  1. An interesting idea, but somehow I dont see it being implemented. In reality, your remote cant be far from your TV, so placing something in the remote that beeps when a button is pressed on the TV wouldnt be that effective, as the area it could be in surrounding the TV is relatively small. Also, how often would people use it? I for one would never use it, I hardly watch TV and I certainly never lose the remote.
  2. Your domain name should be your choice. It should be related to maybe your location, what type of web design (like phpBB3 or custom website design) and really it should be personal, after all, its your website.
  3. 911hosteastcoasthostwestcoasthosteasyhostThere are a bundle more I could come up with, just try and relate the names to what you are aiming to achieve/provide to and for your customers.
  4. In all honesty, I prefer dogs.Cats in my opinion, well, I have never been a fan of biting a scratching, whenever I see a cat I am always reminded of its claws simply because my friends cat has left a lot of scars on his hand of clawing them. I prefer Dogs because they usually have trimmed nails, and their teeth aren't as sharp so now I am very confident when playing tug-o-war with my dog if I cause him to bite me, I don't really care anymore. Its all up to peoples preference, some might like inside pets such as cats, but I prefer the outside pets, the mans best friend.
  5. The Girlfriend as a hobby must go, sounds disrespectful towards her if you ask me. As for myself, I do enjoy gaming, mainly on my Xbox (when I have Live) and playing CoD4/HoN on my Macintosh. I also umpire football on the weekends (Aussie Rules Football), which also nets me a fair chunk of money, so its a very win-win situation.
  6. Personally, its up to what I need the shoe for. I tend to notice Nike make better runners, while Adidas make better sporting boots (moulded). I myself dont play as much sport that involves the use of moulded studs on surfaces such as mud and grass, so I tend to go more Nike as I run more than I play sport.
  7. I just think it is. I live in Australia, a few days ago we had a lockdown because a guy OD'ed on speed I think it was and went mental, and he was year 9 (14 years old). I think accessibility nowadays is the key, because many people have older brothers and sisters who have access to drugs and alcohol and can easily pass it on. What are your thoughts on what could be done on cracking down on alcohol and drugs at school.
  8. The code you gave is more advanced, here is an easier code: <a href="WEBSITE LINK">Refresh</a> Just link that to the page that it will be shown, and it will refresh the page when clicked, just pure HTML for those just learning
  9. Just to help out even more, here are some tips and steps. 1. Make a 16 x 16 .ico file using your favourite Graphics Editor, make sure it is 16 x 16 or it will be too big. 2. Upload it to your website, make sure you take not of the exact URL of where it was uploaded to. 3. Go into the head part of your HTML document, and add this: <link rel="icon" type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon" href="ICO LINK GOES HERE"> Of course, IE hates following the web standards, which makes it a pain, but dont worry, there is a fix, add this as well: <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="ICO LINK GOES HERE"/> Hope I helped you out
  10. It is not a necessity, there is nothing saying you must please customers, it is just common sense. I am an expert when it comes to such a topic. Like I say, I review forums on a fairly large Promotion Forum, the largest out there, so I think I know what I am doing.
  11. I beg to differ, for a newbie, they could just ask there friend. With all the trends and stuff changing all the time, the easiest way to get a review is to ask a friend, thus not making it a necessity.
  12. This is a very fortunate way to come across such a vast subject
  13. I think even with all the flashy pictures and info on new promotions, they are still not worth the time. A newsletter should only be used to deliver news, hence the word news in the name. Using it to promote your site, well, it is a waste of time. Actually, it counts for like 99% of it, as people really need to find your site before they can look at anything else about it. Having your keywords that you are targeting in your domain really does help in this aspect, and bolding your specific keywords on your index page is vital. I find affiliate pictures will 99% of the time just be ignored. Like you stated above, SEO is key, try to get a good quality backlink with anchor text of the keywords you are targeting, it is worth much more than an 88 x 31 picture. You would not say this is a necessity, but rather a way to improve. I am a professional forum reviewer on a forum, I love my job, and many members will always go by an outside opinion, like when I review.
  14. Well, I have noticed many young kids are excited to go to school, but as we grow older we dont like it as much.
  15. My list:1. The Big Bang Theory - Really, I can relate to this series. My whole life is very nerdy, I am a hermit, and yeah, I love the characters as well :)2. How I Met Your Mother - An absolute bloody classic, my favourite characters are Barney and Ted, Barney is quite a cool guy, I like how he acts like he is top, when he always gets rejected, it makes me want to achieve more things.3. Sea Patrol - It is a 3 years series so far. I really like it because it is Navy based, and I have always dreamed of joining the Australian Defence Forces, and it kind of gives me a slight insight as to what actually happens.
  16. I am in your group, Taz :)Me personally, I rate myself pretty well in case of knowing PHP and implementing it. I am a smart guy, so putting things together is quite easy, just remembering most of the advanced PHP code can be quite a challenge. I myself am looking forward to working with Taz, as the software we are building will be first major project, having only founded and run very minor ones. Like TheDisturbedOne said, there are many forum softwares out there, but hey, they had to start sometime as well. The thing is, if you code your own, you know the ins and outs, that is why the creators and long term supporters of phpBB are the ones constantly answering the support questions, because they have been there since day 1.
  17. To answer this question sweet and simple, it is like kids hating school once they get used to it
  18. The good thing about PHP is the functionality it can add to a website, with more than just showing a user some images and colours put together like HTML, the functions are dynamic.
  19. Welcome to the forum, my name is Ryan as well. May I ask why you dont like Macs?
  20. The bad thing about their free hosting (I shouldnt complain, but) is the slowness of the servers and the many limitations they place on their hosting plans.
  21. That one is so awesome, running away from hundreds of enemys with just a Sniper is very tough, but rewarding
  22. This is the problem with very big free hosts such as 000webhost and ByetHost, they use so much resources for nothing, they have to cut down on services offered, if I was you I would go to a Post 2 Host (Yes, Trap 17) and get hosting their, at least you know they are getting something for their services
  23. I really hate 000webhost, they are one oft he slowest free hosts around, but somehow they are the biggest, it seems quite weird how no one likes them but everyone uses their services, probably because they havent seen Xisto yet
  24. Looks like a very snazzy phone, hopefully when it is released in Australia, I can swap my phone over for i. 1 thing I dont like is the fact it is made by Motorola, I have had very bad experiences with them in the past, quickly flattened batteries, overheating etc. Hopefully, this will be different.
  25. Being a true Australian, probably a HSV Maloo, they are one of the best utes I have ever seen, and have some awesome grunt. They cost alot, so if it was in a lower price range, I would love a little Mitsubishi Lancer or 300zx (or Fairlady Z in Japan).
