Jet Packs Did they make a succesful one?
FLaKes replied to TypoMage's topic in Science and Technology
I dont think a jetpack will ever work, it just isnt practical to have something like that in your back. It probably would be hard to maneuver and dangerous. I bet that we will se some sort of anti gravity pack or board way before or if even a good jetpack is ever made. -
If you have Firefox you should consider downloading the web developer extension. It has a button called tools in which you can view a speed report of your webpage any time you like. It shows you all the content its size and the loading time of the web page with different connection speeds. I really recommend it. I just did the speed report and it said that the page takes 56 seconds on isdn and 164 on 56k connection. Thats a long time for your visitors with slow connections. Thats over 2 minutes for the dial up ones! You should consider optimizing the images that are over 20k.

You can get like 3 cool alienware themes for your desktop from Alienware. All you have to do is go to their webpage:http://www.alienware.com/ and then you go to the gaming area or any part of the page that takes you to where the top menu is at. Then you look for the "whats new" part of the menu, and download their alienguise Theme manager. All they ask from you is your email. You dont have to own any of their computers. It comes with 4 good looking themes, from which 3 of them rock.

Oh, at first I thought it was going to be for questions that you would ask a customer that would like a system, I just realized by looking at them that they are Job interview questions. Well it would be very usefull for someone who is looking for a java programming job, he could get himself prepared for the interview by studying those questions.

If you are looking for something like soundforge but for free, then you should try Goldwave, which is really much like it but for free. Another very professional program which is usually used to fix voices, to their corresponding notes is Melodyne. Its really hard to use, but once you know how to use it you can load anything, from a guitar loop to a vocal loop and it will tell you the notes in it and will let you modify it. Its not free though

I have always thought that people that ruin things by doing stuff against them and saying they are innapropiate are idiots. I mean what happens to freedom of speech and liberty? why do they go banning games like grand theft auto and such? Do they not have anything to do in their life? Are they just bored with their life that they want to ruin somebody elses fun? If they are the parents and they dont want their child to play it, then that is good. It their problem, but they shouldnt expand it to other people. And yes! Mortal Kombat has always been an original and cool game. With their unique fatalities, it has always been awesome. I really thought the movies were dumb, but the soundtrack was awesome.I recently played for hours a Mortal Kombat game on the xbox at a friends house. We also liked the tetris like mini game it has. It is really fun.

I was just feeling like listening to this song really much, I was really in the mood to hear it, but I didnt really pay much attention to it. A couple of minutes, I decided to listen to music again, when I right clicked the folder where all my music is I got that craving for that specifical song again. And while windows media player was loading, I was sort of wishing that that song was the one to play first. And id Did! Just as this happened, I remember how this has happened many times to me. Where there is a playlist with tons of hours of listening, and I suddenly get the one I really am craving on that moment. I just wonder if it is something that the mind unconsciously does, such as the photoreading thing were you memorize a book with your unconscious mind, and the next time you look for something specific you reach that exact page unconsciously.By the way, anyone know or does photoreading here? Im just starting out with it, and Im really motivated to read and get a higher level of comprehension on books.

=( , I was sad the other day when I saw this picture on msn.com, You know, the place were they have "this weeks pictures". I dont know if anyone here might have seen it, but it was a heartbreaking picture of a child with blood all over him, was crying next no his wounded mother as he was covering her wound. It made me feel bad, and made me hate both groups that are fighting over there.

There is this website were I learned a lot about html:http://www.w3schools.com/ It not only is great on xhtml, but it also has css, javascript, and almost anything you need to get a website going. Besides having all that, it has a free exam on every subject to test your knowledge on the area. THey also write them down, very easily to read making it very clear. The almost very best part about that site is that it has online examples that you can even modify, its such a great site. I also recommend googling for it and you will find a bunch of places were you can learn html. It depends on which one you like, and which one you find easier to read.Good luck!

I created my first website on fortunecity, It was a website about my band, it had news, photographs, and events. It was a good page for being my first. When I look back at it I realize that I have come a long way in web designing.Whats funny though, is that I really didnt know how to make web pages back then. By this, I mean, that I didnt know that web pages were being made with chopped up tables. I used my intuiton and used divs. I remember I ended up with something horrible as I didnt know anything about using them as cointeners and such.Until after some time, I decided to learn HTML, and then I started liking web design. I remember being frustrated with things like, giving lots of space in the html, and only getting one jump, etc.

