  1. Have you tried out Stronghold Crusader ever!According to me, this is the best strategy game. It has everything a strategy game requires and at the same time, is so simple that even a naive can learn the game easily. It is the perfect mix of everything you want from a game. It provides a wide range of combinations in the level of difficulty. It does not require high system confriguation or high res graphic cards yet provides with adorable animations. Also one can set the speed of the game at his will which never lets the game go boring.Definitely this is better than Rise of nations and AOE
  2. Few hours ago, Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav produced the rail budget in the Indian parliament. The main focus of the budget was on its profitibality and the safety levels it has achieved in the last five years. It was said that Indian railways has achieved a profit of more than 20,000 crore INR and will increase in the subsequent years. The reserves and surpulus has increased to INR 90,000 crore. This is a tremendous performance by the railway minister. From debts, he has made railways as one of the most profitable division of government. Another major point discussed during the session was regarding the safety railways previde. But within a few hours, we have the news that one train derailed and many of the passengers died and many more were injured. Also, even after huge criticisms last year, there is no actual step taken towards improving the technology railways use. This was necessary for the infrastructure development of the country and is ignored yet again.
  3. Finally India won the match and secured the series as they are ahead of Sri Lanka by 3-0 in a 5 match series. Now they should try and test their bench strength. Players like Ravindra Jadeja who are yet to make a debut in one day international cricket and are waiting eagerly to get a chance in playing 11 are likely to be considered for the next two matches. This will be a good test for the young cricketer. If India wins the next match, they will improvise their record consequtive winning srtike. The umpiring should be under close scrutiny and the poor performances by the umpires should not be repeated.
  4. What a batting performance by Indian team today! After loosing early wickets of Sachin and Gambhir, the play demonstrated by Sehwag and Yuvraj is outstanding. They were not scoring anything less than 8 runs per over. Both scored a ton each with a strike rate of over 120. The Sri Lankan bowlers seemed to be helpless and fielders had no choice but to see the ball out of the fence. After the dismissal of Yuvraj, Indian team fumbelled for a while but the well deserved 59* runs made by Pathan took the team back on track and finally India scored a gigantic total of 363 runs in the alloted 50 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Even the captency of Dhoni was extraordinary and the decision of keeping the batting powerplay early proved to be fruitful.India is already leading the 5 match series 2-0 and after this massive score, I think they will win the series today itself. I can't wait to see how the Lankans respond to this score. I hope Jaisurya to make uns in three digits which is the only chance for the Lankan team to save the series for time being. Murlidharan equalled his number of wickets to that of Wasim Akram and is now jointly the highest wicket taker in the ODIs. If India wins this match, they will equal their best performance of winning 8 matches successively. Please somebody ask the umpires to undergo eye tests. For the third consequtive time, Sachin is given out for a wrong decision. Yuvraj also suffered due to the carelessness of the umpires.
  5. Satyam - One of the most trusted companies in India has become the "Enron in India". It was running on fraud of over 70 billion INR for several years!!! Even the auditors like PWC also didnot catch it. Now the future of 53,000 employees is in gray. What do you think should be the punishment for the minds behind it (the CEO, directors, auditors and the corporate governance)?
  6. Yet another terror strike in India! Following the Mumbai attack of 26/11, there is a serial blast at three places in Assam. Five are reported to die in the blasts. This has been the first attack after Mumbai in the country on the 1st day of the year. I hope this year we will be able to curb the terror strikes.
  7. You already knocked out the two names I had in my mind. Seciously these two comps rule this domain. I can barely remember of anything else when it comes to E- Shopping. So according to me, no other e-shops here.
  8. Thats the point Africa, they dont leave it then. I have seen a few of them who joined a company to gain experience and then go for higher studies. But once in the job, they stop all the preparation. They always abuse their job but never changes it even though they have options in hand.
  9. I am a veggi and don't have any problems with people who are not. But I can't understand why people doesn't step back even from killing innocent animals? Is it just for taste? Its not correct to say that non-vegetarian food is more nutritious than vegetarian. Vegetarian food offers a complete diet too. However, many of the diseases in humans including AIDS have their origination form the meat eating habits.
  10. It was a good analysis of the facts and the various conditions developing there and is really an intersting topic. This is a mystry and it will reamin a mystry. You and me can never find out what happened actually and how it happened. We know what we were made to know by the leaders at that time.
  11. Everyone has a right to live his life as he wants ( unless it disturbs others ). and in no way homosexuality can affect others. Its just that this concept is new for us and hence we are reluctant to accept it. I think as the time passes and we boceme more familiar to people who are gay, we will become more comfortable with the concept of homosexuality and eventually the society will also accept it.
  12. I have seen many people during my work exerience who hate their jobs but still stick to them to avoid the uncertainities that may arise while changing it. Its not that they lack in talent, but what they are afraid of is change. ( I do not mean to point out at people having genuine problems )My concern is that are these people really doing justice with their job and with themselves? Is it wise to stick to something you don't like and you are not meant for?
  13. I am also from India and have a work experience in a software firm. Now I am pursuing an MBA degree from a reputed institution here. From my experience, I should say that its always good to have a work experience and then go for an MBA degree but its not always necessary to have experiene for it. All depends on the analytical skills one has and how focused and dedicated he is. The only thing is that the college you are trying to go should be a good one.
  14. New development happened regarding the Mumbai attack!!!Hotel Taj and Oberoi are reopened for the visitors from yesterday onwards. These two delux five star hotels were among the targets of the Mumbai attacks leading to maximum number of casualties. Another development happened in Goa where the state government restricted all the beach parties for the christmas and the new year due to the threats of terror attacks. Goa is the center of attraction for tourism for foreigners.
