  1. wow you now have like 10 websites under your belt??firstly thats amazing. second be careful.why? because I think as you try and make it in this tech world...its best to specialise otherwise you risk becoming a total jack of all trades and master of none. find something you're passionate for and push until you become a real heavyweight!I have run a few forums including one that i might resurrect in the near future and my advice to you would be to make sure you'll never give up no matter what. besides...to me it now appears like the forums thing was something of a fad. maybe its just because i'm no longer an active poster even here but it seems to have passed its glory days at least for me
  2. Hi,I have checked out your website and seem to direct me to something about Prophet Muhammad! lol. It looks like it was hacked. Is that your website now?To verify about the number of pageviews...please consider using Google analytics. I've used ol all my sites and its an amazing piece of software mate.If you're going to run a site with loads of user submitted content..then consider having a strong security mechanism and support team. otherwise you'll lose the support of even your most dedicated of readers.
  3. Thanks for bringing that to my attention...mediacore looks pretty solidI have been learning Drupal of late and its features, flexibility and clarity is absolutely awesome! I have a long history with Joomla but since I started using Drupal i have been much more happier. the platform is truly amazing. The reason why many people don't consider switching over to Drupal is because of its learning curve. With other CMSs you can pretty much have a live site right out of the box whereas with Drupal, you have to learn how it operates to full make it do what you want. As compared with other softwares as well, Drupal doesn't have as many themes for people to choose from. This is both an advantage and disadvantage. What I have discovered is that once you know Drupal and can tweak it to your needs...you are likely to design your own custom theme than look for a predesigned one. To me its a real plus as it allows you to have a real signature on your sites than have a theme that limits what you do to some extent..theming in drupal is real fun even for a coder like myself, i find it way easier as its more code than graphics :)Thats my take on Drupal. I love it and right now...I can't think of using anything else.!!
  4. hello everyone,I'm building my own portfolio website and I just wanted to find out how I can take a snap of a website then arrange the images as 'slices'? I've seen such images all over the web but i'm clueless how to go about it.here is a link of an example....http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  5. Exactly the point I was making, I feel she is someone who's popular but in her head, she really doesn't think straight.I have never heard her come up with one sound argument on her show and I think she's a disgrace to even feminism in itself.
  6. I want to get taller quick!I'm 20 and i'm about 5'5 which is something I don't like. What should I do? Should I take five meals a day?? I'm clueless should I take more calcium before its too late?
  7. I just want to find out what you guys think about feminism. Do you think its a good way of acting and forming a good argument on the gender equality issue?I happened to be watching TV one day and Oprah Winfrey came on, she spoke about Chris Brown and Rihanna and i like Chris Brown yes, and realise what he did is wrong and despicable, but I thought Oprah had not right to blast him like that considering he wasn't there to give his side of the story. This made me think about how feminists, in general behave. I have watched Oprah Winfrey and feel she focuses on topics that demean men and focus on the times when women are the victims. Are we supposed to believe they are saints? I don't think they are.Feminists, in a nutshell, hate men with a passion. is this just my stupid view or do you also feel this way? I think there has to be a better way of judging character and using means that do not disadvantage others.Coming back to the Oprah issue, I think there are many other people out there who are worse off, like Amy Winehouse who behave in manner no one should copy but they don't get blasted on her show. Women are busy cheating everyday but she makes it seem like nothing of the sort is happening. Is't just me or that lady has it horribly wrong?
  8. I think rapists deserve the death penalty once convicted. If there was a tougher sentence, then that's what they deserve. They, in truth, kill someone by raping them. Imagine someone taking that you were so proud of your entire existence by force and walking away scot free or just going to jail for a few months then coming out and continuing on his raping spree. Thats pathetic and they should be castrated then killed!responding to the argument that if one innocent man is killed instead of the true rapist, that is indeed tricky and warrants that the matter be thought through. I wouldn't want an innocent man to pay such a price for someone else. I say in cases where there is inconclusive evidence, then the rapist should be executed.we have many girls who lie that they were raped and its sickening to be honest. Its because of such people that it becomes difficult to hand a good punishment to the offender whenever a rape case pops up. But rapists do not have to go scot free. That i say no to.I would like the punishment for a rape convict to be at least ten years and when they go out if they repeat the act again, its execution time!
  9. I agree totally with gender equality.I try to imagine it happening to me had I been born a woman without the power to change it. I think people should not be disadvantaged because of factors they cannot control. I do have my reservations on a few issues regarding this.Women have been given rights to act totally of their own accord for the past 20 or so years and I think it's been very successful. We have women who are presidents now and more than anything, if someone has talent, its being recognized and their being given a change to make a good living and make their own decisions.I have a problem with feminists. I think they have taken this battle too far and now its reached a stage where they are oppressing men and hiding behind the cover of gender equality. Feminists literally hate men and I think something has to be done since people are now equal more or less. Although its natural to see a housewife chilling at home when her husband is away at work, people still frown when they see a man who stays behind with the wife being the breadwinner. That needs explaining and I think we naturally have roles on this earth and people shouldn't try to change that too much. But gender equality is good and we have achieved a lot!I agree totally with gender equality.I try to imagine it happening to me had I been born a woman without the power to change it. 10. If you ask me, you just have to be yourself, if she doesn't want you she can find someone else.A lot of guys lose girls they love because they try to impress them then after a while, the girls are able to see through their plans. This will really get you sacked!! You have to be clean and dress smart. That is not negotiable. Girls love someone she can introduce to her friends and have them stare at him...deep down she'll feel special to have you. That is the kind of thing girls like. You have to be careful about making her friends jealous...that does work wonders if you ask me.I don't agree with the whole romantic thing everyone is on about. How do you define romantic? Some girls like guys who are like that, others like guys who don't even try...they think it shows they know so much about life. Most girls like bad boys so by being one, she may actually like you and try to change you...but if you keep resisting change...she'll keep coming...you should give her hope every now and then and be sweet but not always.if you decide to be romantic, then do it convincingly!
