  1. I'm not really into gaming consoles, basicly everything a console can do my PC can do better. The newest upcomming consoles look amazing if you look at specifications, but graphics arent the only thing which makes a game fun to play. The only game I am looking forward to which will be released on console first is Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2 (Only because number one was a great game for the PC, and the new one is getting released on console first for some crappy reasons). So summarized, I dont care how long they delay the Playstation 3 console :)

  2. Well, I was thinking of ways to improve the ammount of visitors of my website, so I decided to look out for a shorter domain. At first our domain was http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (quite long heh), but we switched to a much shorter domain of only four characters which is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, ofcourse there are some easy to guess advantages to switching to a shorter domain like it's much easier to remember, much easier to type etc. Our visitor ammount improved as well, while normally we would be arround 100 visitors we would now be arround 140, which is quite an improvement if you would ask me.

Ofcourse we have also improved on the content a bit, we added an interview with our clan leader and recruited a few new teams and got rid of some old ones..

Anyway, would you think switching your website to a shorter domain name would be worth the time spend on it if you would get more visitors in return?

  3. I have recently downloaded and started playing Eudemons Online (which can be found on http://eo.99.com/),it's ne of the best MMORPGs I have touched, and I'm pretty much addicted to it (I have reached level 36 in just a week time.. ). One of the major differences of this game compared to other games, is that you can aquire certain monsters (also known as eudemons) and train them, then evolve them, and you can teach them skills). This is all a bit like pokemon, but it's all online and the graphics are better, the game is also much more serious. The game is isometric, this means the game is 2 dimensional, but it looks 3 dimensional. Levelling up at the beginning is easy, but later on it keeps getting harder. The game is free to play, but cetrain features (Like "Offline Training" cost money, because you need to pay for an item which can only be bought by real life money) http://eo.99.com/

I suggest you download the game using the torrent, because the http download often fails and / or is very slow.

  4. Very nice idea for a topic to be honest, strange that no-one thought about making a topic like this :DI traded an animated signature and avatar for a gmail invite, and I was very happy to receive one. I knew no-one on school who had a gmail account at that time, and I shared a lot of gmail invites with my friends. The space and features of google mail are wonderfull, and I'm actively using my account.I recently got gmail for your domain, which I used for my clansite and its members, they enjoy using it very much. Google rocks for releasing these kind of tools to the public for free.

  5. Thanks for sharing this information with the community, I spend ages finding these kind of utility's for Opera! When I still used Firefox these kind of extentions where easy enough to find, but with Opera they try to make extentions as hard to find as possible. I recommend these tools for anyone who actively makes / maintains websites, they help a lot, I promise.

  6. Oh damn that has to be one of the worst computer virusses on the planet, losing files sucks but can be restored with a backup, losing hardware cant be restored and will cost a lot of money to replace it :\Jsut wondering how gruesome virusses in the future will become if they can already do this kind of damage towards your computer, very scary indeed!

  7. Very nice service indeed, but there is one tiny little fact which just spoiled the value of this service 100% to me:[qoute]We're currently showing Music Trends for the United States only, but we'll be expanding to include other countries as we get more data from our Google Talk users.[/qoute]Europeans are left behind, very irritating, but I guess it's the doom of not living in the united states of america, which has a lot of good things as well <_< Anyway I am wondering this one thing.. Google Talk is usually used by people who know a lot about computers and stuff, while other people (namely MSN users) are usually far less serious.. Won't we get a music index of nerdo people? :P

  8. The problem with building your own PC is that the parts you use for it will cost more to you than to a major computer seller, altrough with Alienware you pay a lot of additional money for Alienware software, and the brand needs a lot of money as well...

  9. Well, you can't blame Kevin for someone hacking into the whole server and just defacing the Kevin's folder. I think Kevin should find another host provider (like Xisto - Web Hosting *shamless plug* <_<) and make sure that server admins are monitoring multiple hacking attempts from one IP or one region.
I wonder whoes hosting service Kevin is getting his stuff... but if I was Kevin I would consider dedicated server--to protect my files/web pages and ultimately protect my image.

His hosting provider is called HostingHere, which is located at the website http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, this was said in the article the post linked to :P

  10. I'm the manager of a professional european electronic sports organisation, we have had various problems with cheating opponents in the past, not to mention they also spoil the reputation of competive gaming. If you want to get your hands dirty on hacks, get them off a cheater website and not of Xisto, we don't want Xisto to be associated with hacking!

  11. That pretty much sucks for the users of MegaUpload.. I have a rapidshare premium account myself, it works fast and very well. I would suggest anyone who often downloads a lot of files to get a premium account, it skips all the hassle. A Xisto.com upload service would be great, but admins should only give members who have a lot of hosting credits access to it, maybe deduct hosting credits for every MB downloaded or something.

  12. I have never really had any problems using any of Google's websites, I think Gmail was down for a few minutes a while ago but that's just about it, I never had downtime with any other Google product like Google Search and Google News (I don't use Googles other tools frequently, just from time to time...)dontmaimyourself, the problems you seen to be describing seem to be intentional by Google (I have read Microsoft did the same thing to Opera a while ago) and probably have something to do with google promoting Mozilla firefox.. When I used Opera with Gmail I had a problem zith the back button not going to the prevorious page but to the gmail main screen, which was quite irritating..

  13. Hehehehe, in my humble opinion, Proboards is way to bad to be compared with software like phpbb2, for one proboards can only be run on external servers meaning you are dependant on other company's to host your forum, second reason would be that you cant install any mods on it (also because it's remotely hosted). For PHPBB2 you have thousands of usefull mods available to be installed, also you can choose where you want to install it yourself, on Xisto for example. I've also found proboards to be very irritating with cookies and so on...

  14. Today I read an article telling Google had signed a pact with Real (Creaters of the RealPlayer and other things like Real Arcade) and Mozilla (Creaters of the well known mozilla firefox internetbrowser and the Thunderbird email client) to destribute some of their software (Google Toolbar, Mozilla Firefox and RealPlayer) bundled together.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Google Inc. has extended a multi-year deal with RealNetworks Inc. to promote Google software across Real's entertainment and multimedia products, the companies said on Wednesday.
RealNetworks and Google, together with Web browser maker Mozilla Corp., said they had agreed to distribute the Mozilla Firefox browser together with the Google Toolbar along with Real's RealPlayer audio and video playback software.

    No financial terms were disclosed.

Google Toolbar is a software program users install inside a browser, allowing them to more quickly search the Web than by having to visit Google.com each time they wish to do a search.

The deal, which builds on an existing two-year distribution pact between Google and RealNetworks, is the latest pact Google has signed with major computer hardware and software companies to distribute its software.

In recent months, Google has set deals with PC maker Dell Inc. and software maker Adobe Systems Inc.

By ensuring wide availability of its Web search software, Google is racing to head off competition from Microsoft Corp. as it moves later this year or early next year to release Vista, a new version of its Windows operating software with more built-in search features.

All three companies compete in their respective markets with Microsoft. Mozilla is the maker of the most popular Web browser alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser.

The companies said that the Google Toolbar and Mozilla Firefox browser will soon be made available as options for customers of RealPlayer, RealNetwork's Rhapsody music subscription service and RealArcade games.
