Where Do I Install Perl Scripts? Help, i need somebody help... :P
GodFather replied to de4thpr00f's topic in Programming
I am not a master of perl, but have you tried executing it from the cgi-bin directory? If not this might be a bug with the server. Try contacting an admin for assistance on this. Cpanel says the path to perl is /usr/bin/perl, and cPanel uses perl if I can remember right, so it must exist. -
Hello, In this tutorial I will show you how to install Compiz Fusion onto Ubuntu Linux version 7.10 with an ATI Graphics card. Requirements: Ubuntu Linux 7.10 You use an ATI Graphics Card To start off, all these scripts should be ran in terminal. Terminal is accessed by clicking on: Applications Accessories Terminal We will be putting the prefix of sudo on before the codes. This makes it run as an administrator, as Ubuntu doesn't allow direct access to the accounts. First of all if you haven't already, enable the restricted driver for the ATI Graphics card by going to: System Administration Restricted Drivers Manager This may require a restart. Next type this into terminal, if you are unsure how to access terminal, look above. sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-managerSay "y" if asked and type the password you use to access your account when asked. Next type this in: sudo apt-get install emerald After that type this in: sudo apt-get install gnome-compiz-manager That is all you have to do in terminal. After you have completed the above steps go to: System Appearances Visual Effects Tab Click custom click ok to the popup To customise the vast range of effects go to: System Preferences Advanced Desktop Effect Settings Thanks for reading my tutorial and if you require any help, please post below.

I Finally Got My Site Done! Yay
GodFather replied to KansukeKojima's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I quite like the website overall. It has a nice simple layout and the colours work ok. One thing I would work on is some sort of container which contains all the site, with nice curved edges and all. Then you could build the logo into the layout. The logo is a bit too simple in my opinion, so I suggest doing something with the text. You could even try validating it with W3 and improving the coding with that. I noticed in the code that there is no doc type. It isn't needed, but it's good practice in my opinion to put one in. Also, on the contact us page - maybe build a contact us php form. This will stop people spamming your email. Using the PHP code: mail();It is pretty simple. -
Psp Sucks. Dont Buy It. A PSP Owner warning you
GodFather replied to XeNoToSs's topic in Computer Gaming
In my personal opinion, I actually like the PSP. I don't see what is wrong with it. I own a PSP and a Nintendo DS, both have there features. I like the Nintendo DS as it has a touch screen so you can interact with the game really well, but I like the PSP for its wide screen display and it's graphics. The PSP has a web browser on it and uses WIFI which is really cool. When I went on holiday I used the WIFI internet browser to connect to the internet in the hotel, after learning how to say "What is your WIFI password?" in Spanish, it worked perfectly. With Grand Theft Auto on it and a number of other leading games, it is a must have for gamers in my opinion. -
Megaupload Reduced Their Download Limit Again! [resolved]
GodFather replied to DogEater008's topic in General Discussion
I don't really use Megaupload to be honest, I find Rapidshare is a lot quicker and better in the fact that I use the Premium link generator websites found on the internet. These generate a direct download link to the file instead of waiting for a pointless download ticket to be reserved in order to actually download the file and you get the premium download speed. The other day I bought a premium account so I could download these large files which were split up into several files. If you are using Megaupload, I would Google some sort of premium link generator or even buy a subscription to it, if you are downloading a lot through it, if not use a link generator. -
Hello all, Now I ordered the game, The Godfather for the Xbox 360 off E-bay for around ?16 the other week. It finally came and I love it. The game play I think is great. Although there isn't that many missions, I think it is very good. You start off as an outsider and work your way up into the Corleone mafia family. Then you work through the in game ranks earning respect for shooting other gang members, robbing banks, extorting people. Extortion: This has to be my favorite thing in the game. Basically you force the owner of a business into paying protection money. There are 5 ways and they have 1 weak spot each. If you find that, you will get a better reward. Some it is trashing there business, others it is actually beating them up. Achievements: Now although there is only 850 gamer score to be earnt, the achievements are pretty good. Some are like extort 10 businesses, others are gain a certain around of respect. There are achievements for getting more respect and it isn't that hard to do that. Only the 50g for getting 50 respect level is hardest. Now lots of people on other forums have been saying they are going to put it to 1000G, but I don't think they are. If you are wanting to get an easy game for achievements, I wouldn't recommend this. The map: The map is pretty big and actually nicely done. It is set quite a while ago, so it has old cars etc. Another cool feature is you actually play while the area is being loaded. That in my opinion is unique to this game. The Missions: Now I don't think the actual story missions are that hard to be honest, as I completed 90% of them in an hour before turning it off for a break. Graphics: Although this isn't the newest of games, the graphics aren't really that bad. It looks quite good on an High Definition TV. Online Play: There isn't an online play. Although there are some extra down loadable contents which you can buy through the use of Microsoft Points. You can buy in game money, but I don't recommend doing this as you can easily make that money. And also there is some quite good gamer pictures to buy as well, having bought a pack myself.

