  1. Yeah, that's why you should make it like focused on a game, and not on winning cash or prizes. Like the army game. You could give more weapons for a sign-up, for example. That's how NeoPets works. They give you NeoPoints (to buy objects with in the imaginary land thingy) for every advertiser you sign up with. But if you're gonna do that you'll have to make sure you protect minors (or whatever the law is in your country).
  2. Yeah, you go into cPanel and click on MySQL, and set up the thing yourself.I'm not sure about what script you're using but most of the time you will have to modify the config file to enter your database details.I think cPanel will prefix all databases and usernames with your cPanel username. So if your username in cPanel is sunkist, your database will be sunkist_databasename, and your username will also be sunkist_username.I think most of the time the database host should be localhost (by default, so no need to change this). You set your own username and password. Most people use "admin" as the username for scripts. That's all. Any other questions you can PM me, IM me, or you could bug other more knowledgeable people out there lol. -_-Cheers.
  3. It's a cool idea, definitely. Maybe you could take some ideas from the NeoPets site. Like implement a point system that they can use to redeem stuff. You could take the idea from Trap 17 as well, and get them to post to earn points, but you could also get them to sign up with advertisers that pay per lead, and that would get them more points. How's that?
  4. Put this in your .htaccess file. The .htaccess file has to be in the root folder of your site. RewriteEngine OnRewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?yourdomain.com/.*$ [NC]RewriteRule \.(jpe?g|gif|bmp|png)$ - [F]
  5. Ahh, thanks for clearing that up NilsC. -_-But I cannot point it, not at all? Not even with FDNS.net or some other service? Or do those only help in pointing your own server-run subdomains? So basically all I can do is modify my subdomain to redirect, in cPanel?
  6. I'm just wondering if this was a very nice thing to do, to make a topic on just what Christians say. What about Buddhists, Atheists, Muslims, or Hindus? Why imply that only Christians say idiotic things? Why not create a topic "The Most Idiotic Thing Someone Has Said?" instead?Just wondering if you're not bringing your own bias to the community here. I've had such a wonderful experience so far, I'd hate for things to deteriorate. While there hasn't been any flaming, I'm just politely reminding everyone to be considerate and open-minded.Cheers.
  7. If you look at your stats page, it will show you this news update: If you're using Firefox you can right-click on the link and get it to show up in a new tab. I do that all the time. It's one of the things I love about Firefox.
  8. Thank you for trying to help Inspiron, I appreciate it but those don't really help much. What I'm asking is whether anyone knows of a way to use my subdomain.tatatee.com as a normal domain name to be hosted outside of the Trap 17 name servers, ie. is there a way for me to change the DNS for one single subdomain only? What hype said is true, yes, I also did tons of searches and waded through pages of information. But I have no idea what an A record is or how to modify it, so I'm not risking it for now, until I find out more.
  9. If you're using IE Go to Tools > Internet Options. Under the General tab (which should be the first tab you see), there is a section called Temporary Internet Files, with the description Pages you view on the Internet are stored in a special folder for quick viewing later. Right under that there are three buttons. Delete Cookies, Delete Files and Settings. Click on Settings. A dialog box will pop up which says Check for newer versions of stored pages: Select Every visit to the page (the first option). Click OK for this dialog box, and Apply for the Internet Options window. All set. If you're using Firefox Go to Tools > Options. Under the Privacy tab (which is denoted by a yellow lock icon on the left sidebar), there is a list of options for which you can change the privacy settings. The last option in this list says Cache. Click on the little + icon. Where it says Use up to: [ box ] KB of disk space for the cache, change the number in the box to 0 (default is 50000 KB). Click OK. All set.
  10. My cousin wants a website but she doesn't need a paid domain name.I want to transfer out my subdomain to for her to host elsewhere (as she is working and very busy and can't post on the forum for hosting for herself). Is there any way for me to change the DNS for a subdomain?I've tried searching on Google and on other forums talking about DNS and stuff, but I can only find things relating to redirecting and host masking, but since she doesn't have an alternative domain, but wants to use a subdomain as the address, how can I make this possible? Thanks for replying
  11. To enable buying objects from all furniture categories, press shift-ctrl-c to bring up the cheat console, then type in boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled false. To disable the furniture categories again, type boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled true.
  12. Well, it's designed to look like a DVD cracking hack thing so unless you were interested in those, you're safe I guess. -_-I use AVG and Ad-aware.
  13. Mine is a quote from Blaise Pascal (1623-1662), who was a French physicist. Yes, does the name Pascal ring a bell, anyone? Heh heh. He was also a mathematician. You might have heard of Pascal's triangle, the method by which you can manually calculate binomial coefficients. I used to be fascinated by that stuff. Haha. Disclaimer: I am NOT a nerd, okay! I can be pretty bimbotic if I want to. And sometimes, even when I don't want to. Okay here's the quote: "Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne conna?t point." (English translation: The heart has its reasons, whereof reason knows naught.) Taken from Pens?es, or Thoughts. Just in case anyone's interested, you can read it here.