  15. How come this forum has no responses for last two tears??? No Indian and people visiting India left or what!!! I don't know how I missed this forum earlier.Anyways, I think the reason for this is that there are too many new forums with the same topics now. May be this one could be set as the one where our friends coming form outside can inform us so that we can be of maximum help to them.
  16. MbaFactory, according to me the first and foremost thing India should concentrate with the highest priority is improving the below poverty range people's condition. With a BPL rate of 22%, I can't think of any other factor which can really help the country. It should be the first preferance of the nation and the countrymen to reduce this rate as much as they can and as fast as they can.If Indian youth can take steps towards this, then no doubt we can bbecome a prosperous and powerful nation in true sense.
  17. Thats true, India is currently the best team in all forms of the game. No doubt they are far ahead then other teams in 20-20 and in future also this gap is likely to increase as new talent is explored everyday with increasing pace due to the IPL. In one day internationals they have already swept out England by 5-0 and are looking forward to achieve more. In test cricket, recently they won against Australia and now have a lead in the series against England.
  18. Well said xpress. India has just improved and enhanced the concept of 20-20 cricket. Its not a threat to test cricket in any way as the majority of the target market for IPL is the Non-Test Match viewers. IPL is seen by core cricket lovers as well as the many others who never knew the basics of the game. IPL has only increased the popularty of the game by bringing new viewers to it. Now there are more possibilities of non-viewers attracting towards test cricket too. In this way, BCCI has only helped in increasing the popularity of cricket including test form.
  19. Yesterday's match was a good example of how one session can turn the face of game. India even though are at a comfortable position in the match, but their position was much better till the fourth session of the game. The fifth session was very expensive for us.Anyways, Dravid's come back was a good news and The WALL Is BACK IN BUSINESS. Now all the batsmen in the Indian team have shown some sign of form n the series.
  20. I think just by givig the death sentence to the criminals is not appropriate. Their fate should be decided according to the leve of harm they have caused to the society. Especially if they are terrorists, then death sentence is not justified for them. They must get something more. They should be tortured until they die their own death. This is how others will think thousand times before commiting anything of this sort.
  21. What a match it was!!! It had everything in it a cricket lover can seek for. "India won the first test match against England." We were under pressure for the first four days but the last session of the fourth day and the fifth day turned the result in India's favour. This was the fourth highest run chase in the fourth inning ever. The best part was the 41st century by Sachin Tendulkar. It seems he will never get old and will always be a nightmare for the opponent teams. He also completed his 1000 runs in this calender year. This is for the first time that he scored a ton in the fourth nning and India won the game.Another good sign for Dhoni's squard is that Yuvraj Singh also got into form. He was under pressure of not scoring runs in the longer form of the game. Also, Gambhir and Sehwag again provd themselves as the best available openers in any form of cricket. It seems Endland has done their homework well after a 5-0 loss in the One Day series. Lets hope the next match will be even better and more exciting.
  22. In my opinion, leaving this on the doctor's intigrity is same as hoping a common man will not steal or do anything illegal and not taking the measures to reduce these possibilities. Doctors too have human flaws. The concept of law and order is to create a fear of punishment among the people while doing wrong things.I agree that the doctor will never prescribe a wrong medicine to his patients. But medicines with same composition are available in the market with price variation of 100 to 500%. India is not a very rich country and people can't spend a lot on medicines. Also, the concept of medical insurance is not matured here till now. This creates a lot of trouble for the lower and lower-middle income group people here and sometimes breaks them financially. Its rare here to have a family doctor and is difficult to maintain relationships with him or to know him personally for everyone. Under these circumstances, if the doctors are provided with all these promotions by the pharmaceuicals companies, we can definitely expect some deterioration of the medical services in the country.
  23. Sehwag has given us a ray of hope and a golden chance to winthe match we almost lost. His knock of 83 in 68 balls was amazing even though he was lucky in a couple of occasions. Now its clear Chappel ( Former Indain coach) said sehwag was a challenge for him (even though he failed in it ). English players have also acknowledged him and have said that his way of playing is different ( in positive sense ) then rest of the players in the world. He has turned out to be the most crucial player and someone who can turn any match in favour of his team.
  24. I am from India and was shocked after reading a news article published in the most renwned newspaper i nthe country.According to the article, various pharmaceutical companies have found a new way of promoting their drugs. The new scheme gives the doctors a chance to win attractive prizes such as cars, refrigerators etc just by prescribing selected drugs of the pharmaceutical companies to the maximum number of patients. Prescribe drug A to 10 patients and win aa latinum card or prescribe drug B to 15 customers and get a gold card. The more number of cards they collect, greater are the chances to win a bumper prize.Hundreds of doctors from various cities were announced as the lucky winners publically and were given prizes by Torrent Pharmaceuticals recently. All the infomation regarding theis marketing strategy is available on the site of the company. This seems to be an attractive marketing promotion but is it ethical? Can we trust our doctors if they are giving the best possible drugs to us or are increasing their chances of winning a car? This practice is already banned in US and Europe. How long will it take for our government to understand the criticality of the matter and ban it in India also. The saviour image of doctors is also at stake due to a few doctors and the unethical marketing promotions by the pharmaceutical companies.
  25. Yeah its a good sign that other counties players are standing for India. Another thing is that if the players are not secure in India then they can never think of playing in Pakistan, Bangladesh andSri Lanka as the security issues are more grave there. It would mean a complete sweep out internatonal cricket from the subsontinent. And without this part involved, cricket cant survive for long as most of the finance comes from this part.