Now I don't really like Greenday to be honest. In my opinion they're out of date and cannot sing, but my best friend is crazy about them. Coming into school on a morning, he wears a Greenday hoody top. Then there is this other band called My Chemical Romance who cannot sing either. Now Greenday have loads and loads of fans, but I cannot see why. There concerts sell out and I have heard they are really good live, but that music isn't my taste. Now I move onto the name. Does any of the younger fans actually know what Greenday as a word mean? No? Well maybe they should. You can go find out yourself what it means. Now I am into more of dance kinder music, and maybe these rockers hate that. But in my opinion, Greenday are ok, but not good.

At my school everyone have been going on about it for the past couple of years. I don't know why, all you are is some kind of character running around on a screen fighting some kind of enemy, then once in a while actually fighting a real person sat on there computer. Now also people have been saying at my school that RuneScape gives you viruses. I don't know if this is true or not, but that is what people have been saying. Now my friends waste there money on paying some membership fee to this game, now yes it is there hobby and it's what they play, but come on, paying the developers money what they make 100% profit on and can give out as much as they want, not in my life time. Now when I tried to have a go on it, I couldn't even get past that stupid 'tutorial island'. I think it is there just to bore you out for an hour before you actually get into the game. There is also people bragging about there level. What the hell are in game levels? There are combat levels and about 20 more. Now the bit I remember, before getting bored of tutorial island and just closing it and saying no more of that is fishing and chopping wood. Whats that teaching you? Spoil the environment and kill more fish? This game is certainly not for me and I don't see the point in anyone playing and then paying ?5 a month to get some poxy things.

The game is fantastic! The graphics is fantastic! The story is fantastic! This is a truly amazing game. I would start off on Veteran though as there are no real achievements for the other difficulties. You get around 40G per mission you complete and I don't think the missions are that hard really. Now online play just gets better. You work your way to better guns via the 55 ranks. On a gun you can unlock different addons like Grip (improves accuracy), Red Dot (Very good short distance) and ACOG scope which is very good at long distance - a bit like a sniper scope. Now as of all the Call Of Duty Series, I don't think the achievements are really that hard, although there is no online achievements at the time of writing, but I suspect they will be raising it to 1250G max and put some online achievements in. With no real lag online, it makes a big difference as I have played some games in the past which lag very badly, but thanks to the developers, this doesn't. Rating: Graphics: - 10/10 Game play: - 10/10 Online: - 10/10 Overall: - 10/10

Well I would choose linux in my eyes. It is open source so bugs and errors get fixed very quickly. Most of the programs are free and can achieve the same results as applications for windows that cost. Now there are many distros for linux, and they break down into 2 main GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces). These are Gnome and KDE.The best one of these is Gnome. It is easy to use and much simple. However if you are wanting your computer to look more like XP with the start button and all, choose KDE. Different programs work on different GUIs, so choose wisely, however there is normally a port between the 2.Now also there is different Distros. If you are wanting a simple one, use Ubuntu for Gnome and Kbuntu for KDE. These are free on the internet, just google it, not like Microsoft who charge a lot of money.Linux can run on the lowest spec computers so it makes it very good for that old PC in the attic for instance. Now if you want effects like Windows Vista you can use a free program called Compiz Fusion or another program called Beryl. I will be making a tutorial on this very shortly. For music I use Limewire. They have released a version for Linux, so that works very well. Or you could use Frostwire, which is free and works well too. The choice is yours.

I am running the latest version of Ubuntu currently. This is using the Gnome GUI (Graphical User Interface). I prefer this to Kbuntu just because I think it is easier to use. But for new people to linux, I would use Kbuntu as it is very similar to the GUI of Windows.I also think linux is the better server than Windows. It is much more reliable and stable in my eyes. So if your using it for a server, use something like CentOS or Redhat.

Nice one thanks a lot for this. Would this work on Windows XP if you modified something, or not? Also is there an equivalent in linux by any chance? I have some computers in my house running the latest Ubuntu. This is a pretty cool feature. xD

I agree with Liam. Try out your jokes and your act in front of some family and friends who can give you some constructive criticism. This will help you get a better overall performance. Maybe another one is try recording yourself and watch it back or even post it on a website like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for instance. You said you only have like a week so I think the best option is doing a show in front of your family and friends. When you come to the performance just keep your cool and act casual. Try not to show your nerves as best as you can and just pretend you are doing your performance in your living room at home.