  14. lol Shadow, actually, you can download Firefox for free here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/get-started-firefox-overview-main-features Crashcore - yeah, when I checked my stats, about 80% of my visitors were on Firefox, 5% on Opera and only 12% on IE. Let's hope more people catch on!!
  15. Yes, it destroys any file that ends in .mp3, effectively, your entire collection. Sucks, init? Haha. If it was distributed by the RIAA, that'd be like shooting themselves in the foot, wouldn't it? I mean, to have the worm destroy the legal files too? I ripped all my CDs into iTunes to put into my iPod, so they're all legal, so it's kinda nonsensical/ridiculous to wipe my collection out, since I did nothing wrong.
  16. Did you make an admin part to the module? I think this tutorial should help you out. http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/modules.php?namng-modules.html It has many useful points, including the rules that you should follow when creating a module, and also tells you about making the public part of the module and also the admin part of the module. Hope that helps!
  17. Here's my list.1) Singapore2) United States3) Australia4) Great Britain5) Italy6) Switzerland7) European Union8) Canada
  18. Why don't you use TagIt! Tagboard? You can call it up on any page using iframe tags. It's really easy to install and if I'm not mistaken I think you can autoinstall that with Fantastico, either that or it's a preinstalled script already.
  19. Okay, thanks.I've already uninstalled it. I was unable to back up my data before I did that Will be looking around at other CMSes, any good ones to recommend?
  20. Last checked, yes, phpBB, Geeklog, Xoops... etc. All those scripts that lots of people here in this forum use... It's a IE exploit to do with the way IE reads vbscript tags.
  21. Problem:The cookie for admin is set by default to one month for most scripts. This is dangerous because anyone can enter a certain script (which I won't paste here), and IE will auto-correct it, sending information to that person, who can then change the UID and log in to the site as admin!!Solution:If you're using IE to login to, clear your cookies, it's not too late! Then, switch over to Mozilla. You know you want to...
  22. How many times? Once. And then I stay here the rest of the day... and into the night, and the next morning,....... LOL :)And yes, I love Trap 17!! I'm gonna make tons of banners for them whee. :lol:PS. How do you get those cool sigs that show where I'm from??
  23. Right, first off, Photoshop costs a bomb, I don't have the cash, so it has to be GIMP. Anyways from what I've heard, GIMP is about as good as Photoshop, and it's free. The latest stable release is of GIMP is 2.2.6 and you can get it here. Points to note: GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It is limited to 256 colours only. Hence, it isn't a good idea to use this format if you are working with high-resolution photos/images and want to keep them at that level. It works better with illustrations. First, using GIMP, make all the layers of your image. Simply put, one layer is just one frame of the animation. If you're not sure how to go about working with layers check out the GIMP documentation on the GIMP homepage. Let's assume that there are 4 layers: 1) Background, 2) Layer #1 - what you want to appear in frame #1, 3) Layer #2 - what you want to appear in frame #2 and 4) Layer #3 - what you want to appear in frame #3 (which is your final frame) They don't necessarily have to be in order. Unless you're like Adrian Monk or something. You should actually see all your layers together in a horrendous looking mess unless you turn on hiding. So to make life easier for yourself, go to the 8th menu in the image window called "Dialogs" > click on "Layers" > a dialog box with a listing of all the layers will pop up. Click on the eye icons to toggle hiding/showing of each layer. If you want to rename layers, right-click on the layer and select "Edit Layer Attributes". Go to the last menu in the image window, "Video". Select "VCR Navigator". This is where you edit the time of each frame and which layers appear in which frames. When you're done, save the file (in .gif format......) That's it! Note: ImageReady is definitely less complicated to make animations with, but... GIMP is free! If you encounter problems, you might want to take a look at these helpful pages. https://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Simple_Animations/ https://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Using_GAP/ Hope that helps
  24. Hi, I've recently installed XOOPS 2.0 on one of my subdomains, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and after I'd posted a new entry today, it started showing up a blank index. I got into my admin area and turned on PHP debugging mode and this is the error message I get: Parse error: parse error, unexpected ')' in public_html/sims2/html/modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/markdown.php(774) : regexp code on line 1 Fatal error: Failed evaluating code: ''.str_repeat(' ', - strlen('') % ) in public_html/sims2/html/modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/markdown.php on line 774 Notice : Undefined index: HTTP_REFERER in file modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php line 71Notice [php]: Undefined index: HTTP_REFERER in file modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php line 71 Notice [php]: Undefined index: HTTP_REFERER in file modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php line 71 Notice [php]: Undefined index: HTTP_REFERER in file modules/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/google-hilite.php line 71 I've no idea what that means. I've posted news topics on the site before and nothing like this has happened. I've turned my site off temporarily. Could someone please tell me what the above errors mean (in simple terms, if you can?) thank you sooooooooooo very much in advance!
  25. Thanks for the feedback, cmatcmextra and Dragonfly. :lol:Good point about going back to the index from my subdomains, Dragonfly. I'll work on that.
