  3. I learned some of my CSS knowledge in an entry level computer science course in high school. However, I learned the majority of what I know at W3Schools.com which is the best single resource to use because they set the web standards. Recently I have become more concerned about cross-browser compatibility and have run into some interesting problems with Internet Explorer especially 6.0 (mostly with positioning). I have had to dig around on the internet to find some IE hacks. CSS is definitely something I encourage anybody to learn. It is very simple and easy to learn but the results are fantastic once you get the hang of it. At first you might have to constantly reference W3Schools in order to remember what attributes do what. Stick with it. I have memorized countless and even quite trivial CSS commands over the years and I can do anything I set my mind to when designing a web site. It's great. I suggest that you don't waste your money on books that explain CSS when there are W3Schools and other free internet resources available, but who am I to tell you what to do? :lol:I wish you the best in your quest for new knowledge!
  4. I am a long time camaro fan, and I think that the camaro has consistently looked better than the mustang. Generally, the camaro has had more power as wellif I am not mistaken. One thing I can say about the mustang is that it has never been stopped in production. That is pretty cool and it shows Ford's honor and dedication for the pony. The camaro on the other hand has not been manufactured for about 8 years now I believe. Fortunately, the camaro is being reborn inmarch of 2009. I can hardly wait. Also, the last generation of the camaro did not look muscular whatsoever. It was still a cool car, but it was not all muscle.Overall, camaros are better than Mustangs and I can barely wait for the all new camaro to come out!
  5. I know that it is nothing special, but I just wanted a couple opinions on my first real attempt at a face. It took me hours (about 6-8) to do it. I plan on editing further and also maybe adding to the character and putting a cool background on it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. I know that the anatomy may be slightly off, but I am no expert. FYI I used a mouse (not tablet), made it via the GIMP.
  6. I certainly have never skipped a class. I have always made it a priority that I take school seriously and that I suffer through every class. I can't tell how much I have wanted to skip French class though. The teacher and the French language/culture drive me close to insanity! Nevertheless, I have attended every class and have always maintained excellent grades. Taking education seriously is very important to me and I view it as the key to a successful future. I plan to attend a prestigious university upon graduation.
  7. I full-heartedly am a believer in the power of prayer. Many, many stories exist describing the protecting and healing power of prayer.I have been a praying Christian as far back as I can remember and I also have been very blessed throughout my years as well.Once when I had a bad knee injury from repetitive running for track I could not run or play soccer for weeks. One day I was pleasantly surprised to notice that my knee was significantly better. Then the next few days brought nearly complete recovery to my knee.I learned the next day that my parents along with some fellow Christians had prayed for the healing of my knee just days ago. I then made the connection that God had responded to their prayer for my healing with a 'yes' and had initiated a speedy recovery and I silently prayed and thanked God.Yes, prayer can be transforming.
  8. Is it really possible to click it? I tried for a couple of minutes.... and nothingoh well, i guess i must fail at some things!interesting project (basic but entertaining)
  9. I was looking around at different video games and eventually arrived at Simcity Societies. The game looks quite similar to Simcity 4 as far as I can tell, but I guess it's a little more in depth. I think you can control more parts of the actual society like you can make it authoritarian or capitalist and stuff. The buildings look amazing and I am sure that it is more realistic overall than past Simcitys. If any of you have played Simcity Societies and can tell me more about it and what you think of it that would be awesome! Here is a link to its official site Simcity Societies where you can check out some videos about the game. Also, I guess EA (electronic arts) decided to listen to the fans and inject some funny and pointless disasters (dinosaur attacks city, robot holding a hamburger attacks city, earthquakes, and really heavy rain (collapses buildings)) into the game like in the older SimCitys.
  10. I am always afraid when I am in dangerous situations that could lead to injury or death. I do fear death for I do not precisely know what is beyond it.I like to think things through and always know the answer to everything. The after-life is something that no one can fully predict what it's like. I do believe that there is a heaven and a hell (and I greatly fear hell). Also, it would be a shame to die now, for I have so much left to do on earth.Besides, dying would sadden the lives of those around me (I like to think )Overall, I enjoy life and fear death.
  11. The looks do not compete with Apple's.Quite frankly, people would rather get an Apple product anyway just because it's an Apple. Also, I'm sure that some people really like the fact that their Iphone is also their Ipod. The Google G1 will fail just like any other recent Iphone contender!
  12. Among my favorite cars are the Ford GT (not mustang gt), ferrari Enzo, koenigsegg ccx, SSC Aero (the fastest production car), and the camaro (especially 1969).My favorite SUVs include the Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Commander, range rover sport, and the hummer h2.My favorite import tuner car is the Toyota Supra (the only good looking car Toyota made).