Will You Be Dumping Your Desktop For Google Apps?
FLaKes replied to delivi's topic in Search Engines
Well, its just that google offers better and innovative services. I remember when gmail just came out and people were battling with their 2 mb hotmail accounts. Everybody was just fighting for an invitation. Their services are the best. They really dont have competition. Who else gave you a google earth back then? well free google earth. Who else gave you a 2 gb mail box back then? not to mention the other services they have and the other ones to come. And to think that it all started on just a search engine. -
What Eye Colour Would You Prefer? If you could change it?
FLaKes replied to life_is_life's topic in General Discussion
I wish humans had more hair and eye colors. There would be more variety and it would be interesting and cool. Just like those japanese anime people, imagine having blue or green hair, or a girl friend with purple or pink eyes, that would be sweet. -
First of all welcome to the forums. Unfortunately there doesnt seem to be many people here that has experience with laptops and Im sorry I cant be of much help either, especially because I dont own a dell. Replacing some parts in laptops can be a difficult task, but I would suggest you check out the following forums and post that there: http://www.notebookreview.com/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Just go to the dell section of the forums and post your problem and you will get support with your problem a whole lot quicker than Dell or any other place would answer you. There is are lot of people there who are actually more prepared to help than most companys customer service.Good Luck. Have fun here in Xisto!!

Ps3's Price Tag! Will it drive customers away?
FLaKes replied to dundun2007's topic in Computer Gaming
Bkag, believe me, they do sell for a lot of $$$. Just watch ebay around those times. The people who didnt prebuy one, and want one for christmas are rich and they can pay as much as 3 times the price of the system. I remember last year, some xbox 360?s were selling for around 1k - 1.2k dollars. -
Wow, that is great!! I have always wanted to know why the length of the hair in my arms stops growing at a certain length, that is so interesting, and even more that a Xisto member has done this type of research.I was told by a hair stylist that using gel and stuff like that isnt something that will make you loose your hair in a couple of years, and I guess its true because Im 22 and I still have a lot of hair on my head, besides, she said that they usually have vitamins that help it out a bit, the only problem, just as you said is when you get it on the scalp and clog up the pores. The other thing she said that causes damage to your head is scratching or cleaning your head to hard when you are showering, and also wearing a cap all the time. Well thats about all the advice I can remember, what do you think about it?

Your Favorite Type Of Music whats your favorite?
FLaKes replied to shamamster's topic in General Discussion
I like all types of music, whether I like it or not in the moment depends on my mood. But since this is just about favorites, I would have to say... I actually dont know what genre this would be in, but my two favorite bands in it would be Celldweller (from movies like constantine, doom, punisher) and Mindless self indulgence. It an awesome mix of a bunch of genres in one. I guess they are my favorites because they are completely unique, I cant even group them in one genre. -
Yeah thats happened to me too. All this stuff is crazy. Killing yourself in a dream, that is also crazy, I wonder what would happen to you if you killed yourself, would you wake up? Or live in the dream like a ghost or something?

Lack Of Hd Support From Nintendo Should Nintendo support HD?
FLaKes replied to izimngcubes15's topic in Computer Gaming
Now that the future hard drives for laptops are going to be based on flash memory, I was wondering if maybe in the console after nintendo wii, nintendo is going to head back to memory based games instead of the freaking crappy optical cds. I think it would be a lot better, because I remember how crappy all the consoles that used optical cds were compared to cartridges. The waiting time is not as bad as it was on the first playstation now, but its still annoying. It would be great if nintendo went back to cartridges with the new flash memory technologies. -
Ive tried it, though it was sort of accidentally the first times. I was trying out the polyphasic sleep, and I was really tired in the morning and without knowing I did the wake back to sleep method. When I was almost falling asleep I could feel some weird vibrations and felt like I was falling. I couldnt wake up because I couldnt even move my body. It was really scary. Later on when I found out about Lucid dreaming and out of body experiences, I learned that I was supposedly about to have an out of body experience, which I would definitely be scared of having, because there is a hospital like 2 or 3 blocks away from my house. Scary, I cant imagine what I would have ended up seeing.

Music Genome Project Discover more music that you may like
FLaKes replied to FLaKes's topic in General Discussion
I have kind of already got bored of it. It always repeats the same bands and their same songs after a while. The only thing its good for is discovering new bands but when you have already gone around their loop its all over. -
I can Imagine google making its own operating system in a couple of years. The way its growing it will probably be everywhere, Imagine, a google pc with a better look than mac. That would be cool.

Hi, me and a friend are planning to put up our own server to host the future web pages that we will be making, and to sell hosting. Right now we are stuck with the Ip address, anybody know if Xisto.com sells an ip address or someone else that does?I have dsl at home where I was planning to put the server, I called the internet service provider and they told me that I would need to upgrade to the enterprise package which would cost $100 dollars plus what I am paying for the internet, which would total to about $139 dollars a month. Which is too expensive for us. Anybody know another solution for this?