  11. I'm currently in a long distance relationship and it's been okay...Not great but okay.My girlfriend lives in a different country, we're an ocean apart and we talk via email, phone and msn from time to time. that is to say every week. Communication doesn't have to take a break, so much can change but i trust my girlfriend and she trusts me so everything is cool. The thing that causes many people to have trouble is a lack of trust and you have live in faith and ignore other people hoping your partner is doing the same. This is the most difficult part and I do get tempted from time to time but I have been successful. You risk a heartbreak too because if you're walking straight and then find out your partner was dating all this time...your world would be crushed.LDR need mature people. Someone who's not possessive and ready to allow his\her partner to discover if they are really in love because if you're in love...you will still hook up and stand the test of time.
  12. It's very rational to have an online relationship. I personally see nothing wrong with it. It gives both parties freedom to be themselves and confide with fear of being laughed at or being discriminated against. I have had an online girlfriend..only one so far, it was wonderful. We were so in love and used to chat on msn for long periods at one time we clocked 12 hours!! She was so funny and found me nice too and we just got along great. When you finally meet, it depends on how you two handle it. Since, if you were both honest with each other, you know basically the other person each other out...it actually be very nice and romantic. It can also be boring like hell, if the other person sees something physical she/he doesn't like about the other person. That could turn nasty but its all bout understanding and acceptance and realizing people can't change the way they are. Once wrong is thinking the other person is perfect. That would be only end in a big disappointment. Many people I know started their relationships online and now are happily married.
  13. I personally don't think Google Buzz proves that Google is not innovative, it does nothing of the sort! lmaoIts a very nice feature in that it allows people to use email in an even more meaningful way. I see this move as a clever one by Google as its going through its transformation. Remember they launched Wave a couple of months back. Now I think they hope Wave is going to take over email quite soon and integrate somehow with Buzz to have one major area where everything happens and clean out sites like Twitter and Facebook. It definitely is a counter to other social networks without a doubt, but I think it's got great potential. The only thing that worries me is that Google Mail has around 30 million users so Google limiting itself by offering this only for such a small number. 30 million is a lot, but its less than 10% of Facebook's users. I hope they find another good destination where anyone can land and make use of it.If they had launched it that way, on a separate domain, then it would have been a Twitter clone and i'm sure that is what made them offer alongside mail.
  14. You need to give your girlfriend a bit of space and learn to trust her mate.I was like that too, a couple of weeks ago but I have changed. I used to be so jealous whenever my girlfriend would say she was hanging out with so and so, I'd so enraged i'd just be quiet. Your girlfriend is yours and she will not leave you, unless if you don't trust her, if so...then why are you dating her? Just tell her she can do whatever she likes and you love her very much, and realise you're not perfect for her but you try your best. and show it in your character.Don't just speak like someone stupid and especially when you know your girlfriend will find it offensive or not nice, keep such thoughts to yourself like we all men do. We see beauty everywhere but when we're with our ladies, they deserve the best from us so we are on our best behaviour. if you like green eyes so much that you can't control it, then find someone with green eyes. If my girlfriend did the same more than twice, i'd ditch her on the spot. Your girlfriend is very understanding to even tell you that. Be a man and respect her please.Good luck.
  15. making a website is not easy nor is't difficult you have to use the best approach.Firstly, you have two choices...to learn how to do, the make-up of a site, study code first or to just get your hands dirty straight away.if you chose the first option then i'l advise you learn HTML, CSS and XHTML. That should get you prepared for some of the more popular web programming languages like PHP and MySQL. If need a good book on HTML, CSS and XHTML, google HEAD FIRST HTML,CSS and XHMTL. It's what i started off with and its pretty solid and will equip with the necessary know-how.If you want to get your hands dirty and learn along the way, which is not bad in itself, then look for Content Management Systems (CMS) that will do the job in a short time like Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, etc. The advantage with these is that you get a full community behind you with most of the stuff you may need already available for use, most of it being offered for free, you just have to download then plug and play! You get even good premade themes and your site will be up and running in no time. the learning with this approach comes when you work on customizing your site. Don't be afraid to temper with a few settings and to look over the code and see what is taking place, the functions available etc.Personally, I'd advise you to mix the two strategies. Read on web design, programming languages whilst building the site with a good CMS. That way, you learn quicker and see your progress before your own eyes which will be very pleasing too. :)Good luck!