  13. HOLY SMOKES!!! I just got lucky again. This time I played it at its official site http://www.seethru.co.uk/ and look what happened!! I got a score of 1750 I highly suggest y'all check out the creator's site!!
  14. Ha Ha Ha, beat this This was a lucky round for sure. I normally only achieve a score between 400 and 750, but this time I went for the gold! This game has been around for a long time. Definitely not the first time I've seen it (or played it). The game itself is very addicting. It is simple both in game and graphically, but is nevertheless a quality game.
  15. I absolutely love the color scheme. It is unusual and creates a cool feel. The layout is nice as well. I really like your head graphic and how it ties your header to the rest of your page by mirroring it. Awesome. Pleasingto the eyes and easy to navigate too. Job well done!
  16. The colors are OK but nothing special. I think that I would try keeping the colors (since you seem to stand by them in your FAQ and have a bright personality) but changing how they are displayed. The shapes and the quality of the graphic work have definite room for improvement. The links along with the rest of the site look like they are outdated. If I have extra time, maybe I will sketch up something to contrast your current site.
  17. The site works well and has minimal if any errors, but I have to say that it is nothing special as far as looks go. The colors and shapes could be better and the graphic work on the button links could definitely be better. It gets the job done though. Also, why is it that I can scroll a little bit horizontally on the home page? I don't think I should see a scroll bar. (I use Firefox 3 to view it if it helps)
  18. Your http://error404.000webhost.com/ page has an issue concerning one of the input fields. The "tags" input field overflows its container. Other than that, the site seems to be fairly good (I am viewing it on Firefox 3). The site has a clean layout and it has a nice flow to it. The graphics are good as well.
  19. I have been web designing for some years and I can declare firefox to be the clear choice. Building on firefox is great because it closely follows the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) guidlines (click to see what they are about). IE makes me angry often because it refuses to recognize web standards in many instances. While Firefox, Safari, and Opera are all better than IE at following the standards firefox is the best. Also, firefox has this really sweet add-on called Firebug. "Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page... Firebug 1.2 requires Firefox 2 or 3." Other firefox add-ons that aid web development include Tamper Data, iMacros for Firefox, Greasemonkey, and docked JS-Console. The worst part about IE (especially when making a site backwards-compatible with version 6) is the CSS. It is practically a nightmare. I have had to google many work-arounds and hacks to get sites to look the same across all common browsers. Yah, Internet Explorer would be long gone if it was not integrated with the Windows OS. Safari would likely die out as well if it was not connected to the Mac OS in favor of Firefox.
  20. You know, I have played every single NFS except for the orginal and I have got to say that Most Wanted is my favorite. I has a great story line, the graphics are so-so, and the gameplay is very enjoyable. I do have to say that I also like NFS Hot Pursuit II which was the last of the true NFS where you race high end sports cars.
  21. I highly doubt that China would start a war with the US1. I believe that even the Chinese military is not stupid enough to start a potentially world-dooming nuclear war2. The US is one of the largest crutches keeping up the Chinese economy (China should be scared that we would cut off trade with them)3. They must have enough sense to know the US is still stronger than the Chinese Military (not in numbers but in weapons)
  22. I agree with most people replying here. I would not cut off a finger for one million, but I might consider it for a larger sum of money. Perhaps 10 million. Oh, and can I get it in cash?
  23. I personally play football (soccer as it's called in the states) and have played for almost my entire life. It is a great sport and keeps you in good shape. However, I typically do not enjoy watching a football game as much as I do an American football game. It can get sort of annoying though too because there are so many stoppages and timeouts in American football. I feel that people who play football are much better and more dedicated athletes than people who play American football.
  24. I watched the first in the series of Presidential Debates that the John McCain and Barack Obama are engaging in. This first one was supposed to be primarily on foreign policy but half of it ended up being on the 700 billion dollar bank bail-out and on how each presidential hopeful will get the great country of the USA out of its current economic crisis. I feel that John McCain was slightly drowned out by Obama concerning the passion and clarity of their speeches. However, I also feel that McCain backed up his opinions better than Obama did by bringing scenarios in the past. John also seems to be more involved than Obama on the global and military scene. He has been everywhere it seems while Obama likes to stay home. Overall, critics are saying that the debates came out a tie, but since Obama was expected to be weak in foreign policy and instead kept up with McCain the democrats and independents are likely to work up Obama. What's your opinion on the debates.
  25. Really nice work I think. With a little more work it will be amazing for sure. I particularly like the face.
