I used to be at 110mb, until their MySQL databases went away.They sure didn't fool me when I first went there. It was, I believe 2000 MB (1.95 GB) of space, and 10000 Mb (9.77 GB) of bandwidth per month. And stuff like PHP and mySQL were there for no charge flat.

It varies massively between companies, and it is often best to check with their sales department if they do not specifically mention the database size on their website or in their literature.

I know the limit with AwardSpace is 10 MB.

I am completely opposed to the death penalty. Yes, even for murderers. What good does it do?

 

1. It deters people, making them think twice before murdering someone.

It deters people who haven't planned the murder out. It doesn't deter people who have already thought twice (evaluated the consequences) and decided to go with it anyway. Most of these murderers feel like their life isn't worth anything anymore anyway, because of whatever the person they're about to murder did to them.

 

2. Taxpayer's dollars won't be wasted in providing beds for someone that murdered one they might have loved.

This is a utilitarian argument. It is a good idea, but is it practical? Killing people to save money gives the impression that the government is mean, hedonistic, capitalistic, and oppressive. Let the utilitarians argue about that for a while and see what they come up with.

 

3. Justice is done. The punishment fits the crime.

Define "justice". Even the Bible says, "forgive your oppressors". Does the punishment really fit the crime?

 

4. The crime will no longer be committed.

The crime wouldn't be committed if the prisoner was on life without parole, even if only for 24 years. Also, if rehab was successful, the crime would also no longer be committed.

 

5. You throw away your right to life when you commit a crime.

No, you don't. You may throw away your other rights, but everyone has a right to life. (That is to say, every living human. I support abortion as well, because the fetus is not a living human, in the sense that it is not living.) Just because you've committed a crime doesn't mean you're not a human anymore. It may seem that way, but it isn't.

im fed up with people who take in their duty to ruin other peoples lives. personally i belive if anyone touches my stuff or me in a threatening way i have every right on the universe to strike em down. The law is nothing. So what the bad guy gets caught all the police do is tell them they should do it tell them not to do it again and let them go! Great justice sherlock.

But i dont think we should kill them, thats too easy. Instead we kill two birds with one stone. Why tyest on INNOCENT (and usually rather cute) animals when we have prisons full of blokes who think it is right to do such things to women and even to men. Prisons full of people who have murdered, tortured, maimed and wrecked other people and their lives. Perform the darn tests on them guys and girls! I dont care about human rights! If you decide to do such a thing you throw your rights away. Like i said zero tollerance, kill em but even better torture them before they die.

And dont bring up the whole "but then youre as bad as them argument." I'm not a threat to the public if im taking away the threat. Surely that argument would mean that all police offers who have made an arrest should be in jail? All parents who have ever hit their children (if the kids are being a pin in the a** not just hitting them for fun) should also be hit. That argument just doesnt work anymore.

Performing prototype medical tests on prisoners is a very draconian law. You're basically using a sledgehammer to kill a peanut.

There prototype medical tests are VERY underdeveloped, and something could go seriously wrong including severe pain for several years followed by death. Sure, you throw your rights away when you commit a crime. But it doesn't mean you're not a human anymore, and it sure doesn't mean that you can't get them back. You can learn from your mistakes and slowly get your rights and your conscience back.

Zero tolerance doesn't have to mean zero mercy. Just because that person raped one other person, that person's life doesn't have to end. Neither does the rapist's. Someone else advised that they lock a sign on the rapist's head for 2 years in a row, plus community service. I say make the sign have big flashing lights and say "I AM A RAPIST" in big 240-point letters (the kind that you see in cartoons sometimes), and have them do 3 years' worth or 800 hours of community service, whichever comes last.

I would have to disagree that Xisto would need a wiki page as everything you need to know about trap is in the Xisto read me, it wouldn't make sense to add more work for the admin and moderators to do. Also it would get lost in the millions of articles that wikipedia already has, and I don't know of too many webhosts that actually have a wiki page since most of them are trying to get their hosting site listed in directories and what not.

I have Firefox and Konqueror on My KDE, as well as just Firefox on Windows. I haven't seen anyone use HTML5 yet, but 'm sure it will become the standard in a few years.

I dont think we need Xisto on wiki. If people want to find out about Xisto there is always Xisto.com. I dont think we'll be included in wiki because we are a very small community IMO. Sure we have almost 40,000 members but only a small percentage of us are active. Who knows maybe if they have time they will include us in there but I doubt that because I'm sure theres still more popular things out there that are inline to be added still.

I see. About how many people do you think are actually active on here? I might not be as much, since there are no real topics here that I can comment about.

A positive action like the one-child policy is seen as an infringement of freedom in most countries. Maybe use passive action like educating about birth control?

This would be the cosmologist's defense of nonbelief, because the cosmologist states that because there are an infinite number of universes out there, at least one, the one we live in now, should have some sort of viable life in it, according to Drake's equation.

I am not an American, but am answering this reply as an observer of American Football. My choice is the Canadian Football League where the Rules of Football have not yet been altered to provide a better Television Experience. Canadian Football is played with a Wider field, 3 downs only, Deeper End-zones, 12 players on the field (1 more than American), Motion allowed in the backfield towards the 'line', etcetara.Truly a better game...

Not to mention that American football is a spinoff of Canadian football; they just chipped off 10 yards and a player and threw in a down so that the game would be easier. (Or at least that's what my health textbook tells me. I have yet to see the truth.)

Hotmail for me, hotmails just an easier option rather than. With hotmail Im able to chat to my friend who all use hotmail. I hardly ever use Gmail apart from my work. Gmail is cool because your able to change the @ address but hotmails just better I guess.

Hotmail is called Windows Live Mail now. It has 2 GB of storage, compared to about 6 GB with GMail.

Gmail has POP3 support; only Hotmail Plus accounts have such a feature.
