and don't post one liners If you got anymore questions about myCENTS just PM OpaQue himself, I think he coded the system.

Really good posts OpaQue. I never knew ANY of the tricks on this page. @first This could really handy if you are outside your country and don't know the local emergency number. You can dial this number and get through to police, ambulance, etc. anywhere you travel or live. I though of trying this , but if you dial 911 without any real emergency, you get busted and fined... @second This is the most fun one the whole page. I tried this a few times and it really works. It can unlock it from your house to the car inside. I told this to my friends and family too, but this trick is a wide-know trick. Probably, the most useful on this list. Nevermind, second most useful. @third Sad to say i would have wanted this trick so MUCH! I tried it on my iPhone with dreams of getting1/2 the amount of batter to watch some videos or surf the net or just to call someone but it didn't work. This would have been the most useful one on this list. @four This trick is good for people who don't really have a smart phone and use the regular phones. Though its hard work getting that activation code. I recently got a App in the iPhone that lets me track where my iPhone is from my laptop. So, if i lose my phone, i quickly log on to my laptop in my bag, and find out where it is before someone turns it on or breaks it I hope everyone else finds this useful as I did. Again, nice post OpaQue! Should be stickied in the mobile section

The ESET NOD32 anti-virus has everything you need from an anti-virus, with a nice user-friendly GUI! From scanning your system's operating memory to see if you have inadvertently launched an infected file, to 'right-clicking' a file or folder that you suspect may have malicious code inside it, this anti-virus has it all in perfection! Unlike most of the 'somewhat' more popular anti-viral solutions for "Windows" platforms, this program eat away all your memory and make everything slow, processor speed, and other system resources! This application works in the background seamlessly. With no unwanted prompts, alerts, or useless updates, ESET NOD32 takes a seat at the very back of your system, and takes care of everything in front of it! Without a doubt, this application is underrated! Still to this day, many desktop and/or notebook users are using x86 (32-bit) operating systems, regardless of the fact that most systems are now equipped with x64 (64-bit) processors. Using x64 operating systems on x64 processors will double the performance of your system, and increase security. This in mind, when you combine the additional security of x64 systems with any of the ESET NOD32 x64 security applications, the result is a system that operates with higher performance and stability, and almost fully impervious to anything malicious! For all those out there looking to upgrade system capabilities, or looking for a completely new system, you should to look in the direction of ESET NOD32 x64, on 'Windows 7 x64'.ITS Pros: This anti-virus is very good at providing a anti virus for the latest Windows operating systems that have the new '64-bit' processors. Very neat user-friendly, and most effectfu, this program is the best it gets!ITS Cons: I can't find any cons with this particular program. Its like a god given gift to people how download a whole bunch of stuff. I would give about 8/10 STARS. If you want a good antivirus, this is the one you want.
